1. Aftershokz AS600SG

These unique styles of headphones are perfect if you are cycling outdoors and prefer to hear the traffic and be aware of your surroundings. This is the only product on this list that offers bone conduction which has also helped many people with hearing problems. These headphones are almost like the wire behind the head but instead of the wire, the material is a wrap-around titanium frame that is lightweight but still stable. The material also repels sweat, dust, and moisture and easy to clean if you are on an extreme mudding trip or spilling anything on your headphones.

This product has an open ear design leaving your ear open referred to as the bone conduction design. This makes it available to hear outside noises for your safety or if someone comes to talk to you during your work out. You can easily hear the person speaking to you without having to take your headphones off. The sound still travels to your ear so you can still enjoy your music as you cycle.

The Aftershokz have about 6 hours of battery life and noise-canceling mics to ensure that all your calls are clear. This product would be good for people who often feel uncomfortable with earbuds after some time of use. This is also good for safety because as much as you should enjoy your music on a cycling trip it is also important to stay aware of your surroundings.

  • Perfect for all ear sizes since it is not designed to go in your ear
  • The bone conduction design is also helpful for people with hearing problems
  • The around the head material is not adjustable
  • Trouble working after a short time of usage

Sample Customer Review…Great headphones for running and playing sports I would have liked to have a back rod that could be tightened or secured to the head to prevent it from moving, and that the area that goes on the ears could be modeled on the basis of the conformation of the skull in that dot.

For the pesto nothing to say, excellent headphones, the audio quality is not that of a headphone around-ear or over-ear, obviously but really more than enough for the intended use, with the difference that these they leave their ears free and are really light. Excellent durability, when they are in standby they consume practically nothing! In addition, these cost well 25 euros less than the others and the only difference I can find is that these come with a simple bag that contains the headphones mentor enelloother case there is a semi-rigid case. The package comes out the handlebar, headphones, a pair of plugs, and the micro USB cable. Great!

2. Anker Wireless Headphones

The Anker Wireless Headphones come with multiple ear tips to pick the one that is best for you and comes with a removable earwig placed behind the ear tip. The earwig is added to provide more stability during intense high energy workouts. After that, the earpiece goes to the front and over the top where it sits behind the ear. This feature helps with more security as it is more difficult to just fall off during your workout. The whole headphones have a submarine structure making them completely waterproof when you are pushing yourself through rain or sweat it will not ruin your workout.

This product has up to 18 hours of playtime and if you are in a rush just 10 minutes of the charger will give you up to 3 hours of playtime. With the high stability, it offers these headphones come at a budget-friendly price of just below $30. Not only that but the battery life is greater than other headphones that cost more than $100.This is a great product with some amazing features but if you can not imagine yourself comfortable with the design that is okay because I have listed other budget-friendly products with some great features as well.

  • Longer Battery Life
  • More Security
  • Battery life lowers after frequent usage
  • Cord Insulation is not durable

Sample Customer Review…You can not beat these for the price. I compared these to my friend’s Bose QC 35 noise-cancelling headphones and these work better! The sound quality at high volumes could be a little cleaner, but it works great for what I need. These are great for mowing the lawn and blocking the lawnmower noise from my zero turns. My other set of over-the-ear Anker headphones (Soundcore Vortex) need to be at basically full volume to hear the music while mowing. These do not need to be thanks to the hybrid active noise cancellation. I also really like the folding design of these. I wish they came with a better case though as I plan on taking them to Europe. A hard case would be better for a carry-on plane ride to protect them. That is really my only big complaint. The bass-up feature is neat and works pretty well if you are into that. The battery life is amazing on these as well. I have had them for a week with daily usage and no charges yet! Overall I am very satisfied with the Anker Soundcore Life Q20 headphones. If you are in the market for a good quality set of noise-cancelling headphones you will not be disappointed with these.

3. Anker Soundcore Life Dot 2

This product is another Anker brand with a higher price of around $50. These are wireless earbuds with silicone air wings to help secure the earbuds in your ear. These earbuds have 100 hours of playtime on a single charge which is 8 hours. If you are in a rush and have forgotten that you are due for a charge just ten minutes of charging is 90 minutes of playtime. This battery life is a lot greater than others that are more expensive so if you are interested in a semi budget-friendly headphone and great battery life then this would be a potential product for you.

They are built with a more balanced sound with 8mm drivers. These drivers deliver 40% more bass and 100% more treble. With just a one-step pairing the earbuds automatically connect to your last-used device when they are taken out of the case.

