1. TaoTronics SoundSurge 90

[amazon box=”B084MKNGSQ” description=” ” rating=”4.5″]

If you are someone who is on a budget, then the SoundSurge 90 is a good option for those who are on a budget. The ANC support will be the biggest aspect for you, as it will give you the sound quality you are looking for. It may not have the full noise canceling effect like higher quality headphones, yet the headphones will be able to produce aspects that will give you a similar effect. The headphone will execute well at low-frequency sounds but tends to have a hard time with high-frequency sounds.

These headphones are geared for bass, but the treble in the headphones are also magnified to balance out all the sounds. This is an aspect that may show that they are slightly loud at first, and why the mids are executed. With just about anything you listen to, you should get a pleasant sound that reflects a higher value then what the price suggests.

Another impressive aspect is the battery life which allows you to have 35 hours of battery life and 30 hours with ANC on. In just a five-minute charge, you can enjoy music for two hours. The full time to charge the headphones only takes a mere 45, and this is due to the USB-C.

Specifications:

  • Form factor: Over-ear
  • Wireless
  • 40 mm dynamic driver
  • ANC

Sample Customer Review… I was skeptical at first: noise-canceling headphones with good sound quality for $70? I’ve had these over-ear headphones for two days and I’m kicking myself that I didn’t buy them sooner! After a quick charge, I tried them out while reading in the backyard: AMAZING! No more sounds of leaf blowers or kids jumping on the trampoline, just pure sweet music. I’m not an audiophile, but I like all kinds of music, from classical to heavy metal to mellow vocals. No matter what type of music or how loud I played it, the music was clear and there was no distortion. I only tried the loudest setting for a minute because these headphones have the power to make a painfully loud sound. I haven’t worn them for 35 hours yet, but after two days of pretty intensive use, the “connect” prompt says I still have a “high” battery level. I’m really happy I bought these Bluetooth TaoTronics Noise Cancelling Headphones!

2. Tribit XFree Tune

[amazon box=”B0759QFPQ3″ description=” ” rating=”4.6″]

The Tribit XFree Tune makes listening simple and timely as it can support a full 40 hours of listening with just one full charge. This should allow you to listen to music, or any other audio for a very long period of time without having to worry about the headphones dying. A downside is that there is no USB-C support, so you will need a micro-USB to charge the device.

Comfort is always important, and that’s exactly what you get with the adjustable headband and nice ear cups that will help you to listen for hours. You can put these away with ease as they can collapse when you need to put them away when on the move.

The Tribit XFree Tune delivers a deep bass with boosted treble, and a min-range that will give you the sound you desire. The sound when you first listen to them will shock you with the sound of higher quality than what is expected. It also comes with ANC which will deliver another quality aspect that all wireless headphone lovers will enjoy about the headphones. Hand-free calling is also an option with 4.1 bluetooth technology that will provide you with a stable connection for when you need to clearly communicate on the phone with any individual.

Specifications:

  • Form factor: over-ear
  • 40 mm driver
  • ANC
  • 4.1 bluetooth technology

Sample Customer Review… I bought these because I wanted quality at an affordable price point. In the world of electronics, small brands that sell cheaply priced items are rarely famous for quality. What I found, in reading reviews from reputable sources (CNET and other audiophile blogs), and from reading the Amazon customer reviews was consistency that these would provide a solid product that could compete with much more expensive headphones in sound and build quality. When I received them, I was not disappointed. The pairing was simple and fast. The controls were intuitive. The cups were large enough to accommodate my large-ish ears. The headphones easily fit my head with several notches to spare (I wear a 7 3/4 hat, so that is not always the case). They feel weighty and the materials do not feel cheap or fragile, at least no more than a pair of Beats or Bose. Lastly, the sound quality wins me over completely. There is no ridiculously heavy bass, no loss of quality at volume, no noticeable lag when watching a movie, and lots of detail and clarity to the sound, particularly in the mids. Listening to music, one can easily pick out the subtle tone of each instrument. It’s incredible for the fact that these are $50 Bluetooth headphones from a lesser-known brand. Also, with a quick registration on their website, these babies carry up to 30 months of replacement warranty. Can’t beat that. I am completely sold. Will buy more Tribit products in the future. Proud to wear that logo. People might not get it, but once they hear them they will.

3. Enacfire E90

[amazon box=”B08FMH8W66″ description=” ” rating=”4.5″]

Similar in the design to Airpods, the Enacfire E90 have stems that have been shortened and closer to the bud which gives it a different look. With an advanced audio chipset, the E90 produces great sound for the money as it has a reasonable base and excellent detail. Along with this they will fit nicely in your ear and won’t discomfort you at all, and another aspect is that they have an IPX8 rating which means they are completely waterproof.

