1. Japanese Mini Dozuki Panel Saw

A super light and durable panel saw is what you need to get quick and precise cuts on your pieces of work. Every inch counts and this is the tool to make sure you get the correct cut you’re looking for. This panel has a walnut handle to hold comfortably in your hand, with a .30mm thick steel blade ready to carve away wood with ease.

Specifications

  • Blade length: 5.9”
  • Total length 14.6”
  • Weight 3.84 oz
  • Steel blade and walnut handle

Sample Customer Review…I’ve had other Z-saws for years and finally got around to picking this little one up. It cuts fast, tracks more easily than a western push saw (in my experience), and stays sharp for years of steady use. The blades change out quickly and easily. This saw is not for deep cuts, more for joineries like dovetails and smaller tenons.

Now, this is NOT a saw for tree live or green trees limbs of branches – it’s for dry wood only. It works fabulously in softwoods but requires a bit more practice in harder woods. The saw can be used on plywood, but unless you have no other choice, I’d avoid doing so. The teeth are impulse/induction hardened so they are VERY hard and stay sharp for a very long time. HOWEVER, because of that hardness, teeth can be broken off or the blade can be snapped if it twists too much – but if either of those happens you’re abusing the saw. I highly recommend the Z-Saws to anyone, especially those who are just starting to saw by hand.

2. Bench Cookie

These bench cookie surfaces are made of a mousepad-like material to hold the wood in its place and the bench cookie itself in place. Sanding on top of these also prevents the wood from jittering around, altering your desired finished product. The thread in the center allows for different risers to be inserted for a variety of elevations to work at. The higher the elevation the more suitable for machines with a longer blade

Specifications

  • 4.3” x 3.3” x 3.3”
  • 12.7 oz
  • Foam rubber surfaces
  • Hard plastic core

Sample Customer Review…These little things are a must for anyone working with wood. They actually hold the wood really well! Even if they have sawdust on them. I’ve been using them to prop up boards so I can cut or use a router on them and they haven’t failed me yet. I’ll probably actually be ordering another set pretty soon here. I could definitely see myself needing to use more than 4 on some occasions.

3. Robert Larson Folding Ruler

Tape measures are not the most ideal for flat surfaces.  When working with short, flat, wood surfaces, a folding ruler can make a great gift for a woodworker. Marking lumber with one hand and holding this sturdy ruler in another will bring ease to the job, unlike standard flimsy rulers.

Specifications

  • 3’ Hardwood ruler
  • Clear and bold inch markings
  • Traditional style
  • Brass joints
  • Foldable for easy storage

Sample Customer Review…I use folding rulers most of the time, specifically the Lufkin X46 because of the extension. I prefer them to tape measures for shorter distances because they lay flat on lumber with the markings next to the wood. It is also easier to hold the ruler in one place and mark with the other hand than a tape measure that can fall off the work and pull the whole tape with it. The fit and finish on this ruler are nice, and there are 1/8th markings on one side while the other in 1/16th increments. My only issue with this ruler is that it lacks an extension for measuring depth and inside cabinets and other interiors. This is a good price for a folding ruler, considering a slightly nicer finish on an antique will cost $55.00. Pottery Barn also sells one for $129.00!

4. DFM Small Carpenter Square

Need to layout patterns and markings on your lumber? To achieve extremely accurate results this carpenter square is the go-to tool. It is pocket-sized but is capable of cross-marking 2×4 lumber.  There are plenty of scribe holes up to 3” in length to achieve the desired markings for pinpoint accuracy.

Specifications

  • 3.5” x 3.75”
  • Five  ¼” pinholes
  • Aluminum
  • 7.2 oz

Sample Customer Review…Fantastic little square. First of all, the square is perfectly square, as it should be, so that’s great. Secondly, it’s also very small, and easy to get into your pocket or tool belt. It’s perfect for two-by-four work, but anything bigger than that you’ll probably want to find a larger Carpenter square. The build quality is an A+, and the color is pretty cool too. Does everything I need it to.