The earbuds are also water-resistant and available to make calls. I would recommend this product for people who are not looking to spend a lot but still want a decent headphone with security for your cycling trips. A lot of other products do not necessarily focus on the quality of sound when it comes to headphones for cycling or working out in general. Instead, the focus is more on if the headphone will fall out during your workout so make sure there is a good sound quality because there is no point in buying headphones for cycling if you can’t hear what you are listening to.

  • Budget-Friendly
  • Offers more security
  • Sound is a better quality
  • The volume could be louder
  • Comfortability could be improved

Sample Customer Review…These earbuds prove that you do NOT have to spend hundreds of dollars to get excellent-sounding wireless buds. I have owned several brands of wireless earbuds over the last 3 years. And I can tell you that these are some of the best-sounding earbuds periods. They have crystal clear highs, solid mids, and deep bass that hits hard and tight. None of the muddy bass from cheap-sounding earbuds overwhelms all other frequencies. You will hear every sound that the artist put into the song, even at low volume. But if you like it loud you also won’t be disappointed. No distortion even at high volume. And you simply can’t beat the battery life. They are also amazingly comfortable. I have worn them for over 6 hours straight multiple times and honestly forget that I have them in. Just crystal clear music floating into my ear. And the little “wings” keep them snug in your ear even while jumping, running, etc. Excellent for workouts. The bottom line is these are absolutely worth buying.

4. Bose SoundSport Free

The Bose SoundSport Free is a complete wireless Bluetooth earbud. The silicone that goes into your ear is also designed to where part of the silicone material sits on the outside area where you place your earbud. This design allows for a comfortable fit and more stability when you are cycling. These earbuds do not noise canceling but do block out enough ambient noise to focus on your workout. They include about 5 hours of playtime with an additional 10 hours when using the charging case. They have a microphone to take your calls anytime during your workout.

Since these do not have a connecting wire and if you are worried about losing a small earbud while you are cycling there is a Bose connect App where you can use the “Find my buds’ ‘ feature. These earbuds also sweat and water resistance so they can be used on the hottest days and the rainy days.

I would recommend the Bose SoundSport Free to those who are looking for something stable and very easy to keep up with if you are not fine with the wire sitting on the back of your head. This product also takes away the fear of losing them with their app feature.

  • Silicone material makes earbuds more stable than regular in-ear headphones
  • The “Find my buds” feature comes in handy
  • Perfect for constant moving activities or just relaxing
  • Sound fades out as you get farther from your device
  • The Left and Right earbud connects separately leaving one possibly disconnected if it is having trouble pairing to the device

Sample Customer Review…Only had it for a day now but so far turning it on and sinking it up to my phone was fast and easy, placing the earbuds in the charger due to the magnet-based charger is seamless, sound quality “not an audiophile” but I had these headphones at less than half and they sound crystal clear with booming bass Bose does live up to its name in quality and build. Just wish their app had an “EQ” setting so I could change the balance a little not that you need to but like to know that I have the choice. connectivity so far great no problems

5. Plantronics BackBeat FIT

The design is also like the Aftershokz AS600SG where it wraps around the back of your head almost like a headband rather than a wire. The silicone earbud slides into your ear rather than the ones that are placed inside then followed by a flexible earloop to wrap up and down the back of your ear. The Plantronics is also sweating and waterproof and the material allows for easy cleaning if anything is spilled.

The new backbeat app comes with customized features for you to even set a timer for your workout so that your playlist is not interrupted as well as voice control access. The app is great for people who are trying to focus during their cycling and would prefer not to be disrupted during their workout. There are not many features but just something small to make things easier for you during your workout.

Other features on the app are voice control and adjustments with time other than that there is not much so if you think you will be okay without the app then that is perfectly fine there are other products with more in-app features.

  • On-ear stability
  • Custom App features
  • Only comes in one size and not adjustable
  • Can be uncomfortable for longer workouts

Sample Customer Review…I purchased these because I was not inclined to pay the premium for beats true wireless headphones, and I am aware of Plantronic’s excellent reputation when it comes to computer headsets. So far, they have held up well. Feature-wise these were exactly what I was looking for; the headphones have high-end audio quality, great battery life, and good call quality. I have used the beep to find feature several times and it works well if the earbuds are charged and paired with your device.

There are some drawbacks. The base is not particularly prominent, the low battery reminders are more frequent than I would like, and the phone application is underdeveloped. Aesthetically, I don’t like the touch-sensitive side of the headphones. Also, while I don’t find the controls intuitive, they are at least serviceable.

