I mean, you really can never know when you will need to make a great deal of coffee all at once. And that’s where we come in. We have compiled a list of some of the best coffee percolator options on the market right now to help you find the perfect percolator for your brewing!

Whether you are looking for a modern or vintage percolator, we have models to suit all your tastes and needs!

So, what is a percolator coffee maker? Well, it’s basically a pot to brew your coffee in. It is a very basic but powerful coffee brewing technique that just happens to work just as well on a campfire as it would on a stove or plugged into the wall.

Percolators work in a very simple way. Basically, there is a vertical tube inside the percolator that helps the boiling water to move up to where the coffee grounds are and go through them.

The water then drips back to the bottom of the pot and the process starts all over again. Because the water keeps going through the coffee grounds over and over again, it extracts as much of the flavor and aroma as possible. Yes, percolators are as amazing as they sound!

Now that you know how they work and are ready to invest in one (or multiple), here are some of the best coffee percolators on the market.

1. Farberware Classic Stainless Steel Yosemite Percolator

You might have noticed how brewing on the stovetop results in fuller and more richly flavored coffee. The Farberware Yosemite Percolator is one of the best coffee percolators on the market! Simply start your brewing process and this percolator will be ready to produce four to twelve cups of your favorite blends.

The polished stainless steel exterior is not only heavy-duty but has a very stylish and sleek look that we are certain will fit just right with your kitchen.

The interior of this percolator is non-reactive to prevent the water from absorbing any undesirable tastes or odors, ensuring that you will have pure and delicious coffee.

The tightly fitted lid will seal in the heat so you can be sure that your beverage is kept hot for as long as possible. The handle is very comfortable so you can confidently carry the percolator around without worrying about losing your grip while pouring.

We love how it has a permanent percolator filter basket meaning you never have to deal with all the messy paper filters. To make things even better, this percolator is fully dishwasher safe so you never have to worry about the cleaning process. You can never go wrong with a Farberware coffee maker!

Specifications

  • Weight: 2.79 lbs
  • Dimensions: 8.86 x 7.28 x 10.83 inches
Pros
  • Easy to use
  • Can be put into the dishwasher
  • It can work on both a gas or electric stove
  • Very light weight
  • Made out of durable and heavy duty stainless steel
Cons
  • The glass knob is not as durable as we hoped
  • It can be time consuming

Sample Customer Review… My $20 Black & Decker 4 cup coffee maker has been flawless for years, but the carafes are a bit fragile and replacements cost almost as much as a full unit. After a bit of research, I settled on this percolator — the price was good, the construction seemed solid, and the reviews were complementary. After the first test brew, I’m pleased with the purchase.

The flavor is even better than what I got from my old coffee maker — done properly, the coffee tastes virtually identical to the good stuff from a diner. Setup and cleanup were a breeze. While the instructions recommend using pot holders to grab the handle, it wasn’t necessary in my case.

The handle stayed cool (though I recommend care, as the pot itself gets extremely hot and there’s not much distance between the handle and the kettle). If any coffee grounds got out of the filter and into the liquid, they were too few to notice. Recommended.

2. Presto Stainless Steel Coffee Percolator

This Presto Stainless Steel Percolator would be a very dainty and stylish addition to your kitchen. It can brew up to six cups of coffee without compromising taste or richness of flavor!

The stainless steel construction ensures the percolator remains durable yet still lightweight to make the pouring process safer and easier for you.

Specifications

  • Weight: 2.65 lbs
  • Dimensions: 7.5 x 4 x 10 inches
  • Material: Stainless steel
Pros
  • Very durable
  • Does not rust
  • It has a detachable cord which makes it even easier to clean
  • Comes with free paper filters
Cons
  • The coffee pot itself can get hot
  • It can be time-consuming if you are making a lot of coffee at once

Sample Customer Review… It was the cheapest percolator ever. The quality was so unlike the one I had. It sounds silly, but I have an emotional attachment to this old percolator because it’s been in the family for many years, but I absolutely refused to replace it with a cheaply made one. So after reading the reviews on this Presto 6 cup, I ordered it. Wow! It’s made from strong stainless steel and it just made the perfect cup.

The “cup” size is slightly less than in the Farberware percolator, so I had to decrease the coffee I put in it. I am impressed that the holes in the basket are even smaller than the Farberware basket so less chance of grounds going through. In addition, it is small, petite, and looks so cute sitting on my counter. I would not put a review on a product if it wasn’t honest and I can assure you this is a very good quality percolator!

3. Primula Today 9-Cup Coffee Percolator

The Primula Today percolator is made out of sturdy but extremely lightweight aluminum, making it a great camping percolator. Most coffee connoisseurs will tell you that using percolators on stovetops to brew your coffee will result in a fuller, richer, and overall superior taste!