5. Narex chisel set

A set of chisels should be in every woodworker’s shop.  This set is of high quality considering the price. You get a set of 4 varying-sized chisels for different circumstances. The beechwood handle is comfortable to hold and the tempered steel blades will slide through the lumbar with ease.

Specifications

  • 4 piece set
  • chrome-manganese steel blade
  • European Beechwood handles
  • sizes: 6mm, 12mm, 20mm, 26mm

Sample Customer Review…I was immediately impressed with the appearance of the chisels when I opened the box upon receipt. The finish of the blades and handles was perfect. The cutting edges were ground at the perfect angles and the backs on all four chisels were slightly concave and perfect for flattering. The statement on the box that the chisels were ready for use out of the box should have read (nicely finished and ready for final sharpening.) Almost all tools with factory edges need to be sharpened prior to use. I sharpened the chisels with 600 and 1200 grit diamond stones and had them razor-sharp in a short time. They are supposed to have been hardened to Rockwell 59 which should allow them to hold an edge very well. The price of $40 for the set has to be one of the best values I have ever found.

6. 3M WorkTunes Connect

Working with loud and obnoxious power tools is not kind to the ears. The safety of the worker is of utmost importance. Protect their ears with these noise reduction headphones. These have Bluetooth capability allowing the user to play music from their Bluetooth devices.

Specifications

  • padded ear cushions
  • High-fidelity speakers
  • AM/FM radio
  • Built-in mic
  • AA batteries required

Sample Customer Review…These are amazing. I use some sort of hearing protection almost daily, from work to power tools to lawn maintenance. I’ve used lots of different styles of hearing protection, and these are the best. Simply from a noise reduction standpoint, they get the job done, just as lots of other models do. These however are the most comfortable earmuffs I’ve ever had. So for that point alone, they are worth the cost. The radio/Bluetooth is just an added perk. The controls take a little getting used to feeling around without having to take them off your head, but it’s easy enough. The sound quality is great for what they are. They aren’t $500 noise-canceling first-class flight speakers, but as a noise protection speaker, they are more than acceptable. I’d recommend these to anybody who ever has to wear some sort of hearing protection.

7. Waxed Canvas Heavy Duty Work Apron

Protect the user and their clothes with this heavy-duty apron. This professionally crafted apron will provide years of durable protection against sticky substances, sawdust, and stains. It is one-size-fits-all and even has several front pockets to hold phones, tools, wallets, etc.

Specifications

  • Waxed canvas
  • Cross back-straps
  • Front pockets.
  • Quick-release buckle
  • Shoulder pads
  • Dual Hammer Loops

Sample Customer Review…I just received the apron a few days ago. As soon as I opened up the package I immediately noted that the quality of the apron was top notch. The stitching and general construction are very nice. It was very easy to adjust to my size and it hung very comfortably on my body. I especially liked the shoulder straps and the cross-over ties on the back. I chose this apron over the several others I was considering because of the lower flap pockets. I do a lot of woodworking and I hate having to empty pockets of sawdust and wood chips. The flaps that cover the lower pockets eliminate the sawdust issue. The second reason I chose this apron was that it didn’t have a ton of pockets on it. I really like just having two lower pockets for a few small tools I constantly use, and one upper chest pocket that holds my pencil, a small notebook, and a metal 6” ruler. I really like the waxed canvas material it’s made of and I think it will get better looking with age. I have worn it every day since I purchased it and honestly can’t find anything I don’t like about it.

8. Quickread Yellow Clad Tape Measure

For much longer cuts of lumber, a short folding ruler won’t do the job. This will accurately provide measurements with ease up to 25’. The design is made to fit nicely into the hand. Also, the mold of the case is made to withstand impact and have an easier grip.

