1. Raptor Gutter Guard

The Raptor guard is one of the best and top choices of customers on the market. It is equipped with a micro-mesh-type material that only allows water to pass through it. It also restrains all types of dirt and debris that can clog up and damage your gutters and eventually, your house. It is made up of the best material that can protect your gutter from pine needles, which are the biggest culprits behind gutter problems. It is because the micro strainer mesh is so fine that it does not allow anything except for water to pass through it. Even the smallest debris is not allowed to pass on. Lastly, it is made up of stainless steel, which makes it lighter in weight and also provides enough strength and sturdiness to last for years. This strength enables the guard to withstand extreme climate conditions.

Pros
  • Quick and easy installation
  • Superfine micro-mesh
  • Easy to clean
Cons
  • Can acquire rust after a long time of use
  • Cannot easily modify

Sample customer review… I am 65 old, in a two-story house with maple trees and gumball trees. So you know how much I just love to climb up a 32-foot ladder.I have tried different gutter guards. All were a total waste of my money. Yes, they had great reviews and said how great they worked on keeping leaves, pine needles, gumballs out of the gutters. ALL of them never worked for me. A friend of mine recommended this brand and stated he had them for three years and worked great for him. So I ordered a hundred feet. They are a piece of cake to install. They also came with plenty of self-drilling screws along with a magnetic bit. I had no problem sliding them under the shingles. Being stainless steel vs those plastic ones sure proved to make a difference. I wish I would have brought these before the leaves fell but I am lazy after retiring. I only brought enough to do the back part of the house but the way they look and installed I plan on buying another 100 feet for the front of the house. They are also very easy to cut to size and fit my gutters like a glove. Being stainless steel plus stiff I feel I don’t have to worry about rust or them falling apart. I don’t think you will be disappointed in the construction, how they look or install…Mike

2. FlexxPoint Gutter Guard

This amazing gutter guard features a three-point design that slows the flow of water over its surface. It means that it does not require any fasteners to install. If you use this gutter guard, the water flowing over it will have sufficient time to move on to the gutter. Unlike other gutter guards, this feature is specific to this product and can’t be found anywhere else.

Similarly, it is equipped with a profile that allows airflow underneath any leaves or debris that is crowding on the surface. With this important feature, it will be protected by insects. The package also includes steel fasteners to mount directly to the gutter lip and fascia board.

Pros
  • Comes in four-foot sections
  • Hard material
  • Light-weighted
  • High durability due to good quality material
Cons
  • The cleaning process of this guard is a little bit harder.
  • Can be blocked if a higher amount of dirt collects

Sample customer review… I installed these very unsure of whether it would do what it claims or if I would still need to clean my 300+ feet of gutters twice a year. I live in a heavily wooded lot and I’m glad to say that after its first fall the guards did exactly what the seller claimed it would do. Leaves fell on it and blew right off with the wind, without piling up. When they fell wet they collect on it for a while (a couple of days) and off they went with the wind once dry again. There are some pine needles stuck to holes here and there, but at this rate, I believe I’ll only need to remove a couple of sections on each end to clean it every three years or so. I’m extremely satisfied with it. Installation is easy and straightforward. I spent more time fixing my sagging gutters themselves than installing these guards. Can’t beat the cost-benefit these provide.

3. Ultra Flo Gutter Guard

The product is a gutter guard that is protected by Ultra Flo. It is like a jail that keeps all types of dirt and debris locked away from passing through it. Ultra Flo is a subsidiary brand of the U.A Aluminium Inc corporation, and this brand is one of the major providers of aluminum products and has been functional for decades. We have kept this product in the third palace due to its durability and the strength provided by it. Its leaf protection is one of the top contenders we have on the list.

Pros
  • Easy to install due to the inclusion of the snap locks
  • Affordable price
  • Extremely durable
Cons
  • Very likely to rust over time
  • Hardness is not that good

Sample customer review… I have had these on my 6-inch gutter for 4 months now. They work great. They were very easy to install and required no cutting. I thought it would take all day; my hired man put the 100 feet on in a couple of hours. They just snapped into place. The only drawback is that I need thirty more feet to do both sides of my house. The holes are just the right size to refuse the helicopter whirlybird seeds from the Ash and Maple trees from clogging up the guards. So the wind cleans off the seeds & leaves. Nothing gets into the gutters. I highly recommend these 6″ guards. I just wish they sold them in less than 100 feet, eh? I needed 130 feet so we left the end of one gutter that is farthest from the trees un-guarded.

4. EZ Gutter Guard

EZ Gutter Guard
1,270 Reviews

Some of the gutter guards can be very unattractive to have at your house. In this regard, the EZ gutter guard is the best choice. It will provide a sleep modern look that doesn’t detract from the house.