When you need to pick up the phone you can use the hands free experience that allows you to talk while using the earbuds. They don’t have active noise canceling, but they have passive noise canceling so when you need to take a call you can clearly hear what is being said clearly.

You can also use touch controls to lower and raise the volume with tap gestures, similar to airpods. It even has a gaming mode with four taps that will allow you to enter the new mode. With that being said, you won’t have to worry about the headphones dying as it has a 48 hour playtime without a charge which will give you plenty of listening time.

Specifications:

  • Advanced audio chipset
  • Wireless calling
  • IPX8 Quality

Sample Customer Review… I was looking for a pair of wireless earbuds that wasn’t going to break the bank but also had to have sound and connection properties like it did. These earbuds lived up to all my expectations. They sound great and never have a connection lost. I can walk around my house with these in without even a skip. If there is anything that these earbuds could be improved on is that they are a little slippery when removing from the ear. Be very careful around places where dropping these would be devastating like water, Grand Canyon, sky diving, etc. battery life is amazing too, I wear these all day, every day, and they last the whole time, and I re-charge the case every 3 days, amazing. If you are considering these vs AirPods or Samsung Galaxy buds, I had both, these are definitely a contender, and if you consider cost as a factor then these win hands down. The big-name brands might have better features but in no way are those features worth 3 to 4 times more, or in no way are those earbuds 3 to 4 times better.

4. Skullcandy Riff Headphones

[amazon box=”B07HBCWB8Z” description=” ” rating=”4.5″]

Overall, these are another pair of Skullcandy that are good and offer a true experience of a wireless pair of headphones with the newest Bluetooth, and active noise cancellation. They are elegant and have a great sound quality which allows you to just be in your own world, with its noise cancelation. They don’t have a cord for when your battery runs out but that doesn’t really matter when you have a 12-hour battery life

Specifications:

  • Bluetooth 5.0
  • 12 hours battery life

Sample Customer Review… These are a FANTASTIC pair of headphones! Although, since they’re budget headphones, you can’t expect the highest build quality. The plastic does feel cheap, but as long as you don’t abuse them, you’ll be fine! So let’s talk about the audio quality. The audio quality is great for such a low price point. The bass is perfect, with no large lack and no obnoxious amount of bass. I did have to grow used to the treble through, I have sensitive hearing, and sometimes too high of a treble will kill my listening experience. But now they’re great! The build quality is alright. But what’s to expect out of a pair of $50 headphones? The plastic is somewhat flimsy but I assume that helps to absorb shock when dropped from head height. Comfort! They are SO comfortable! The earmuffs are very soft and fit perfectly on the surface of my ears. But keep in mind, these are NOT noise canceling and do NOT surround the entire ear, so you may deal with a little exterior noise when walking around others. So far the battery life has been great. I charged them up several hours prior to using them, and they’ve lasted quite a few hours! Overall, I believe these headphones are more focused on entry-level users who have never experienced wireless headphones before. But they’re great!

5. Cowin E7

[amazon box=”B019U00D7K” description=” ” rating=”4.4″]

The headphones sound great for their price and should definitely be considered for a top 10 based on what it offers for such a small price point. They are great for a budget to buy. However, their audio leak at high volume is noticeable and is not as good for music genres that don’t require a high base. Furthermore, its durability is quite average compared to higher-end models. Hence these headphones are a must-buy for those who want a high-end experience of what Bluetooth headphones offer but don’t want to spend too much money on it.

Specifications:

  • 30 hour
  • Bluetooth 4.0

Sample Customer Review… I travel by air approximately 20 times a year and finally decided to invest in a pair of bluetooth headphones with noise cancelling when I started to shop I immediately realized they were say huge price variance As you move from manufacturer to manufacturer chose this particular model because it seemed the possess all the features I was interested in at a reasonable cost I’ve now Taken 3 trips by air since I received these Bluetooth headphones and I couldn’t be more impressed first of all the styling appealed to me the function of having the ear sections completely rotatable is a huge Advantage for packing the battery life is more than acceptable and they are incredibly comfortable almost pillow like against your ears but the real test for me was the noise cancelling feature having already owned a pair of bluetooth headphones without a noise cancelling feature it was an easy comparison for me to make and I immediately was impressed that when I had the noise canceling feature on ambient engine noise was almost 100% eliminated I’ve used them to listen to music as well as movies as I travel and I’m very pleased with the sound quality the other nice feature is that you get to choose whether the noise cancelling feature is on or off so when wearing them around the house where ambient noise isn’t a problem you don’t have to have this feature on and your sound quality is a little bit better if you’re looking for a pair of bluetooth headphones with active noise cancelling that is literally hundreds of dollars less than the big-name brands but delivers in a huge way I would highly recommend these.

