  • The crisping option gives the food a golden crisp finish
  • Cooks food up to 70% faster than normal cooking methods
  • 6.5-quart pot

Sample Customer Review… This really does do everything. I pressure-cooked some pork loins in it, drained them after cooking, added some sauce, and used the air fryer top. Oh, it put a perfect sticky sweet sauce on those loins. The whole thing cleaned up in less than 3 minutes too when it was time to wash up. I’ve used it to steam buns with too – it comes with a steamer pan that you can put the buns in, and just a bit of water in the bottom of the pan. It sears, it steams, it slow cooks – it really does almost everything I need to be done.

The controls are easier for me to use than the Instant Pot. I have both and will probably get rid of my smaller Instant Pot. It doesn’t take the place of the extra-large one though because of sheer volume and canning.

It comes with a ‘cheat sheet’ that had me cooking once I got it washed up. It also has a very nicely done cookbook with it.

I gave my “BIG BOSS” to my dad and my “Crock Pot Multicooker” to my sister. I will also be getting rid of my ‘regular’ sized Instant Pot, so I can definitely say that for me this takes the place of at least 3 small appliances. Now, if you have a BIG BOSS or large air fryer, know this is only going to do a smaller amount, but I never used mine for large amounts anyway. I keep most of my small appliances on a set of shelves and get them down as needed, but for this one, I cleaned off a permanent place on the counter.

Sample Customer Review… I love this pot!! I have had it for a few months and use it daily. It has saved me many times! I use a lot of brown rice and millet. Both take a long time to cook on the stovetop and I refuse to use a microwave! This pot ( I have the Instant Pot Duo Evo Plus) cooks the grains perfectly in about 25 minutes but I can put on a delayed start and have my breakfast waiting for me when I get up. I put a whole frozen chicken in the pot with veggies and water and have fabulous chicken with soup for later in an hour. There are just so many things to do with this pot! I make yogurt, stream sterilize jars, brown vegetables, or meat and I haven’t even tried the slow cooker yet! I’ve told so many people about my pot. I work in a health-related field and encourage a healthy diet so I thought I should finally write a review since I’ve already talked several people into buying one.

Here is one of my favorite things about this pot, when you close the pot to seal it, it automatically closes the vent. On my old pot, I would realize after about 10 minutes that the vent was open and there was no pressure building in the pressure cooker. This feature really helps me! Also, there is a steam defuser over the steam release valve to help avoid painful steam burns. Another thing I love is the progress indicator at the top of the screen. It shows pressure building, cooking time, and warming time so you exactly what’s happing at all times. It’s easy to operate. My advice is to buy one right away unless you take all your meals to a restaurant! I may have to have a second one for my office!

Sample Customer Review… I got the InstantPot Wifi on a cyber Monday deal and I do not regret it. I have used it over and over again and it produces such great, easy-to-cook meals! PRESSURE FUNCTION: The idea of cooking a whole chicken in 10 minutes or soup in 20 all in ONE POT is kind of insane, but this is the real deal! I mainly use It as a pressure cooker. It has many other functions though.
SAUTE FUNCTION: I like to sauté my veggies before pressure cooking whatever I am cooking in the Instant Pot. The sauté function heats up in less than 2 minutes.
SLOW COOKER: It does seem to cook a little faster than a normal crockpot but as long as you watch it, it still makes great food!
RICE COOKER: Check! That works.
FROZEN FOOD: I pulled chicken right out of the freezer and cooked It in my Instant Pot in 10 minutes. It tasted great!
CLEAN: Everything just wipes out so easily! I am so impressed with the non-stick surface the insert is. Nothing can stick to that thing.