Specifications

  • 12.2 oz
  • 1 x 1 x 1 inches
  • Plastic case
  • Steel blade
  • Measures up to 25’

Sample Customer Review…I mainly needed a cheap but decent replacement tape measure for regular usage (non-handyman, carpenter, etc stuff) and so far this does the job. I used to use an old but still handy metal Stanley PowerLock, Stanley is all I know but this isn’t bad. Like most other tapes it will go limp, this one for me does so at around 9-10FT but if used on the ground it’s fine. The casing is plastic but feels strong enough to survive falls on hard surfaces and it has a belt clip. The lock also works fine with just one hand and I’m not a strong woman so that’s a plus.

What I really like is that the numbers are vertical instead of horizontal like many others as it’s much easy/quicker to read. The tape isn’t scratch-resistant (I tested) but the coating creates a good shield for average wear. For the price, it’s a great tape measure. If you’re a contractor or in some such profession I think this would be a decent cheap measure for on the go but you may want to opt for a metal casing or other features. For the average person just wanting to measure without a ruler, it’s pretty great.

9.  FASTCAP GLU-BOT GLUE BOTTLE

Prevent excess glue dripping or spilling with this bottle. A gift for the more messy workers. The bottle is designed to suck extra glue back into the bottle once you stop applying the glue. This feature also makes it possible for the tip to not get clogged and stay clean.

Specifications

  • 2 chamber system
  • Holds 16oz
  • Plastic

Sample Customer Review…I’d been fighting for years with plastic glue bottles. They’re pretty functional, but invariably, you forget to clean the tip and the thing dries clogged, and you poke stuff down it, twist it, or crush it open with a pair of pliers. Or you give up and take the whole top off and dip in a stick to get the glue out. But this thing … works so well! So simple, so perfectly functional! I love that you squeeze it and the glue moves up the neck, then settles back down when you’re done, even if you forget the cap-on-a-string. Which, by the way, this doesn’t stick to the glue and works great–plus there’s a nipple on the cap to store it out of the way while you’re working. Definitely, if you do a lot of work with glue, as I do in my shop, this thing is flat-out awesome.

10. PONY 52 Pipe Clamp

This pipe clamp is a great gift for all woodworkers who need to have their lumber tight and secured. Crank the handle to achieve desired tightness. Its baked enamel finish ensures this product’s durability. Gluing lumber together has never been easier while using this.

Specifications

  • 1.44lbs
  • steel thrust bearing
  • Crank handle
  • 1- ½ inch square clamp faces

Sample Customer Review…I have several of these clamps. The Pony has the best spring/clamp mechanism of most of the clamps in its category. I bought a set of the cheaper clamps and the springs weren’t strong enough to keep them from sliding around. When you have glue drying on a large project, that can be a real pain. Pay a few extra bucks and get these.

11. Wixey Digital Angle Gauge

Relying on your eyes to determine the degree of angles manually still leaves room for error. Minimize error with this digital angle gauge. It’s simple to use, all that is needed is that you zero the device while using a reference surface.

Specifications

  • 6x4x1 inches
  • 2 AA batteries required
  • Range of  +/- 180 degrees
  • 2 buttons

Sample Customer Review…Good product shipped quickly. The small size works very well for truing up the table saw blades to the table. The magnetized base hangs onto the blade. Just zero out the gauge on the table, then hang the gauge on the blade, and dial in exactly the angle you want to cut. Can be any angle, not just 90 or 45 degrees, so if you want to make a pentagon or hexagon, or octagon (or whatever) sided box, you’re covered. The readout is clear and reads in decimal degrees. I think the accuracy is +/-0.2 degrees, which is fine for woodworking, and better than trying to use a protractor or square. I always find the square approach problematic, since on most saw blades the carbide teeth are wider than the steel part of the blade. This gauge avoids fouling the carbide teeth of the blade, so you get an accurate blade angle reading. Cool tool!

12. GRR-RIPPER 3D Pushblock

Safety is the number one priority when working with wood and the dangerous appliances involved with the process. This pushblock is to ensure said safety for your hands specifically. Its high friction durable grip will prevent any hand from losing its grip, providing the most efficient product possible.

