You get to use all kinds of different gadgets that do different things and the parts seem well made (although some parts do seem more fragile, as a whole it is quite durable and items snap together well). There are neat parts that are not so straight forward too, like a resistor, so you can see how it affects the output of certain devices. There are some good explanations in the instructions so that you can understand what you are experimenting with which helps with re-usability. The one thing that does not seem to work though is the piece where you are supposed to be able to clap or blow on it to restart an output on a device. Although I wish it did what it said it could do in the manual, I am not taking a star away for that as this is a really good value and keeps children’s interest for extended periods of time. In the future, I look forward to buying more kits.

A very minor gripe that I have with the set: if you do intend to play with it, or want to swap the minifigs in the cockpit out…..that piece does not sit on a hinge, but is actually attached in such a way that makes it a pain to bother with. Mine is for display, so I don’t much care, but something to consider if you’re more active with your sets post-build.

The ones I found were cheap looking so I never bought one. When looking this year I found this safe and it came in different colors which was a plus. As with a previous review, there are a couple of issues that better documentation would eliminate the confusion but I’ll still give it 5 stars as it wasn’t too hard to deal with.
1. Don’t use voice mode. When you activate every button, the voice says “enter code” like it didn’t recognize what you hit until it gives you an error after the 4th button is pressed. The best solution for this is for it not to talk every time but at a minimum explain it in the instructions.
2. It’s confusing how to change your code. Took a few tries to figure out you had to press “and hold” the button when changing the code. Again, an easy change to the documentation will correct this.
General observation, If you forget the code, removing the batteries will reset it back to the factory default which for kids is nice. Didn’t have that with my plastic combination safe. The latching mechanism seems sturdy enough. The dollar bill loading mechanism works nice. The bank is a nice size and larger than the one I have from when I was a kid which makes it better. Most importantly, both boys loved it and they now have a nicer place to store their money.

They are very easy to charge, the charger cables are nice and long. Make sure you follow all instructions especially regarding the first charge. Charge OVERNIGHT before using it. It has something to do with maximizing the battery life. I did it and I didn’t want to take any chances. I haven’t timed them on how long they last, but let’s just say, my kids ride on and off for hours, and I’ve never seen one slow down or run out yet, I just plug all of them in for an overnight charge after they’ve been used for a significant amount of time. The fender on the front of one of them is starting to rattle a bit, but I bought the extended warranty, so it’s time to check into my options. The goals consist of light plastic tubing that folds out at each corner, which allows it to fold into a single length to fit in the bag. The sticks are a harder plastic and the balls are a very lightweight foam, which even when shot very hard, shouldn’t cause any damage to almost anything. It’s not super high quality, but it can handle a reasonable amount of abuse, as long as there isn’t too much weight falling on either the sticks or the goals. My only complaints are the hinges on the goal tend to unhook, as they are just plastic push buttons. Mine does it in one corner on one goal and causes that corner to fall back slightly. Not detrimental, but it would be nice to be a bit more rigid. The balls also don’t work particularly well on carpet, as they stick, but after a few minutes of play, you learn not to try to slide them, but instead to roll them.

The barrel is rifled, but I don’t think that really does much. The blue paint looks really good. The handle is a very natural method of charging the blaster. It can be used as an assault grip too. The drum holds 26 darts but is rated for 25. The grip has an emergency dart holder that holds one dart. I don’t use it. In terms of backward compatibility, the micro dart, tagger micro dart, and whistler dart all don’t load properly due to their protruding tip. The blaster may damage the tip of the darts over time. However, they still work. They have a terrible range with this blaster though. I would only use the elite darts. I can’t say how streamline darts do though. The drum has a jam handle in case darts get stuck in it. It can be used if you don’t load the darts properly. To load darts, simply press down the dart in the drum and slide another one in. Overall, this blaster is beautifully engineered, durable, and packed with features. It is probably great for Nerf wars. This gun is essential in any Nerf enthusiast’s arsenal.