This product is high functioning as well. This gutter guard has all the positive traits on top of its appealing look. Its design is perfect for residential purposes with 5 inches of gutters. It is composed of aluminum, which provides strength and flexibility to last longer. It also has a coating of paint that can protect the guard from rusting over a long period of time.

Pros
  • Light in weight
  • Sturdy and heavy-duty
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Required occasional maintenance
  • Some little debris can pass through it due to large holes

Sample customer review… It installed easily and quickly, especially after learning some techniques with needle-nosed pliers to pull it up to lock above the gutter hanger screws and under the shingles. I installed it after getting new shingles and gutters and before the leaves came down from three trees: silver maple, locust, and pin oak. It kept out the bigger leaves perfectly (maple & oak). However, as I predicted, some of the tiny locust leaves and stems got through the screen and into the gutter. That wasn’t much of a problem, as they washed down to the end and I was able to clear them out. My goal was to significantly reduce or eliminate getting up on the roof and cleaning gutters, and that goal was mostly accomplished.

5. The Wedge Downspout Gutter Guard

We have here one of the most innovative products on the list. This gutter guard features a wedge shape that aids in the flow of water. As you can guess from the name, these usually fit in place on the downspouts in the gutters. This gutter guard is designed in such a way that it assists the water flow down the gutter into the downspout. It also filters and leaves behind the foliage and all types of dirt. This gutter guard is highly effective in its function and it can be fitted in almost any type or size of the downspout.

Pros
  • Very cost-effective
  • Easy setup and installation
  • Comes up in a pack of four
  • Smart design
Cons
  • Made of plastic which is not as durable as others
  • Cannot trap small debris or dirt

Sample customer review… I was only looking for a quick fix when I bought these. I was less than thrilled when I opened the package and realized it had been shipped: knocked down flat. The setup was very easy. Fast forward two very heavy spots of rain. They have worked much better than I expected. Most of my trees don’t drop their leaves until the new growth starts and I had to unclog my gutters after every rain in spring to avoid mold and mildew in the basement. These have been golden! I still need one more for my gutters as I have five downspouts, will repurchase, and still get my money’s worth.

  • Requires maintenance

Sample customer reviews… I read the reviews before I decided to buy the LeaveTek gutter guards on my new gutters I installed and I do not understand why there are negative reviews this is very easy to install I used my 3/8 cordless drill and when you put the screw in the magnetic bit that is all provided with the guards you can not put a lot of down pressure on the screw or it will come out of the bit the screws went in easy the guards fit like a glove in my 5-inch gutters and I installed them as directed from left to right I love how they interlock each other I looked at all others in the big box stores and I would have had to order them and they were all cheaper made and higher-priced all I have to say is thank you Leaf Tech for well made great paint on the covers and providing the screws and magnetic bit with the guards.

7. Gutter ProForm Guard

No products found.

Gutter Proform is another brand that people use as a gutter guard. The most interesting fact about this gutter guard is that it does not need any installation like others. It is composed of polyurethane, which is a simple design that is sturdier and more porous like steel wool.

The installation of this gutter guard is quite simple. All you need to do is insert it in the gutter. This is perfect for somebody looking for a low-maintenance option that doesn’t require professional installment.

This guard can filter all types of dirt and debris. Even the smallest particles can not pass through it. In this way, you will get a fully smoothed passing of water through your gutter without facing any problems.

Pros
  • Resistant to ultraviolet radiation
  • Easy to modify
  • Extremely easy to install
Cons
  • Fairly expensive
  • No germicidal coating

Sample customer review… Although we haven’t had a great deal of rain here in SoCal in the past few months, there’s been enough to show that this is a terrific product. The price seemed high when I bought this, but the quality of materials is high and the fit is perfect. My gutters, which are under a large oak tree, haven’t clogged a bit since these liners were installed. I just blow the leaves off the top once in a while. I’m also a female well past retirement age and I installed these myself in about 5 minutes per 10-foot section. UPDATE March 2017: After a very wet winter here in SoCal, this gutter guard has maintained its 5-star rating from me. Even with a layer of oak leaves on top of the foam, the downspout never got plugged during all of the rainy days. I did remove the foam during the fall and washed out some of the dirt which had accumulated in the cells of the foam, but it was extremely easy to remove and replace the foam in the gutter. With more rain this year, I don’t expect the foam to have accumulated much dirt. Highly recommended still!!!

8. Gutter Brush

Gutter Brush
751 Reviews

This is one of the most inexpensive gutter guards. This gutter guard features an easy installation without requiring any tools. It is designed in such a way that it consists of bristles that helps in reducing debris blockage. The bristols present on this design allow the water to pass through it easily without any dirt. It keeps all the leaves and the debris away and prevents your gutter from clogging. The most interesting thing about this gutter guard is that it does not require that much maintenance. It is because all the light-weight dirt is blown away by the wind.