6. SoundPeats True Wireless

[amazon box=”B07MX1XL1V” description=” ” rating=”4.3″]

These earbuds really surprised me. When I started writing this article, I did not expect anything like these earbuds. They are truly wireless and have a design that rivals earbuds from major tech companies like Samsung’s Galaxy Buds. I tried looking at all of their negative reviews, but all of the negative reviews have been responded to by the company and all of the consumers have gotten replacements or refunds.

This company is really on top of their customer service and has produced a technological marvel which rivals really expensive audio tech. This all-around marvelous pair of earbuds is definitely a must-buy and I am surprised that this is the first time I heard about these earbuds.

Specifications:

  • Bluetooth 5.0
  • 5 hours on earbuds, 15 on charging case

Sample Customer Review… I don’t normally write reviews, but after searching for a pair of truly wireless buds under $100 for weeks and running up against fake reviews and what seemed like junk products I want others to know. These are the real deal. For a little over $30, these are amazing. I pulled them out of the package and opened the case. The case is very satisfying, it has a magnet in the lid so it closes and stays closed with a “snap”. The buds were easy to take out of the case, no fiddling with them. The buds were charged out of the box so I opened my phone, paired them in under a minute and they both worked flawlessly. The buds fit snug in the ears, I haven’t run with them yet but I bounced around the house and they aren’t going anywhere. The rubber ear pads aren’t the most comfortable but are easily replaced with the foam kind available on Amazon. The sound was way better than I expected, with good range with the bass coming through nicely. There was no noticeable lag while listening to music or while watching a video on YouTube. I am very happy with the purchase

7. Skullcandy SESH

[amazon box=”B07VPX4W35″ description=” ” rating=”4.1″]

Overall, these headphones are reported to be very good for being something out of Skullcandy. They have all the features which you would find in a modern set of earbuds and would expect from a pair of earbuds from an audio conglomerate. They are elegant and have a great sound quality which allows you to just be in your own world, with its noise cancelation. I dislike any devices that were released in 2020 and are released in 2020 as type C connectors are much better and allow for faster charging.

Specifications:

  • Bluetooth 5.0
  • 10 hours of total battery life

Sample Customer Review… Love love love these earphones! I missed out when they were on sale before the holidays however I have no regret in paying full price for them. They fit really well with the tips that come on them but there is a smaller and larger one included if you need to switch it out. The battery life of the earphones I could say in active use will last about 3 hours but after about an hour of charging it’s at full charge. The charging case is cute and compact. The case itself holds enough juice to last to the end of the week with regularly charging the earphones. I’ve always loved the Skullcandy brand so when I can across this completely wireless I knew I was gonna get a quality product.

8. Back-Bay 2-in-1 Earbuds EQ40

[amazon box=”B0757WVSN8″ description=” ” rating=”4.0″]

These earbuds have excellent audio as they were designed to prioritize their audio output than any of their other functions, which includes their mic. This may be great for some people, but a turn-off for others. When I put a con for their ear-tip, it wasn’t exactly honest as these earbuds are great for people who have small ears, like me. However, for those with large ear canals, these earbuds may seem a bit too small for you.

The company addresses this by giving an assortment of all kinds of different earbud shapes and the earbuds themselves have a sort of hook on their top part, to allow them to stay latched on your ears for long periods of time. If you want an audio set that is durable, has great sound, and has tons of fit options, you can’t go wrong with the EQ 40s.

Specifications:

  • Playtime: 6.5 hours
  • Bluetooth 4.0

Sample Customer Review… Absolutely amazing sound!!! Better than $100+ Bose headphones. So I needed a wired connection for training at work but also wanted a useful pair of headphones to use with my iPhone X. I found these and the price was decently right. I just tried them out listening to my favorite music streaming platform and holy man! These headphones have surpassed my Bose wired headphones that were fraying and the rubber coating on the wires were falling off. The bass is amazing and the sound quality overall was so good that I ran back to my phone and had to write this review! There is no quality lost through the Bluetooth connection.(I’ve had others that did fail on that front.) I love that it has the option to also use with the wire for the fact that it is a huge bummer when you have Bluetooth headphones and you’re jamming at work and then you hear “battery low…battery low”. Problem solved and the sound is not tinny or flat. Fantastic job Back Bay Audio! Huge fan!