Sample Customer Review… Look, I’m just a basic guy. When I cook something, it has to be fairly simple, but I also want it to taste good. Usually, it doesn’t. While I like to eat “gourmet,” I don’t have near the patience or interest to cook that way. I have made up a recipe I call a “beef stew chili.” I throw in some bell peppers, onion, jalapeno, cayenne pepper, etc. – you get the idea – and then throw in a couple of pounds of beef stew meat. Usually, this recipe comes out with rubbery meat, even if I cook it in a slow cooker. I’ve tried braising this and sauteing that, but it still comes out rubbery. When I made this recipe in the Yedi, the meat came out amazingly tender – a first for me – and I didn’t have to do anything fancy to get it that way. Plus, the whole thing tasted great—another first. I have since tried a couple of other recipes, and they came out surprisingly well. Honestly, I can’t believe I made them. So, if you are a basic guy like me, you will really appreciate this product. Not a lot of preparation, fast cook time, and not much to clean up.

I bought this particular unit on the strength of the customer reviews and find I agree with the 9 out of 10 customers who rate this product 5 stars. But I did note that I purchased that it didn’t have much in the way of accessories. Now that I’ve found I truly like this cooker and seem to be using it all the time, I wrote off to the company asking if the various accessories made for the 6 quarts Instant Pot would also work with my Yedi. The interesting and impressive thing was that I wrote my inquiry on a Sunday late afternoon and got a reply within an hour from Bobby Djavaheri, Vice-President, Yedi Houseware.

Sample Customer Review… Day one with the new toy: Chuck roast, baby carrots, fresh thyme, rosemary and garlic, a whole onion, beef broth, salt, and pepper. I seared both sides for about five minutes on the saute setting, then used the meat setting for 65 minutes. The meat literally fell apart as I was pulling it out of the pot. It was a huge hit on its first run! We have a bone-in leg of lamb thawing out now for tomorrow night.

This is so easy to use, and it’s the perfect size for one or two people. I’ve been making a lot of stews, and I’ll saute the onions, carrots, and meat (if I’m using meat), then add everything else, seal it, and set it for seven minutes on high pressure. I let it release naturally and have a perfectly cooked, tasty meal every time. This gives me enough for four or five servings.

7. Clipso Stainless 12-PSI Pressure Cooker

[amazon box=”B00K0JY7XW” description=” ” rating=”4.5″]

This is the perfect product for you, and your kids will thank you when they come home starving from sports practice. This pressure cooker reduces the amount of cooking time for any of your favorite recipes by a whopping 70 percent. This makes it possible to cook large amounts of food at once without losing any valuable flavor. The appliance’s long-lasting stainless steel build can be used on any stovetop surface from gas to electric for optimal results. In addition, this pressure cooker has a built-in steam valve feature that enables you to control the amount of steam that is released from the basket.

Specifications

  • Reduces the amount of cooking time necessary
  • Built with stainless steel material
  • Large capacity
  • Easy to open and close
  • Safe for dishwasher use
  • Basket, stand, and recipe ideas included in the package

Sample Customer Review… I’ve been afraid to try using a pressure cooker until now, but the Clipso cooker was recommended by a friend who has several pressure cookers. I love that this cooker is easy to use–there is no guesswork. The seal is very sturdy, the correct positions are marked and the lid is easy to lock firmly onto the base. The pressure valve is also clearly marked and very easy to set. The instructions are clear about maximum fill levels and the minimum amount of liquid required for the cooker to work properly–and there are markings on the side of the cooker itself. Once the pressure was up and the steam began escaping through the pressure valve, I was very surprised at how little heat was required to keep the steam up. I was using the gas cooktop in the RV and started on full power (i.e., setting HI/10) as the directions suggested. I was able to reduce heat to medium-low–setting 3 on my stove–and still had plenty of steam. I made a pot roast the first time I used my cooker and it turned out perfectly. I also love that the cooker is stainless steel and easy to clean. Although the lid must be washed by hand, the pot can be put in the dishwasher if you choose. (I wash mine by hand; it’s quicker.)