Specifications

  • Plastic
  • 1.8lbs
  • Adjustable
  • Moving blade guard
  • 1/4″ thin rips

Sample Customer Review…Why didn’t I buy this sooner? After seeing many Youtubers use this Gripper I often wondered if it was worth the hype, after all, it’s a fancy push stick right? Wrong, it’s a safety tool that I did not realize was essential until I started using it. It’s pushing Jigg that grips and holds both sides of the workpiece during ripping it. Why is that important? Well, first of all, it keeps your hands away from the blade, I discovered the value of this one day when I was ripping some plywood, got distracted, and nicked the top of the Gripper (better the Gripper than my fingers). Since the gripper, grips all sides you have more control over the workpiece. Additionally, I like the fact that by using the gripper I can greatly reduce any kickback from the table saw. So to any woodworker out there that is on the fence about this product, I say go for it, my future self may thank you.

13. Vari Standing Mat 34×20

Working on your feet for long periods of time can take a toll on your feet and the rest of your body. The Bari Standing Mat is designed to support your feet, hip, knees, and back. No workstation is complete with this standing mat to provide the comfort that you need.

Specifications

  • 34×20
  • 5”/8” high-density core
  • Plastic

Sample Customer Review…I purchased this mat specifically for what it is designed to do—help minimize fatigue for standing desks and I feel it has accomplished that. Naturally, when you’re tired you’ll need to sit down for a few, but since my purchase, I’ve noticed that I am less tired and more energetic throughout my day. My legs, hips, and back are not as worn out as before prior to my purchase. I will be purchasing this product again for my home.

14. Wall Control 30-P-3232GV Galvanized Steel Pegboard

Organize your workspace with this steel pegboard. Its steel frame prevents the holes from deteriorating over time from constant usage. There is more than enough space to store most or all of the woodworkers ‘ tools.

Specifications

  • 32×16
  • Steel
  • 1/4in Pegboard Pegs

Sample Customer Review…I can’t say enough good things about this pegboard. Loved it so much I ended up buying 2 sets. Installation was a breeze and it took me about 40 minutes combined to set up all 4 panels(both sets). This includes marking and drilling holes in my concrete wall. I used Tapcon wall anchors (pic of screws used attached) to attach them to the concrete and these panels arent going anywhere. I purchased the pegboard in order to clear the clutter from the floor and hang all of my yard gear. I didn’t want to spend $150+ on a wall set and then have to buy expensive custom hooks in order to organize things how I want. Peg attachments are very economical and seem to work just fine for what I need. To my surprise, this pegboard has worked great and holds a good amount of weight! I took a chance on it with high hopes that it would work for what I wanted and it has yet to disappoint. I will update my review if things change, but as of right now this pegboard is a clear Winner! Especially for the price!

15. 6-Inch Flex Precision Stainless Steel Ruler

A pocket-sized ruler may be a gift a woodworker may need. Precision is key and this ruler will provide that. For small works and repairs, this 6” is the one

Specifications

  • 6”
  • Stainless steel
  • Rust Proof
  • Sliding pocket clip

Sample Customer Review…I have about four or five of these rulers I keep around and I always have one in my pocket, they are well made I have used mine every day. They show no wear or scratches numbers are easy to read they aren’t painted or printed but acetone or other solvents such as Brake Kleen will eat the numbers off motor oil or transmission fluid are okay anything like acetone and the ruler is toast. The ruler works well with both pens and pencils even carpenter pencils, I have used mine with the Staedtler 925 series from lead size .3 through .9 the pencil slides like a dream on the ruler’s edge with real smooth lines. Not so much of a depth gauge more like a height gauge really.

Pros made in USA thin flexible numbers dark and easy to read pocket clip is tight and slides smoothly.
Cons I had to tighten on one of my rulers the clip slide wings on the back with a pair of needle-nose pliers as it was a tad to lose and not stay where I needed to.

