1. Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT Wireless Headphones

Looking for wireless headphones with a crisp and unique sound? Then the Audio Technica ATH-M50xBT wireless headphones are the perfect fit. Made mostly of plastic, you may assume that these headphones are not sturdy, but their bulky design makes them more sturdy that helps increase durability and comfort. They may be bulkier than other models, but they are still able to fold away for compact storage or travel.

What makes these headphones stand out among other wireless over-ear headphones is their crisp sound quality. With a closed-back design, hearty base, and Bluetooth compatibility that enhances both iOS and Android sound quality, these headphones are perfect for the music studio, streaming, editing, or other professional listening activities.

Pros
  • Foldable for convenience
  • Strong sound quality
  • Durable
  • Controls in ear-cup
Cons
  • Slow charging
  • Short battery life
  • No noise cancellation

Sample customer review… I bought these primarily for casual music enjoyment. Overall, they’re fantastic headphones that can’t be beaten at this price point.

Fit- Initially, these headphones weren’t very comfortable. I have a large head and these clamped down too tightly. After wearing them for a week, however, the headphones really broke in. Now I can wear them for 4-6 hours and barely notice they’re on. The earpads are nice and comfortable and create a good seal around my ears. They’re not noise-canceling, but they still manage to block out most ambient noise.

Sound- these sound absolutely amazing. The bass is clear and punchy. The highs are sharp and piercing, but not too shrill. The mids come in clear and vibrant. Every detail of my music is represented wonderfully. While these are technically monitors and have a relatively flat profile, they aren’t cold or dull. You’d have to pay almost double the price to match the sound here.

Bluetooth- The Bluetooth connection is pretty great. The only time I’ve had issues is when I’m walking outside with my phone in my right pocket. The Bluetooth radio is in the left ear cup, and the connection tends to drop when my phone is on my right side. This is a pretty common issue with Bluetooth, however. As long as my phone is in my left pocket, the signal never drops. I can also walk anywhere in my house with my phone on the kitchen counter and never lose signal. Even more surprisingly, the Bluetooth doesn’t take anything away from the sound. These sound every bit as good as a wired set of headphones at this price range.

I’m very satisfied with my purchase. I would recommend these to anyone.

2. Beats Solo3 Wireless Headphones

The Beats Solo 3 wireless headphones are an upgraded version of the popular Beats Solo 2. With longer battery life, better sound quality, and greater durability, this is the best headphone option all around. Once fully charged, the battery will last you through over 40 hours of listening. With the comfortably cushioned earpads, these self-adjusting headphones will be comfortable to wear throughout long listening sessions.

While these headphones are not noise cancelling, they make up for this with the powerful base and the overall exceptional sound quality. If you need to adjust the sound settings, there are easy to use controls on the right side of the device. Connecting to bluetooth is easier than you would expect with this pair of wireless headphones, so that should be one less worry when listening.

For an all-around great pair of headphones with several helpful features, amazing sound quality, and adjustability to your preferences, this purchase is a steal for under $200. A true bargain for the quality you are receiving.

Pros
  • Strong sound quality
  • Adjustable sound
  • Long lasting battery
Cons
  • Not noise cancelling

Sample customer review… I’ve always bought cheap 15$ headphones thinking I’m saving money. WRONG. I was buying them often…wasting money. I love my new beats. I use them just about every day for working out and when cleaning the house. Great battery life before having to charge again. Nice sound and noise canceling.

So far worth the price. Mine came like new but were used, so I got a good deal and they literally looked like new with all original stickers and packaging. Amazon is my go-to place for just about everything. Also, I bought some washable earphone covers for them, that way my sweat doesn’t wear out the earpieces as fast.

3. Marshall Major III

Marshall has a reputation for sound in the market, they launched these headphones as on-ear noise-cancellation headphones. Let’s see what are the feature of these headphones: The built quality is sturdy and has a compact size, there is a universal button for volume control, and changing tracks. These headphones have metal hinges that make the built strong, they are provided with a bulky carry case.

The on-ear headphones are comforting with the cushion provided, these headphones are recommended for long wear, as your ear-cups start heating up, and it is painful. The noise isolation is great but the Marshall Major III ANC is better than these headphones.

Pros
  • High productivity
  • Strong built and lightweight
  • Audio sound quality is great
Cons
  • Noise-isolation is Mediocre

Sample customer review… love these headphones! Pulled them out of the box and the Bluetooth worked for three hours without charging them the first time (I finally turned them off after three hours because I couldn’t rock anymore). The headphones fit very snug against the head/ears. I usually like to wear my headphones a bit lower on my head, but for these to be comfortable, you may need to adjust them higher up than you would expect to evenly distribute how the padding hugs your ears.