I did have a couple of concerns, initially. While the cooker is building up pressure, a very small amount of steam did escape from the top of the lid–but NOT from the places listed as emergency steam releases–that is, it came from around the handle locking mechanism. It was minor and stopped as soon as the pressure was up in the cooker, so it wasn’t an issue.

I strongly recommend turning the heat to low or medium-low as soon as the pressure is up and the cooker starts to steam–it doesn’t take much heat to keep the cooker going and keeping the heat too high will use up the liquid in the cooker too quickly. You can always raise the heat a little if the steam slows down. It also comes with a nice steaming basket, but I haven’t tried that yet. Overall, this is an excellent pressure cooker.

8. Breville BPR700BSS Fast Slow Pro Slow Cooker

[amazon box=”B013I40R8E” description=” ” rating=”4.4″]

If you’re looking for a tech-savvy pressure cooker that can do it all, this product is for you. The Breville’s Fast Slow Pro Multicooker is on our list of best pressure cookers for many reasons. This multicooker features sensors that specifically monitor the ingredients that are put into the cooker in order to cook them to perfection through temperature control. The steam release setting ensures the food has optimal flavor, a bonus feature that your kids are sure to thank you for. The pressure cooker’s 11 settings offer a multitude of different ways to prepare your food to you or your family’s liking. The electronic efficient color changing screen on the front side of the cooker enables you to accurately control the temperature, cooking method, time and specify the ingredients used in the recipe. These detailed settings allow for the cooker to prepare your food to perfection.

Specifications

  • Color changing screen to alert the user when the cooker is releasing steam or pressurizing
  • Safety system
  • 11 settings for different pressure cooking options
  • The warming function allows food to stay warm even when the cooker is off
  • 6-quart pot capacity
  • Temperature is shown on the screen

Sample Customer Review… This cooker has been in use for 2-1/2 years. Is it the best thing since sliced bread? No. Does it do a great job at its intended purpose? Yes. What makes this so useful to me is that you no longer need to be in the kitchen once you set it up and close the lid. It automatically comes up to pressure, release pressure (three different ways), and keeps food warm. We use it frequently during cooler months for soups and stews. That you can make black bean soup from dry beans without soaking in for under two hours is fantastic. It also makes the best, easily peeled, hard-boiled eggs. A couple of notes on usage: I take out the gasket and let it air to minimize odors; it still smells a little but does not affect food. I keep the cooker lid open a bit with a wooden spoon, also. To minimize odors, I have not had any problems with the cooking insert either smelling or chipping. Overall I am very pleased with the cooker.

9. Breville Fast Slow Pro Multi-Function Pressure Cooker

[amazon box=”B013I40R8E” description=” ” rating=”4.4″]

The Fast Slow Pro Multi-Function Pressure Cooker is perfect for a seasoned pressure cooking veteran that loves to have utility in cooking capabilities and performance when it comes to pressure cooking. This pressure cooker comes with 11 preset settings for pressure cooking and eight preset settings for slow cooking. It also allows you to create custom settings for both pressure and slow cooking. This pressure cooker also comes with a progress indicator that tells you how much longer the food needs to cook until the meal is ready.

In addition to the cooking capabilities of the pressure cooker, many built-in features of the pressure cooker make for easy use and practical appliance. The hands-free steam release assures its users have flexibility by leaving the pressure cooker and coming back when the meal is ready. Whether you enjoy sautéing or simmering, this pressure cooker’s features allow its users to take control of the cooking. Users can apply customizable settings to control how the food cooks, and automatic settings, users can cook meals just how they like them while recording their preferred settings for later use.