Fit is great these things are never unstable, noise-canceling is pretty good. I don’t use the awareness feature, but it seems to work okay.

6. Jabra Elite Active 65t

People who are not fans of the Bose SoundSport Free have preferred the Jabra Elite. They are both true wirelesses and are Bluetooth. The Jabra Elite design is made a little different where most earbuds make the silicone material the part that keeps stability in the ear for the Jabra Elite the earbud itself is designed where one part is a little longer. This longer part of the earbud helps it sit in your ear for more stability. The Jabra Elite is also made for you to personalize your sound to the preferences you enjoy. To do this they offer a Jabra Sound app that is compatible with ios and Android users.

The Jabra Elite also offers one-touch Voice Assistant access. Whether you are using Alexa, Google, or Siri any of them can be accessed just by one touch. Using the pocket-friendly charging case allows up to 15 hours of use which is perfect for both works calls during the day and then an after-work cycling session. Going into more detail on the microphone of this product is that it has a 4 microphone technology to ensure that any calls taken have the best quality.

This product is perfect if you prefer to have the silicone earbud just to fit in but still want stability. The personalized sound is also a plus if you have a certain preference on how your audio sounds especially when you are working out.

  • Doesn’t have trouble connecting to other devices such as a laptop, tablet, or iPad.
  • Exceptional quality and comfort
  • Not as durable
  • Audio Often skips if earbuds are not close to the device

Sample Customer Review…I have been looking at these earbuds for quite a while but was hesitant to pull the trigger because of a number of less than glowing reviews, specifically the reviews that noted they dropped connection fairly often. But I own other Jabra headsets that I like quite a bit, so I finally purchased a pair, and I have to say that I am completely delighted with these earbuds! I’ve been using them for about a month in a variety of situations: biking, working out, on a plane, in the car, on conference calls, and they are easily the best wireless headset/earbuds that I have owned. Great fit in my ear, easy to connect and use, really good sound, and despite what others have said the phone app is pretty straightforward and easy to use. But here is the best part, in the month that I have been using these, the earbuds have NEVER lost their connection with the phone, and I have never had any skips while playing music (using with an iPhone 7). And as others have mentioned, this is the first headset I have used for calls where I don’t always have the volume on maximum because they are plenty loud. Very happy with this purchase.

7. Bose SoundSport Pulse

The Bose SoundSport Pulse are silicone earbuds connected by a wire with accessible buttons on the wire. The silicon also goes out and sits in the area directly above where the earbud is inserted. Other headphones that have this silicone design are a bit smaller so it comes down to preference. This helps with more security as you are moving around during your workout. It has up to 6 hours of battery life with an active EQ to be balanced at any volume level.

This is another great lightweight headphone for cycling if you prefer less material on your ear. The Bose Pulse also comes with a case for you to put your earbuds in after your workout and can hook onto your bag. The Bose products are one of the most popular or well known because of its sound quality so if you’re prioritizing quality of battery life this would be a good potential choice.

  • Outstanding sound quality
  • Multiple earbuds size included within the purchase
  • Problems with longevity
  • Battery life shortens over time

Sample Customer Review…The earbuds I bought were refurbished so I bought the extended warranty. So glad I did. I bought these in Spet 2020 I listened to music or phone calls. I just started listening to audiobooks while walking and during activities. And the battery does not hold up Iwhen I unplug says 100% charged I go for a walk and am only getting 30 min. Now after research, I am seeing comments about the battery, it has made me think I am going to try a new charger 1st and see if it’s that. The extended warranty company will take them back and give me a gift card to get new ones. So it was worth it.

8. Jaybird 4x

The Jaybird X4 has a sports fit design that runs over your ears to ensure stability for your cycling journey. The silicone material sits in your ear allowing a snug fit that stays in place as you cycle or on your other exercise journeys. The earbuds are connected by a wire that sits on the back of your head that can be tightened if you do not prefer the wire to dangle. The Jaybird X4 is Bluetooth and has 8 hours of playtime with a built-in mic and other controls on the wire.

The design is sweat and waterproof to allow you to go on your cycling journey in all conditions. You also have the ability to custom EQ where you adjust the sound levels to your likely and it saves for future uses after that.

I would recommend this to cyclists or other active people who are looking for a Bluetooth headphone but are anxious about losing one of the earbuds as you cycle. The over the ear design helps with that as well as the silicone material fitting in your ear. What also helps is the earbuds being connected by a lightweight wire that can be adjusted to your preference while other wire connected earbuds do not have this feature.