9. Anker Soundcore Life Q20

[amazon box=”B07NM3RSRQ” description=” ” rating=”4.5″]

The Soundcore Life Q20 is one of the headphone pairs that set the tone for Anker’s recent rise to prominence as a budget brand. These budget headphones have Active Noise Cancelling built-in, and though they are not as good as their predecessors the Soundcore Life Q30, they are a fantastic deal at the price.

Much of this is due to the exceptional battery life, which may last up to 60 hours with no ANC and 40 hours with it on.You can obtain up to 4 hours of playback by utilizing the fast charging feature if you run out of battery, so you can get back to listening quickly. The build quality is not as nice as the newer Q30 version, but the fit is comfortable and the weight of the body is light.

What you hear is essentially what you get when it comes to audio quality. The Q20, unlike other Anker headphones, does not operate with the company’s superb software for sound customization. Even so, if you’re seeking decent bass and a solid balance of mids and highs, these headphones will suffice for the price. The Active Noise Cancelling is not the finest you will find, but it works well as you would expect for a device of this type.

Specifications

  • Bluetooth 5.0
  • 40 MM Driver Size
  • Battery Life 60 hours (40 hours with ANC)
  • Quick Charge

Sample Customer Review… You can not beat these for the price. I compared these to my friend’s Bose QC 35 noise-canceling headphones and these work better! The sound quality at high volumes could be a little cleaner, but it works great for what I need. These are great for mowing the lawn and blocking the lawnmower noise from my zero turns. My other set of over-the-ear Anker headphones (Soundcore Vortex) need to be at basically full volume to hear the music while mowing. These do not need to be thanks to the hybrid active noise cancellation. I also really like the folding design of these. I wish they came with a better case though as I plan on taking them to Europe. A hard case would be better for a carry-on plane ride to protect them. That is really my only big complaint. The bass-up feature is neat and works pretty well if you are into that. The battery life is amazing on these as well. I have had them for a week with daily usage and no charges yet! Overall I am very satisfied with the Anker Soundcore Life Q20 headphones. If you are in the market for a good quality set of noise-canceling headphones you will not be disappointed with these.

10. JLab JBuds Air

[amazon box=”B07HGL3J31″ description=” ” rating=”4.2″]

Truly wireless earbuds may feel freeing, and JLab’s JBuds Air does a great job at conveying that feeling. Many of the features you would expect from a truly wireless earbud, like auto on/off and play/pause as well as autonomous earbud audio playback, are included. That means you can only use a single earbud for phone calls, or to keep one ear exposed to noise from outside. The JBuds Air can go for a run or a long training session even if it starts pouring, thanks to its IP55 dust and water resistance.

There is nothing really startling about the sound quality. The sound profile favors increased bass and treble, although the bass is heavily reliant on tight seals with the earbuds to stand out, which may be achieved by using the various-sized ear hooks and tips included in the packaging. The treble isn’t particularly piercing though. Even if the soundstage isn’t as broad as comparable truly wireless earbuds, it all comes through with a good dynamic range.

Without the charging case, the earbuds can last up to 4 hours on a single charge, with the case the earbuds can last up to another 14 hours. The case features an integrated charging cord, in keeping with JLab’s aesthetic, so you will have to be careful handling the case, but if it does manage to break it is easily replaceable.

Specifications

  • Bluetooth 5.0
  • 8mm Driver Size

Sample Customer Review… I think JLab hit a home run with this one. I just got mine today and fresh out of the box they were halfway charged and ready to go. The sound quality is clear but bass-heavy without playing with the EQUALIZER settings. The best sound for me is the factory setting they call signature sound. The fit is very comfortable and the earbuds are very light in my ears. Although I did use the larger size ear tips as I like to seal out as much of the outside world as possible. Connectivity is rock solid so far and they can get pretty loud too. But for $50 bucks you really can’t go wrong at this price for what you’re getting. I just ordered the Earin M-2 for $250 and I’m praying that they’re at least on the same level of sound quality that these are. Well I hope this review was helpful in making your next purchase of wireless earbuds

Before Buying the Best Wireless Headphones Under $50

Terminology

Now let’s talk about Bluetooth. Without boring you with all the different versions, its origins, and how it works. I will only talk about the two Bluetooth types that might be included with the headphones on the list. Bluetooth 4.2, is a bit older but can transfer data up to 1 Mbps, which is already much better than most headphones. Also, it has a range of effects of 30 feet, within which the headphone will work fine. After Bluetooth 4.2, comes the newest Bluetooth 5.0, which can transfer data at a speed up to 2 Mbps and has a range of 260 feet.