After I did that, no problems with comfort. Even though these are not noise-canceling, they do block out sound very well. It’s not easy to hear someone talking to you even when music does not play. I have a pair of thick-frame glasses I wear when I’m not wearing my contacts; I did eventually take my glasses off because the headphones are so snug I felt like they were pushing my glasses too hard against my head.

It may not be bad if you have thin glasses, but thick frames were uncomfortable. Other than that, they’re great for listening to Montrose! One cool feature that isn’t entirely played upon these is that someone else can plug their headphones into these so you can “share” your music; no more giving someone the left earbud while you listen to the right earbud! Good stuff.

4. Skullcandy Crusher Wireless Headphones

If you are looking for an affordable and durable pair of headphones for long-lasting listening, the Skullcandy Crusher Wireless Headphones are the pick for you. These headphones are made of mostly plastic, with pleather covering the earpads, preventing ear pain after long hours of listening. With four color choices and a chic design, you won’t have to sacrifice style for sound quality.

These headphones are also durable, so feel free to take them with you wherever you go, without fearing they will break. They fold up to provide compact storage, so say goodbye to bulky over the ear headphones. These wireless headphones also have a long lasting battery life, with listening time lasting up to 35 hours, you never have to worry about them dying while you are out.

The Skullcandy Crusher Wireless Headphones are compatible with an app that allows you to customize the sound quality as well as check the battery life remaining. Overall, these headphones are affordable, stylish, convenient, and provide exceptional bass and general sound quality. Do not overlook these powerhouse headphones.

Pros
  • Durable
  • Foldable for travel
  • Long lasting battery
Cons
  • Not noise cancelling
  • Not water resistant
  • Rubber headband can get caught on hair

Sample customer review… Swapped my Koss for the Skullcandy Crusher headset. No comparison. Skullcandy Crusher is even better than my Bose external speakers I have hooked up to my Mac. This headset picks up subtle sounds and still delivers great bass, which is adjustable. The adjustment feature and folding capabilities are awesome.

I can store the headset and connectors in my Headcase Audio hard case I got from RonsElectronics.com. Everything, and I do mean everything, fits in the case. I travel all across the USA. You don’t always have access to charge your devices. I charged fully before leaving home. I still haven’t recharged after five weeks of periodic use which is several hours at a time.

They are full over the ear. That helps reduce the noise when in a noisy environment. I have not tried using them during a phone call, however, I am confident in their performance based on everything else they have done. Big bang for your buck if you want a high-end sound for a reasonable price.

5. Sony WH-CH700N

When it comes to noise cancellation, Sony 1000XM3 leads the way, but if you are not willing to Spend 350$, Sony WH-CH700N is what you need, let’s take a look at the feature these headphones have to offer: These headphones fit perfectly over the ears which means their noise cancelation capability is executed perfectly, they are made out of plastic which makes you feel light, and the padding comfort doesn’t put pressure over your ear.

Due to lightweight, it is a great choice for traveling and the noise cancellation is great it minimizes the surrounding sound but not compared to what the XM3 has to offer. Sony is well known for its sound quality and these headphones live up to the standard, they opt to support apX HD sound quality.

These headphones have control buttons for all your playback option, so you don’t have to remember the double-tap feature, it is minimalistic. With the help of the Sony app, you can configure google assistance by pressing the power button. The experience of having google assistance or Alexa read your test is amazing, and the response time of the assistance is quite impressive.

They are also equipped with a micro USB for charging.  They have an amazingly long battery life but cannot charge quickly due to the micro USB port. It comes with an app that is great for customizing your settings for the perfect listening experience.

Pros
  • Can be used for all purposes
  • Battery life is amazing
  • Controls are easy to handle
Cons
  • Slow charging
  • Design is too simple

Sample customer review… let’s put it this way, I had a $350 pair of Bose that I returned because the padding over the ears crumbled apart on two sets! I talked at length about these with a sales representative at Best Buy so I knew what I was getting. After 2 years, there was a glitch in the Bluetooth but I could use them plugged in. Those were $200!! Got them here at $149 & they are just fantastic. They stay charged all day so I recharge when I go to bed. Highly recommend!

6. Razor Opus Wireless

The Razer opus are the first non-gaming headphones in the market manufactured by Razer, Let’s check out some feature to know why there made it on our list: The Razer opus is an ANC category headphone which is great for over-ear listening, their ANC is the best that you can get in this price range. It provides an excellent performance given its price tag, competing with the likes of Sony, Bose.  Their ANC is great at blocking the surrounding noise and they even lower the background noise while flying on an airplane.

There are also Razer products that are built with specific genres like gaming, music, and heavy bass. This is there first in the ANC category. These opted with high-tech drivers that can handle sound input  AAC, aptX. These headphones are meant for the ones who want to daily commute without hearing any surrounding sound.