  • EQ setting to adjust audio to your preference
  • Sweat & WaterProof
  • Remote buttons are easy to access during your workout
  • Earbud fits with comfortability
  • Battery power lowers after frequent use
  • May have trouble staying connected if the device is too far

Sample Customer Review…I just received my X4’s yesterday, so I’m writing this review with a grain of salt. First, the sound quality is amazing once you get the sound balance set up. Fortunately, that didn’t take long as I went into the Jaybird app and was able to find and save a preset called “The Perfect Balance” and now these are by far my favorite headphones. Second, I noticed a lot of reviews detailing issues with the battery burning out. This is most likely because the X4 are quick charging. If you leave your headphones charging for too long you will fry the battery. So, I will only be charging these for thirty minutes at a time. That seems appropriate since my max workout would most likely be three hours, and these only need thirty minutes to give me three hours worth of charge.

Finally, I will update this review in the next couple of weeks to verify what I believe to be true. That being, that the X4 is well worth the price for a great set of workout headphones.

Almost a month later, and everything has held true. Don’t overcook your battery, people!

9. Sony WF-SP700N

The Sony wireless headphones are in-ear headphones that connect to your device through Bluetooth. This product is noise-canceling which is amazing for indoor cycling and you want to focus on yourself. If you would like to hear outside noises there is an ambient sound mode that blends your music with the sound of your surroundings. The battery life is up to 9 hours and comes with a pocket friendly lightweight charging case. The sound provides an extra bass for those who are wanting to immerse themselves in their music as they cycle.

The silicone earbud is built in the ear and designed to place just right outside the area you insert your earbud for maximized security. This is another perfect product for those who are not a fan of the extra parts to the headphones such as the behind the head wire. The grip is amazing for this product but the earpiece itself is a bit large. It has a rectangular shape and can feel a bit big for people with smaller ears.

  • NoiseCancelling
  • Ambient Noise Mode
  • Excellent grip and security
  • Low Battery Life
  • The sound quality needs improvement

Sample Customer Review…My husband has these I was looking for a pair of headphones that wouldn’t hurt my ears typically the earbuds that go into your ears hurt my ears because I have small ear holes but with these, it does not hurt there’s a little piece on there that hooks onto your ear and it makes wearing them very comfortable I bought these so I could do school work on the computer without having to bother everybody else in the room I really like the battery life on these it’s around 3 hours and you can charge the case for about an hour and then you can wear them again I would buy these again for sure.

Things to Consider Before Buying The Best Wireless Headphones for Cycling

Before purchasing your headphones here are some factors to consider that can help find the best product for you.

There are many different designs and different adjustments within those designs. The main ones are truly wireless earbuds, wire connect earbuds, and over the ear behind the head. I would recommend the true wireless earbuds for those who feel that they may get easily irritated or uncomfortable with wire or over the ear.

Within the truly wireless earbuds, the earpieces are designed in different ways to maximize security. Of course, no one wants to be cycling and the earbud falls out which is why it is important to look at what each product does to ensure stability.

Next are the wire connect earbuds. These are still lightweight but offer buttons on the wire and are great for those afraid of losing one earbud. Within this design, there are ways that the product is made stable either by the earbud silicone or the earpiece itself.

Again it is your preference when it comes to security. As for the behind the head, headband, this is rated the most secure because it is more like a band rather than a wire. Unfortunately, these are not adjustable but they are flexible so double check to see if they would be a good fit for you.

How you want to spend your money is all your preference but I have created this list of things to consider to hopefully find the product that is best for you. Headphones can get expensive so it is great to prioritize what you are looking for. For example, if you want noise canceling but want more security then prioritize security because you can find good headphones and the only difference is one has noise-canceling but is over $100 and ask yourself if you are wanting to pay more for that feature. Overall your money is your decision but it’s better to know the qualities you want so that you are getting the most out of your product.

Each of the headphones on the list has different features that seem nice but it’s also important to note if these features will come in handy when you are cycling or will just sit there unused. For example, a lot of these products have an app for your headphones to add features and make things easy. It is understandable if you rather not deal with a whole app and just want the headphones to use. On the other hand, if you find that the app can make your experience better then that is a feature to consider. Deciding what features can help your cycling experience can be prioritized according to your preferences.

In conclusion, hopefully, the guide has helped you find the best wireless headphones for cycling. These products are meant to be enjoyed during cycling to promote a good workout. Finding the right product for you will allow for a better experience so it’s important to consider all factors because it’s no fun having issues with your headphones while you are cycling.