16. Neiko 01407A Electronic Digital Caliper

Measuring the thickness of objects with a plain old ruler is not good enough for the job. If you want the most accurate measurement then this digital caliper will be needed. This is a versatile tool that can handle all of your measuring needs.

Specifications

  • Three Measuring Modes.
  • Stainless Steel
  • Large LCD screen
  • Battery-powered

Sample Customer Review…Most of these digital calipers have similar features. I own an older six-inch pair by another manufacturer that does not have a fractional readout. I find the fractional readout helpful; for example in checking drill bit sizes. I was concerned that this eight-inch pair might be, on the one hand, heavy and unwieldy, or on the other hand flimsy and bendy. It is neither. I find it easy to use and well made. The jaws align perfectly every time. I haven’t had it long enough to comment on battery life, but it does come with a spare. I always leave the calipers with the thumbscrew tightened. This is because the caliper turns on automatically when the jaws are moved. If the thumbscrew is not tightened, normal jostling in your tool drawer can cause the caliper to turn on automatically, then off when the jaws haven’t moved for a while, back on again when jostled again… thus wearing out the battery. I gave it a couple of drops of oil to get it to work as smoothly as I like.

17. Narex Czech Steel Dual Bevel Carving Striking Marking Knife

Carve away with ease, using this carving knife. Its steel blade is sharp enough to cut through wood like a hot knife through butter. Marking and carving wood has never been easier.

Specifications

  • Steel
  • 090″ thick and .380″ wide
  • 2.75″ Blade length
  • 4.125″ Handle

Sample Customer Review…I use this tool for fine carving work especially for carving fur on animals like wolves and lions. My first version of this knife was damaged in a fall and although I was able to repair and hone that one back to razor status, I wanted another. Prefer it to higher-priced carving skew chisels for control and durability. The handle design is comfortable so I can use it for extended periods of time. While it’s marketed for a different application, it is an asset to any Woodcarvers collection of tools. Easier to sharpen than Flexcut knives.

18. Titebond H6838 – III Ultimate Wood Glue

Having glue around the workshop to apply to pieces of work is awfully handy. Not just any old glue but Titlebond Ultimate wood glue. This strong adhesive only needs up to 30min of clamp time to stick together forever.

Specifications

  • For wood
  • Tan
  • 16oz

Sample Customer Review…Bonds really well. I created a bottom frame for a washer/dryer pedestal, joining the wood with my Kreg set, clamps, and this glue. I was curious how strong the glue would hold so I took out the joining screws and attempted to break the glued joints by jumping on them. It would not break! All 200lbs of me jumping on a single 1.5″ by 2.5″ joint. Seriously! I read somewhere that wood glue these days creates a bond that’s as strong as the wood itself. I’m not sure about that but after trying to break these joints bonded by this glue, I’m much closer to believing it. I’m very impressed by how strong a bond this creates.

19. Little Wizard II Nail Finder

Does this woodworker reuse old, used timber? That already used wood could have nails or screws in it that could damage blades and saws. This nail finder will prevent such things from happening quickly and effectively. Not only are you saving time but you will also be saving money by not having to buy new blades.

Specifications

  • Weight: 1oz
  • 9 volts
  • LED’s

Sample Customer Review…This little guy makes a great pin-pointer. I am a novice metal detector so I couldn’t imagine spending hundreds for a pin-pointer, so I bought one of these. What a great investment! This thing is super helpful and accurate. Well worth the price. Accurate and light, easy to carry with me when I go out into a field or woods. Most importantly this shaves so much time off the digging process and makes the hunt that much more enjoyable. Great little pin-pointer! I would make one adjustment, cover the seam on the front with black electrical tape to keep the dirt out and keeps the pin-pointer accurate.

20. 29 Piece Fractional Inch Brad Point Drill Bit Set

A lot of woodworkers have the basic, generic twist drill bits. A set of 29 different drill bits will provide a variety of choices for the worker. These alloy steel bits are packaged into a small and durable carrying case.