The clear knob on the lid of this Primula percolator allows you to keep an eye on your beverage as it changes color and comes to a boil so you can decide how hot you want your drink to be. With its generous capacity, you can save a lot of time by making several cups of coffee all at once!

Specifications

  • Weight: 0.75 lbs
  • Dimensions: 8.15 x 5.2 x 8.23 inches
  • Capacity: 9 cups
Pros
  • Works great with any type of fire
  • Great for the price
  • Made of aluminum so it’s lightweight and safe to use on the stove
Cons
  • The water can take a while to boil
  • From what we tried, it holds less than 9 cups

Sample Customer Review… I can’t tell you how many aluminum percolators I have donated or recycled. They seem to be left behind in every house or apartment I have ever lived in—always missing parts, dented, and not worth cleaning. Apparently, they were well-loved. After getting an RV we needed a small teapot to boil water on the stove boondocking.

I had trouble finding one that wasn’t too big, too heavy, too expensive, or way too difficult to clean, and then I remembered the percolator! This one is perfect! So lightweight holds enough water for a few mugs of tea, is petite enough to conserve tiny RV cabinet space, and looks great! The handle stayed cool, and it’s big enough to get my hand in it for a good scrub or run through the dishwasher.

If you are looking for a not-gigantic, lightweight, good-looking “teapot” for your RV, give this one a try. It is so much cheaper than a typical teapot! I would recommend this one!

4. Coleman 12-Cup Stainless Steel Percolator

The Coleman 12-Cup Stainless Steel Percolator is stamped as one of the best coffee percolators for camping. If you enjoy being outside nearly as much as you enjoy drinking a nice, hot cup of freshly brewed coffee then this is the percolator for you.

The pot’s stainless steel exterior ensures that the percolator remains free of any corrosion and makes the cleaning process that much easier. It has a large capacity of up to twelve cups yet is still very lightweight which we absolutely love!

You can brew coffee for a dozen people all at once while the convenient side handle allows you to smoothly and comfortably pour out the coffee for you all to enjoy!

Specifications

  • Weight: 2.2 lbs
  • Product Dimensions : 6.42 x 8.58 x 9.49 inches
  • Capacity: 12 cups
  • Material: Stainless steel
Pros
  • One of the best percolators for camping
  • Has a 12 cup capacity
  • Extremely lightweight
  • Resistant to corrosion
Cons
  • The glass knob can break easily so you need to be careful with how you handle it

Sample Customer Review… Excellent! Durable, easy to clean worth every penny. Works great on my gas stove. It makes a lot of coffee. As others have mentioned, a paper filter will keep most grounds from getting in the coffee. I wet my filter and press it to the sides of the basket and it stays in place. Easy to clean.

Handle cools much more quickly than the pot. Very heavy when full. I need two pot holders, one for the handle and one for the bottom, so I don’t spill it. I find that a ten-minute perk makes a good pot of coffee. And here is a free tip if you like iced coffee. With the leftover coffee, pour it into ice cube trays and freeze it. Coffee ice cubes keep the iced coffee from being watered down. Enjoy!

5. Medelco 8-Cup Stove-Top Glass Percolator

How cute is this Medelco Glass Percolator? Not only can you now make amazing, flavorful coffee but you can watch as it becomes saturated with richness and color.

This percolator is made from lab-quality borosilicate glass so you can be sure of its durability. It can hold up to eight cups of freshly brewed coffee without taking up too much space on your counter.

It is very lightweight and the conveniently placed handle ensures you can comfortably pour out your coffee.

Specifications

  • Item weight: 1.5 lbs
  • Product Dimensions: 7.5 x 5.5 x 7.4 inches
  • Capacity: 8 cups
  • Material: Glass
Pros
  • Great for the price
  • Dishwasher safe
  • The handle stays cool even when it’s on the stove
Cons
  • The filter-basket is made out of plastic

Sample Customer Review… Makes a great pot of coffee, and fast too. Easy to use, easy to clean. The lid, handle and even the plastic dome on the lid remain cool enough so I can remove the basket (which does get hot) when the coffee is done. Easy to pour and doesn’t drip or spill all over when pouring.

6. Hamilton Beach 12-Cup Electric Percolator

If you want the rich, bold, and flavorful taste of percolator-made coffee but are put off by the usual long-time brewing then this is the percolator for you. The Hamilton Beach Percolator will brew your coffee to perfection in no time.

The sleek and stylish stainless steel exterior is not only attractive to look at but makes the cleaning process a breeze. It also has a detachable cord which, again, makes the cleaning process that much easier.

The way that the spout is shaped ensures accurate, no-drip pouring of the hot liquid. The light on the side of the percolator lets you know when your coffee is done brewing and warm-mode will begin to preserve the heat for your beverage.