Specifications

  • Simple, easy-to-follow controls
  • Stainless Steel
  • Hands-free steam release
  • Built-in safety features
  • 11 presets for pressure cooking
  • Eight presets for slow cooking

Sample Customer Review… I own other Breville products (juicer, toast) and appreciate their quality. The Fast Slow Pro is built in the same high-quality manner. It was a little bit of a gamble to spend over 2x more than the other popular pressure cooker, Instant Pot, but I figured the combined benefits of improved controls (simplified) and build quality would make it worth it. Also, the other thing that allowed me to justify the price is that the Breville will replace our slow cooker and rice cooker in our limited cabinet space. Yes, I could have saved money on the cheaper Instant Pot, but my thinking is if the Breville is doing other appliances’ job, then it is worth spending money on a better quality product that’s easier to use.

With all that said, after cooking a few different things, I couldn’t be happier. The Breville is a smart device that serves multiple purposes. So far, I’ve made; brown rice, braised short ribs with vegetables, pulled pork with green chile sauce, and baked beans.

Since you can saute in the Breville, you don’t need to use a different pan for this. I’ve sauteed vegetables and meats. Just keep in mind you won’t have the contact area trying to saute something larger like a chicken. In this case, a separate pan may be better.

I love that the cord is detachable, and you can put it in the Breville (along with the steamer basket) for storage. It means you don’t have a chord getting caught up with other things in your cabinet (even though I wrap up my chords with velcro). The controls and interface are very intuitive. For my first recipe (brown rice with onion, garlic, and ginger), it took me a few seconds to figure out how to saute the veggies and switch over to pressure cooking. Several default settings (Soup, Beans, Meat, Chile, Rice, Risotto, etc.…) make the settings for you. From there, you can tweak the pre-defined settings (time, pressure, steam release method).

10. HAWKINS Classic CL20 2-Liter New Improved Aluminum Pressure Cooker

[amazon box=”B00SX2YZMG” description=” ” rating=”4.2″]

Hawkins’ Classic Aluminum pressure cooker is a bang for your buck product. Priced at lower than other brands of pressure cookers, this appliance makes your busy weeknights a whole lot easier with its ability to cook your food in no time. With its 2 liter capacity, this pressure cooker is the perfect size for a small family or can be used on the go from RV’s to camping trips. If you do plan to travel with this product, its extensive safety features are a bonus. The cooker’s seal on the inside of the pot ensures better safety, as it locks when the machine is turned on. This lid will only open if the pressure inside the pot falls to a safe level. In addition, its cooling handle prevents any burns, while the safety valve is ideal when small children are present. Although at 3.2 pounds it is smaller than typical pressure cookers, it still cooks your favorite dishes to perfection in a record amount of time. If you have a family on the larger side, Hawkins also produces pressure cookers in 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 liters as well.

Specifications

  • Ideal for simple side dishes
  • Easily transportable product
  • Durable aluminum build
  • Safety features include a seal on the inside that locks the lid
  • Regulated pressure decreases the amount of cooking time necessary

Sample Customer Review… I purchased this pressure cooker mostly to cook long grain / wild rice, and it works quite well for that purpose but is suitable for other foods. You will need to experiment somewhat with your cooking time since it is a hassle to check the progress of the food as it is cooking, but once you get a method established, it works very well. As usual, it is best to read the instructions before use. A section describes treating the inside of the pot with lemon juice to prevent the darkening of its innards before first use. Also, it is important to have enough water and cook at the proper temperature since overcooking could leave you with a mess in the bottom of the pot. I use steel wool or a heavy scouring pad only occasionally to remove any mild internal oxidation. Overall, this pressure cooker is very well built and should provide you with years of use. The handle appears to be Bakelite or similar material and feels very durable. The pressure release valve works well and is relatively easy to clean in the unlikely event it gets dirty. Sometimes I will bring the water to a boil before I close it off and then reduce the heat to about three or four depending. I try to minimize the “popping” of the valve and shoot for having it just rocking back and forth a bit under pressure. Results will vary depending on the type of stove you have. Due to the shortness of duration, it takes to cook food (and for safety reasons), I never leave it unattended. Although, if operated correctly, the most that would likely happen is overcooking or burning your food. All in all, I feel this was a good purchase.