Specifications

  • Alloy Steel
  • Polycarbonate case
  • Fractional Inches

Sample Customer Review…I have used a few of the smaller bits for drilling in yellow pine and red oak. They feel slightly bowed while rotating, but they drill straight, clean, centered holes very quickly without the tip wandering around my center marks. Tear-out should always be mitigated with some sort of backer board. The bits arrived well-coated in oil and in good condition.

21. Ticonderoga Pencils

Measuring with all those fancy tools won’t mean much if there isn’t a utensil to mark down said measurements. Pencils of any kind would work but Ticonderoga Pencils have a hard lead that will create a thin, visible line that won’t break on the lumber.

Specifications

  • Wood
  • #3 H graphite
  • Latex-free eraser

Sample Customer Review…This is most definitely one of the best pencils you can buy. The graphite looks good and the eraser works well. As a musician and composer, I need to constantly write and erase. These pencils work perfectly for that purpose. These pencils are made with real wood and high-quality graphite. This allows the pencil to be sharpened easily and with precision. The graphite is strong in that it does not break easily. This allows the pencil to be sharpened to a fine point without breaking off easily. This facilitates writing and drawing with great precision. The eraser works extremely well, unlike many other pencils. In my experience, the eraser has never stiffened, rarely breaks off, and always seems to work as well as it should, no matter how old the pencil is. The eraser works well enough to be used as precisely as the graphite.

Overall, I would recommend these pencils to anyone who is looking for high-quality pencils.

22. Herbacin Kamille Hand Cream Tin

Working with wood all day will dry out the workers from all the sawdust. If you know a woodworker who deals with dry skin, this is a gift for them. This cream can also be used as a lip balm.

Specifications

  • 2.5 oz
  • Hand & Lip cream
  • Uses glycerin

Sample Customer Review… I don’t typically write long reviews, but I felt as if I just had to thank this hand cream. I have very bad eczema on my hands, particularly in between my fingers and the back of my hands. It really got bad when I started clinical around 5 months ago. My hands would often bleed after I had a day at the hospital. Even on my days off my hands would itch and burn like crazy. I tried EVERYTHING. Literally, every product made at Walmart- Aveeno, Cerave, Goldbond, Neosporin, Burt’s Bees, Shea Moisture…I tried bag balm at night with gloves, I tried Aquaphor. Nothing relieved my skin. I finally just googled best hand creams for eczema. A list popped up and I figured this would be worth a shot. This is the only thing that has actually made a difference. I cannot emphasize enough how much this has helped me. I have been rubbing it on my hands for five days and I left clinical without bleeding or itchy hands for the first time today. I would highly recommend this product, it’s worth a shot!!!

23. Kevlar-Arm-Sleeves

No products found.

Avoid getting splinters, fiberglass, cuts, and scrapes while at work. These lightweight sleeves are comfortable and won’t affect the quality of the work. Save money on first-aid kits and doctor trips with a purchase of these sleeves.

Specifications

  • Double Ply
  • Kevlar
  • Stretchy fabric

Sample Customer Review…I bought these to do demo work in Houston after Harvey. They were perfect. I was saved many a time from arm gouges from nails and debris because of these things. They aren’t itchy or uncomfortable. I wasn’t sure I’d like how they hook over your thumb but after using them there, I was so glad they did. Just that much more protection. I wore work gloves over them and they fit fine. They also don’t slouch down your arm but stay put. I’m 6’2 and they covered past my elbows. So glad I purchased these.

24. Carhartt Legacy Tool Bag 14-Inch

Organization is important in everyday life, no matter the situation. This tool bag will keep all the tools in one place so the woodworker does not need to constantly search for those lost tools. With its 27 pockets, there is space for plenty of tools.

Specifications

  • Polyester
  • 2 pounds
  • Carhartt Brown

Sample Customer Review…My old bag finally fell apart, after looking at lots of bags I ended up with this one. It’s a great size, not too big or too small.