Price

The cheapest is not always the best and neither is the most expensive. Hopefully, I have enough diversity in my list to prove both points. If you are truly lost and don’t know where to start at all, then create a budget for yourself. Try to find an item that matches your budget and resonates with you.

Bluetooth

At the end of the day a Bluetooth 4.2 works just as well as 5.0 so don’t limit yourself by thinking that you must absolutely have the latest hardware. You don’t need it. Having a newer Bluetooth does allow faster data transfer, but so does Bluetooth 4.2 if the source of your music, your phone, is directly in your pocket.

Battery Life

All headphones on this list have relatively the same battery life. However, the earbuds with cases allow you to charge them on multiple occasions, which significantly improves their battery life, just something to keep in mind.

Style

I tried including the headphones which look the most stylish from the rest, so go ahead and pick the one you like the best.

Comfortability

In this list, there are a variety of ways a product may express comfortability. Whether it is non-existent, has interchangeable ear tips are is simply comfy and snug for your ear, the list has diversity for all of it.

Sound

Sound is absolute while shopping for new headphones. If you want to swim or run or simply be able to be aware of the exterior world, don’t go for the ones that block external noises or have active noise cancellation. If you want a hybrid or simply wanna be left alone, then grab the noise cancellation ones.

Buying Guide: Things to Consider When Purchasing the Best Wireless Headphones Under $50

In the case of lower-priced headphones, you are not going to have an immense amount of high-end specifications to choose from as if you were purchasing a set of headphones that are 5 to even 10 times as much. However, there are still some things that need to be taken into consideration to aid in shopping for those budget-friendly headphones.

Prioritize Your Needs

The prices of the less expensive headphones in the industry are usually determined by their specification and features. You will have to pay a premium for specifications such as ultra high-fidelity audio, noise-canceling, built-in microphone, or extremely long battery life. Understanding this, you utilize it to your advantage while shopping for cheaper headphones by deciding which features you can live without. This is going to necessitate some sacrifice, but you should be able to strike a balance or narrow it down to a pair of headphones that best suits your tastes.

Consider Your Use

Your quest for a new pair of headphones should be like buying a bicycle helmet or sleeping bag with a focus on your intended application. Consider how you plan to use your new headphones and use that as a starting point for narrowing down your options.

Over-Ear Headphones vs On-Ear Headphones

It is also good to take into consideration both on-ear and over-ear headphone options when looking at these budget headphones. The decision to use one over the other is entirely based on personal preference. If you choose to use headphones only at work or home, for example, you may choose the extra comfort of over-ear style headphones. On the other hand, if you travel frequently or have limited space, you may prefer the compact nature of an on-ear headphone. During our research over the last few years, we discovered that either type of headphones can sound great. Therefore, we recommend that you reconsider how you plan to use your headphones and choose the model that best suits your needs.

Beware Of Imitators

Everyone loves to save money, and counterfeiters in the electronics industry are conscious of this and have been making copies or knockoffs of famous products for decades. Although counterfeiting used to be limited to Jordans, handbags, and premium watches, it is now completely integrated into the electronics industry. Many of these knockoffs can be bulk ordered and are shipped from countries like China, which are then resold to websites such as eBay and Amazon to unknowing customers trying to save a couple of dollars.

Check For A Warranty

The truth of the matter is that low-cost goods stand a higher chance of failing or malfunctioning compared to the high-cost rivals, and this is no different when it comes to cheap headphones. Although you are taking a small risk by not opting for a high-end pair, going for a pair that is backed by a warranty is a great way to protect your investment. Warranties are rarely advertised for models at this price point, which is an effort by the manufacturer to save some money. If you do some searching, you will find that most respected brands do sell factory warranties.

Do Your Research

Reading feedback on online stores from actual customers with long-term ownership experience with any headphone model is one of the best ways to learn about the overall quality of a budget pair of headphones. Wear and tear from flexions are going to be one of the most common areas to focus on. The type of cable jacket, wires, interior, and exterior cover used in a set of headphones will decide whether they will have longevity or stop functioning after just a few uses.

Conclusion

So you have made it this far huh? Congratulations, you must really want to make sure that you have the best headphones for your value. Personally, I recommend Skullcandy earbuds SESH as they have fun features like an action touch and are completely wireless. Skullcandy Riff is also a great option if you want a cheaper alternative with a bit more compromises but still with a fair-priced set of headphones.

However, as always my absolute recommendation will be SoundPeats for its amazing quality and its great price point. However, this is your life and remember that this list was based on my rankings, which involves a slight bias preference, so treat yourself well and pick whichever one makes you happiest at the end of the day, because that is what truly matters.