Specifications

  • Item weight: 1lb
  • Product Dimensions: 5.28 x 9.46 x 12.58 inches
  • Capacity: 12 cups
  • Material: Stainless steel
Pros
  • It has a detachable cord which makes cleaning so much easier
  • It’s made out of heavy-duty stainless steel so you can be sure of its durability
Cons
  • The power cord is a little short which may be a little inconvenient

Sample Customer Review… I’ve found over the years it doesn’t matter where a product is made, it’s how well the company wants their product to last and perform over time. Hamilton Beach apparently has pride in its name because this heavy, well-constructed pot has performed flawlessly over the past two weeks. I use bottled water kept in the refrigerator and paper filters in the basket.

Cold water, as one reviewer has said fools the thermostat, and the pot will perk a little longer and make a hotter, richer cup of coffee. Paper filters because it’s hard to find coarse ground coffee on the market today unless you grind it yourself. I like the three-prong electric plug that it comes with although it could have been a little longer, it’s not a deal breaker. After putting this pot through the paces over the past two weeks I feel confident to give it a thumbs up review.

7. Eurolux Coffee Maker Pot

No products found.

This 9-cup capacity Eurolux Coffee Percolator lets you share your delicious, creamy, and flavorful coffee with all your friends — or, if you’re anything like us, you might probably finish the pot all on your own!

It can brew about one cup per minute which is not as quick as some of the other percolators on this list but is definitely still a pretty decent wait time.

It includes free filters which, I mean, who wouldn’t want free percolator filters?! It also features an instructions manual so, if you’re a newbie, you will definitely appreciate this!

Specifications

  • Weight: 2.05 lbs
  • Dimensions: 7.4 x 7.3 x 5.5 inches
  • Capacity: 9 cups
Pros
  • Made out of heavy duty stainless steel
  • The handle is made out of wood
  • It’s safe to put in the dishwasher
Cons
  • The glass knob is not as durable so you need to be careful when handling it

Sample Customer Review… I was looking for something different and had no idea that they were making these stovetop percolators. It’s so easy to use, clean up is easy and the coffee tastes so much better than using an automatic drop machine from a box store. Plus, my kitchen counter stays clutter-free. Absolutely love having a cup of joe this way.

8. Mixpresso Electric Coffee Percolator

The Mixpresso Electric Coffee Percolator is not only stunning but it can make a cup of beautifully brewed coffee in as quickly as a minute!

It can hold up to ten cups of coffee at once so you can elegantly serve your guests without having to worry about having trouble pouring it out thanks to the comfortable placed and secured handle.

It will also automatically keep your drinks hot so you can enjoy your coffee at any time of day!

Specifications

  • Item weight: 3.3 lbs
  • Product Dimensions: 11.22 x 9.84 x 7.28 inches
  • Capacity: 10 cups
  • Material: Stainless steel
  • Fuel type: electric
Pros
  • The coffee can stay hot for hours when it’s in the pot
  • It has a non-stick interior which is great for cleaning
  • Very durable
Cons
  • The spout is a little hard to clean
  • The body of the percolator heats up
  • The base and handle are made out of plastic

Sample Customer Review… I purchased this coffee maker because it had as few plastic parts as possible and requires no paper filter. With the right grind, moderately coarse, it makes a fantastic cup of coffee. I find that filling it with the maximum amount of water makes a very weak coffee (at least for me), so I usually fill half full with 6 cups of water, while using the maximum amount of coffee, and it tastes great! The parts are easy to clean, and dishwasher safe except for the decanter, which requires careful handwashing inside and out.

I do get some burnt grounds on the steel heating element, but they wipe away easily. I would purchase this again, and recommend it. The best tasting coffee I’ve made at home.

9. Hamilton Beach Coffee Percolator 40614

Wow. This coffee maker has A LOT of great features. It has a locking lid so it will never become dislodged with pressure from vapor or a full pot of coffee being poured a little fast. This is a lifesaver because let us tell you, you do not want hot coffee dumped on you.

This percolator also has a viewing-window so you can check coffee/water level without opening the pot.

This percolator also has the normal features it should. The handle on it stays cool the whole time it is brewing and the spout does not drip. The cord is removable and the pot has an indicator light that will tell you when it is ready. There is also a stay-warm function.

Specifications

  • Weight: 0.75 lbs
  • Material: Aluminum
  • Capacity: 9 cups
Pros
  • Viewing-window on carafe
  • Locking lid
  • Well-priced
  • 12 cups in 12-minutes
Cons
  • Needs an on/off switch

Sample Customer Review… Love this percolator! Not only does the water/coffee never touch plastic, but the coffee is perfect! Have had it for a week now, and every morning I comment on the “Best Coffee Ever”! Another plus is that it makes the coffee much faster than my old drip coffee maker! It’s nice looking and doesn’t take up much space at all! I bought the filters that were suggested — but have not used them yet — have not had any grounds in the coffee.