It’s like walking in your house with no noise. These can be used during light workouts at home. When tested for sound quality, they proved to have a good sound balance. Lastly, their battery life lasts about 30- 35 hours when fully charged.

Pros
  • The ANC is excellent
  • Comfortable built
  • Buttons are easy to use
Cons
  • Can’t be connected to multiple devices
  • Low microphone performance

Sample customer review… When I saw these I wanted to get them right away because they seemed to be the best deal that you can get if you wanted ANC, at least that’s what I was after. After I bought them I charged them immediately which is sort of a flaw. Let me explain. It takes longer than desired to charge these things. The best time to charge them is overnight, but the tradeoff between charge time and play-time is well worth the wait.

I can spend most of my day heavily using this thing with ANC activated and it will last. Even after I am done using it I forget to charge it and when I use it the next day it still has like 50% battery life. Now onto the sound quality. The sound quality has some nice highs, but it leaves some desires for the lows. It still delivers the lows pretty well, but it’s not as rich as some others I’ve tested (ex. Skullcandy Crusher Wireless).

Next is the main target for this device, ANC. The active noise canceling to someone who hasn’t really experienced it in depth before was amazing. I also heard from other people that it has a faint hiss when ANC is enabled, but it is really faint that your brain tunes it out after about 15 seconds. ANC delivers really well. For example, I played some music at around 50% volume and ANC on and I had my friend basically shout at me and I was only able to barely hear him.

Last but not least comfort, another huge role in wearing over-ear headphones. Based on other razer products they have, I had some worries about the comfort, but when I got them, they were actually really good. It doesn’t clamp on your head, at least not hard so it has a nice feeling, and my ears which are pretty much medium fit in the headphones and didn’t touch the drivers as most people i heard from reviews have experienced. Overall, for the price, the razer opus is honestly really great for the price and I would recommend buying it.

7. V-MODA Crossfade Wireless Over-Ear Headphone

The V-MODA Crossfade Wireless headphones are made for those who wish to have headphones that do not completely block outside noises, but still provide uninterrupted listening for those who wish to ignore their surroundings. With this isolated noise and a built- in microphone specialized for calls, this is the perfect headset for streamers and gamers alike.

These wireless headphones have a decently long-lasting battery, providing over ten hours of listening time after 100 minutes of charge time. They are also incredibly durable, made partially of steel for stability. With ear pads made of memory foam cushions and vegan leather, these headphones are designed for comfort and long-lasting listening.

Pros
  • Durability and comfort
  • Fast charging
  • Strong bluetooth connectivity
Cons
  • Sound quality could be better
  • Shorter battery life than competitors

Sample customer review… Stylish, supremely comfortable, and excellent sounding! I have never touted myself as being an “audiophile” but I do love music, and the better it sounds, the more I want to listen to it. I had never owned a pair of headphones worth over $100 but I’m glad I made the decision to buy these. I have a wide range of tastes in music, but about 50% of my collection consists of rock and blues.

The bass on these things is slightly above average, but that’s how I’ve always liked my bass. The mids are not drowned by the bass at all, while the highs are crisp enough to let you hear every nuance and scratch produced by those lovely guitar strings. The Bluetooth quality is superb but the wire makes them sound even better (eliminates the slight hiss produced by Bluetooth connection).

Slap on a pair of XL earpads on these bad boys (which should be large enough for most ears) and you are set! I’ve fallen asleep many nights with these headphones on, only to wake up hours later to discover my ears do not hurt from wearing them.

Add to this the warranty and you can’t beat these V-Moda’s. If I ever need (or want) another pair of high-end headphones I will be buying them from this company again (as long as they don’t lower the quality). Cheers and happy listening!

8. Sennheiser HD 450 BT

The Sennheiser is famous for its product quality. So it is no question that the Sennheiser 450 BT produces excellent sound quality. Let’s take a look at what these headphones have to offer just under the price of 200$: It has a proprietary driver which is essential in delivering the signature Sennheiser sound,  Its stable sound is music to your ears. The design is sleek and the sides have a semi-matte finish which makes them look cool and trendy and they are sleek looking. The right ear-cup has a button for power/pairing, volume, and button for voice assistance.

These headphones are provided with a 3.5 mm audio jack and a USB-C charging port. The Sennheiser app gives you control over the EQ but it not that effective, given the price you couldn’t have asked for more. It has a NoiseGard Active noise cancellation feature, which eliminates the surrounding noise going on outside of your listening experience.

These headphones offer outstanding comfort and the ear pads are made of soft leather which helps provide quality comfort during long hours of usage.  Volume can also be adjusted from the controls present on the ear cup.

Pros
  • Sleek style
  • Sound quality is excellent
  • Battery life is great
Cons
  • Need to upgrade the Sennheiser App

Sample customer review… I bought two pairs of these for both myself and my mom and we are both really happy with them. For me they were exactly what I was looking for, the noise-canceling is decent especially for the price point (Of course it cannot compare to more expensive options like Sony’s premium headphones, but they cost me a third).