These types of guards are the easiest ones to install. All they have is a body made up of fiber and bristle, which serves as a filter for dirt. Moreover, these yards have a universal size. It means that it can fit in every gutter easily. All you have to do is to place the guard in the gutter, and that is it.

Pros
  • Comes in three-foot sections and does not require fasteners
  • Prevents the build-up of snow and ice
  • Ultraviolet protected polypropylene bristles
Cons
  • Requires manual cleaning
  • No outlet for leaves or dirt to escape from

Sample customer review… It was as advertised — how nice! Went in as easy as it said, and the day after we got all the house done and the garage all done, it rained like crazy and wind blew leaves all over and yet the water went down the spout as it should and the leaves did NOT stop it! Also, the next day or two, most of the leaves dried out enough to blow away! The only thing I need now is another miracle product to magically rake up all the leaves and put them in the lawn disposal can! Thank you for a great product that worked like it said it would! Hip, hip, HOORAY!!!!!!

9. Amerimax Home Product Lock in Gutter Guard

The Amerimax Home Products Lock In Gutter guard is compatible with 4”, 5”, and 6” metal k-style gutters. With its tight expanded metal mesh pattern, keeping out debris will be a breeze. You’ll finally be able to keep your gutters flowing freely. This gutter guard is also well built with its durable powder-coated steel.
The easy “lock-in” installation will have you set up in no time. All you have to do is slide it under the first row and shingles, then lock the gutter guard to the front lip of the gutter.

Pros
  • Easy to use
  • No tools required
  • Rustproof
  • 10 Year Limited Warranty
  • Durable
Cons
  • Some debris may still get through

Sample customer review… Good quality, the mesh holes are small enough to keep the smaller helicopter seeds from getting through. I live in NE Ohio so these things are all over the place. We’ll see how they hold up with the snow, but according to other reviewers, they seem to hold up just fine, maybe some excess icicles in some instances. But so far so good with the storms we’ve had to this point over the summer. Install is fairly easy, just slip the top between the starter strip shingle and a top layer of shingle, and the seat right up against the top lip of the gutter. The hardest part of the install is cutting the screens, which isn’t too bad if you have a good pair of cutting shears. My roof isn’t too steep, so for steeper pitches, you may have to bend the top of the guard back when installing between shingles. Doesn’t seem to be a need to screw the ends down onto the gutter, but I might just to prevent any sort of shifting down the road. On the 90 degree corners, I simply overlap the screens (cut the groove of the overlapped layer off) and take a small wire and tie the screens together so no leaves/debris gets caught between the mesh. Overall good product!

10. A-M Aluminum Gutter Guard

The A-M Aluminum Gutter Guards’ best feature is the design. It uses Industrial Gauge and 100% Aluminum that will not rust. If your A-M Aluminum Guard Guard Rust, you’re covered by a lifetime warranty. That includes coverage for rotting or product self deterioration. While this gutter guard was built for hidden hangars, it works with all hangars, including K-Style hangars.

You won’t even notice it, as it’s practically invisible from the ground. The installation will be a breeze with the tabs for seamless joints. You are required to get ½ #8 Zip Screws for installation though.

Pros
  • Optimal for heavy rainfall
  • Lifetime warranty
  • Least noticeable gutter guard
  • Rustproof
  • Aluminum
Cons
  • Expensive
  • No zip screws included (zip screws needed for installation)

Sample customer review… I liked the ease of installation of this product. The aluminum construction makes it easy to cut and shape if necessary. It also makes it easy to bend if you’re swatting at a wasp that’s buzzing around your head, but it was easy to straighten out again. This product fits exactly as advertised if everything else is as it should be. I had to make modifications on one section of my house due to roofers installing two layers of drip edge, but I could still do 35 foot35-foot hour. In other areas where the drip edge wasn’t a problem, it went on without a hitch. Hint, be sure to buy the zip screws and follow directions. One thing that would be nice is the ability to order a quantity between 50 and 100 feet. So far I’ve bought 150 feet but I’ll still be about 10 feet short. My only option is to purchase another 50 feet and have 40 feet unused or go to a big box store and buy 10 feet of some other kind since this brand isn’t available at home improvement stores in my area. In retrospect, I would’ve installed a few extra hangers for added support but I believe the way this product overlaps end to end will be strong enough for my application. This product is the least expensive I’ve found anywhere if you buy 100 or more feet at a time. It says it’s guaranteed for a lifetime. Overall, I’m happy with it.