10. Stansport 9-cup Aluminum Coffee Percolator Pot

This percolator is modeled very classically. This can be a good and not-so-good thing. Like any other product that has stayed the same throughout the years, however, we can conclude that they are doing something right.

But at the same time, many other percolators have added new and advanced features, so why haven’t any of those been added here?

This coffee percolator was made with the purpose of camping in mind. That’s not to say it cannot be used domestically, just that it was designed to be used for camping.

And then there’s the pricing. There’s no way you can be disappointed in this percolator for its size. It brews many different amounts while still producing fine-tasting coffee.

Overall, this is a great percolator for camping!

Specifications

  • Material: Aluminum
  • Capacity: 9 cups
Pros
  • Comes in a 20-cup size as well
  • Inexpensive
  • Reliable design
  • Great for camping
Cons
  • Dents easily
  • Handles get really hot

Sample Customer Review… I had never used a percolator before, but I love coffee and wanted something to take along on camping trips. I researched this pot and compared it with others of similar size and decided to get it. It makes excellent coffee, and the price is impossible to beat.

Some other reviews have mentioned leaking or bad fit of the lid, but I’ve not noticed any problems. In fact, I love this thing so much, that once I tried it, I’m addicted. My coffee tastes so much better that I’ve boxed up my coffee maker and set this on the stove for everyday use. Now I know why my grandmother would never use anything else.

12. Coletti “Bozeman” Percolator Coffee Pot

This simplistic percolator is the perfect answer to all of your coffee needs. The rich flavor combined with the ideal temperature makes for the best cup of coffee. Also, you do not have to give up this coffee when traveling! Because of the durable design and lack of electricity, this percolator is the best traveling companion. There could not be an easier way to enjoy a cup of coffee!

Specifications

  • Weight: 2 lbs
  • Material: Stainless Steel
  • Capacity: 9 cups
Pros
  • Does not need electricity
  • Handle does not heat with the rest of the percolator
  • Great for travel
  • Very durable
Cons
  • Does not have a large capacity
  • Might not be suitable for glass stovetops

Sample Customer Review… I compared many percolators but could not find the exact one I was looking for until I took a chance on this one. I needed a percolator that could be put on the grate over the fire and also in the fire. I wanted the ability to cook right on the coals. This one did beautifully on the coals and I am sure would have done just as good sitting on a stovetop or on a grate over the fire.

I needed a percolator that had a glass knob like this one does and not a plastic knob because I didn’t want to melt it in the fire. The percolator parts inside fit perfectly. I used a brew bag to hold the grinds so I had perfect coffee with no grinds. Overall, I am happy with this percolator and may start making my regular morning coffee with it.

Buying Guide: Things to Consider When Purchasing a Coffee Percolator

A coffee percolator can be considered one of the most simple ways to make coffee but buying the right one for your needs can prove to be more of a challenge. When figuring out which model would best fit your needs, there are important factors that should be examined.

Capacity

When determining which percolator is best, the capacity of the model is one of the main features to look at. For one person who does not consume a large amount of coffee, a smaller cup capacity, such as 4 cups, would be sufficient for their needs. However, for a family with avid coffee consumption, this model would be way too small, so they would need to purchase the 12 to 14 cup model. While 4 cups to 14 cups is generally the capacity range for coffee percolators, higher capacity models can be found.

Pricing

Coffee percolators are usually on the more inexpensive side, but these prices do fluctuate depending on the capacity, heat source, quality, and other features. When purchasing a coffee percolator, take in mind the reviews when looking at the price to make sure that the model purchased will be of the best quality.

Heat Source

A question essential to considering which model to purchase is where will you be using your coffee percolator? If you are using it for camping or outdoor activities where a fire or grill will be at hand, then a campfire percolator can be used that requires no electric parts. However, this model must have an outside heat source. In opposition, the electric percolator can function without any heat source, but this model will only work on a surface with a power outlet. Therefore, where the percolator is used is an important factor to take into account before deciding which model to buy.

Convenience

How much time do you have to brew your coffee? If you are always on the go and do not have time to measure out the perfect amount of powder and exact brewing time, then the automatic model might be the best option. This automatic percolator simply has to be plugged in and will make the coffee on its own without much effort from the user. However, for a more rich coffee experience, the manual percolator is the better option because of the steps that are taken in order to get the coffee. These steps take effort and time, so the manual model may not be the best for people with packed schedules.

Conclusion

We know how trying to equip your kitchen with appliances can be an overwhelming process. That is exactly why we have compiled this list of the best coffee percolators. Hopefully, we have made that process at least a little bit easier for you.

All coffee lovers know there is no such thing as too much coffee so, there too is no such thing as having too many percolators. Did more than one stand out to you from this list? Buy them then! Having a spare will most likely come in handy at one point or another.

No one can judge you for loving coffee as much as we do!