The sound quality is very good, and I can take them anywhere on my entire apartment without moving the audio source and still get coverage. My only complaint was that for some reason when the battery dipped below 50% I would get constant annoying reminders on how much playtime I had left, luckily with was fixed with a recent firmware update.

For my mom, she has never been happier with a product, this was the first time she had ever owned headphones in her life and she literally never takes them off anymore. We are both very happy with the purchase.

9. Sennheiser PXC 550 C

Sennheiser PXC 550 C are competing with Bose QuietComfort 35 II, the Sennheiser’s are leveling up in the market launching ANC headphones with a price range lower than 200$, let’s see what feature these have to offer: The design is different than any Sennheiser, these are light in weight, they can be folded and carried in the carry cover case.

They have a slight puffier ear cushion, for people having small heads this might be great, but for people with large heads after long hours of usage, it might pain. The performance is great, it has great noise cancellation, and we can use the CapTune app provided by Sennheiser to adjust the EQ settings.

The volume levels are auto-tuned, for services like Spotify, etc. to use the app we need to have songs downloaded on the phone or use the Tidal app. The user has 2 options to choose from the ANC settings:  one, which is set by the user from the app. Two, intense setting.  For this price the sound quality is great. With the help of bass sound quality, we can note a few details of the song we never picked up but with the help of these pairs, we can do it. The battery lasts about 30 hours

Pros
  • Excellent sound quality and noise cancelation
  • Portable design
  • Good microphone quality
  • Comfortable around the ears
Cons
  • No rapid charging

Sample customer review… Let me start off by saying sure you could arguably get better noise isolation (close) with Sony or Bose but none of those come close to the sound quality of these Sennheiser PXC 550 ii. Sure you sacrifice some bells & whistles & perhaps some convenience with the micro USB port. You know what? I don’t care!

The sound is very neutral & I’d say honest in its presentation of whatever you’re listening to. You do have some options to change base, DLC, reverb, & spatial (Soundstage basically). For me that’s fine. If your primary concern is comfort or sound quality over bells & whistles then get these.

For me, they’re like a tailored glove (small ears). Instrument separation, the bass is tight & well-controlled (not muddy & doesn’t bleed into the highs or mids) mids are great vocalists especially female ones come through very clearly. I could rant on for ages but if you care about audio then these are it.

10. Plantronics Black Beat Pro 2

Plantronics has been in the pole position in the market for a few years now. Let’s check out the features they have to offer: They made some changes to Plantronics black beat pro, the predecessor to the Pro 2, like change in weight and bulkiness, They have a dark brown color palette, the sides of the ear cup are shiny.

They are very comfortable to wear and they last up to 33 hours on a single charge. Plus, the media control Plantronics beat pro 2 has is very dependable. They won’t hurt your ears if worn for long periods like most over-the-ear headphones. The left ear-cup has a volume control button, play/pause, and an ANC toggle, while the right-cup has buttons for pairing/power and a button for answering calls. These headphones can still work in wired mode if ran out of battery.

The beat pro 2 is made with a soft cushion which delivers excellent comfort. Plantronics have maintained good sound quality over the years. Their bass quality is alright and is suitable for genres like EDM, working out music, and gaming.  They have the bass-heavy signature, Also a little extra bass helps in eliminating the environment sound. Sometimes the bass is overwhelming for the music. They use the old version of USB ports though, and not the latest C port for charging.

Pros
  • Comfortable to wear
  • Battery life – 33 hours
  • Sound quality – excellent
  • Easy media controls
Cons
  • USB charging(micro USB charging cable)
  • No rapid charging

Sample customer review… This is one of the best pair of wireless over-the-ear headphones on the market, I’ve used the Bose QC35’s and while they do have better noise cancellation, these sound the same, and they’re half the cost.

Battery life is great, I flew round trip across the US on one charge and they still show half full. If you’re looking for a solid pair of wireless headphones that have ANC (Active noise cancellation), before you spring for the Bose QC35’s, give these a try. You’ll be surprised!

A note on comfort, most over-the-ear headphones get uncomfortable after wearing them for 3-4 hours. I have small ear canals but large ears, so earbuds don’t really work well, and most over-the-ear headphones tend to pinch my ears which can be painful. I traded up from a pair of Parrot Zik headphones, which have a more intuitive user interface for volume adjustment track changes.

It was nice to have that touch interface on the side of the Zik’s, however, these are lighter, and therefore much more comfortable to wear for extended periods. The Parrot Zik’s also struggled to provide more than 5-6 hours of battery life wirelessly, which makes them a poor choice for cross-country flights given the fact that they would normally die just before final descent.
