Sample Customer Review… I must preface this review by the fact that I am 80 – but in good health. The Covid issue caused me to look for another way to maintain some muscle mass and bone density besides going to my normal group classes at MVP gym. I have recently returned to bike riding and kayak pedaling (Hobie Mirage), for my aerobic training and the Bowflex does all my resistance training. Yes, I agree that if I was 30-50 again, I might outlive the resistance strength of this machine, but look folks, if you are not bodybuilding to the point of having more strength than you need – this is great. My 84-year-old wife works out on this too, as it is very easy to change “weights” and we both like the fact that it is silent! About the weights – it doesn’t have any . . . and even though the whole unit is sturdy and solid, I can easily fold, slide onto a hand dolly and move anywhere in the house! Not so easy when you have a lot of weight involved. I have just finished radiation treatment for prostate cancer but will continue with hormone therapy for another year or so. So I need to maintain muscle mass during this treatment, and this is the right machine, at the very right price (also easy to assemble). Thanks, Bowflex for keeping this unit in your lineup.

- Dimension Unfolded; Width 19’ x Length 90’ x Height 43’

Sample Customer Review… This is a fantastic, relatively inexpensive, total fitness workout. I canceled my gym membership permanently which I held for approximately 40 years. In 20 to 30 minutes I can get the same workout for my arms, chest, back, and legs that I was getting from the gym in 60 to 70 minutes(I’m not even including driving time going to and from the gym). My wife blamed my periodic colds on germ contacts in the gym. It takes a while to get used to the smooth transition of one position to the next, but now I move smoothly from one exercise to the next. It conveniently folds up like an ironing board and only has about a 6-inch depth from the wall when it is put away until the next workout. It assembles in approximately 20 seconds once you get the hang of it. It uses the principles of Pilates to isolate muscles and help you maintain great tone. I love this total gym. I applaud Chuck Norris for endorsing it. There are plenty of YouTube demonstrations of all the versatile exercises available with “The Total Gym”. It also comes with a clear illustration of more than 50 different exercises included in the package. I had back surgery last year and avoided back exercises in the gym but I am amazed at how so many of the exercises I do for the shoulders and arms with “The Total Gym” increase the strength in my back. Because of that, I’m feeling so much more powerful than when I went to the gym. I believe I paid approximately $1500 for the gym but that’s some of the best money I ever spent!

Sample customer review… This is a great system – especially in that it provides an aerobic rowing option – yup…rowing! This thing is actually fun to use. Has a holder (two red things on the main vertical beam) that adjusts to hold whatever device you put in there…for your phone/tablet to watch video while you row or listen to music etc while working out. This is a very high-quality made device. Easy to assemble (states two persons required – I did it alone in about 2 hours going at a casual pace, however, I would recommend asking for help moving the box as it weighs 144lbs…did that alone too…but was definitely a challenge getting it to our basement). Took up less space than I thought, meaning I thought I would have to leave a lot of space to the sides to account for the power rods to bend outward…but they stay close to the machine somehow so I was able to put it a lot closer to a wall than expected on one side. Also – the long front part folds up to get it out of the way if needed. Using this system has been easy and the booklet includes many different workout routines. Assembly tip – do not use the included weird “wrenches”, if they could be called that, go find a separate wrench and separate socket wrench with a right-sized socket to use on the nuts and bolts.

Sample Customer Review… This order came very late but it was not the seller’s fault, rather the shippers. The company once told of the problem shipped another one to me. They were very apologetic, friendly, and helpful. I would definitely do business with them again. The product is as described and I had my first full-body workout with it yesterday and it was surprisingly effective. Great product, great service. Using this equipment with my personal trainer at home was great. My son and I had a lot of fun testing out the many ways we could use it (even with other bands I had) and it was a truly complete workout. Since that first day with my trainer (I’m 54 with a lot of medical issues so I always have to check with him first) I have used it every day safely by myself and hopefully, in three months, I’ll post some new pics to show my improvement. My only concerns are: 1) the board doesn’t lock flat so you have to plant your feet properly or it starts to bend upward (no biggie as it hasn’t broken or anything and I’m over 200lbs) and 2) I had to use some extra padding on the bar as I am super sensitive and the bar hurt my neck.

Yeah sometimes the packaging takes a beating but the dumbells still make it through in good condition. These are perfect for curls, laterals, heavy bench, and incline presses as well as one-arm rows and shoulder press. most likely out of the same or similar factory as ones from Rogue or other more expensive sellers. Just without the big brand name. The higher weights do get a little bulky but I’m still planning on getting those 100s.

Sample Customer Review… This machine is exactly what it claims to be. It seems quite well made for the money and comes with a decent array of options. For anyone wishing to get in decent shape or maintain decent shape, this machine and some effort on your part will do it. I have a Smith machine and tons of free weight and that’s great but after a shoulder injury, I needed something a bit more therapeutic and holistic. At 55 years old this thing is great. If I continue to use this G5 I may decide to upgrade to the full monty someday but honestly, I don’t know if that is necessary. But who wouldn’t want to use the same machine Chuck Norris does? For its $400 price tag, this machine came in two days pre-assembled and ready to use. I can honestly say that it’s more machine than 95% of the people living today will ever need. If your goal is to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger then I would go with a Smith machine and free weight. If Bruce Lee, Jamie Lee Curtis in her ultra sexy aerobic days, or an athletic swimmer is more your body goal then this machine will do just fine. As long as you commit to using it

Buying Guide: Things to Consider When Purchasing A Compact Home Gym
Utility
Many home gyms can perform up to 60 different exercises, some even less than that. The more expensive the machine, the more utility it will have. But, the more utility available to you will impact your ability to keep your muscles guessing on what the next challenge will be.
Weight Resistance
Resistance is what you will be pulling or pushing against. With many different variations of resistance, each has its unique benefits and drawbacks. The workouts may also feel different.
Home gyms allow you to lift heavy without breaking the bank on individual weight plates, a rack, and a free-weight bench. The maximum weight resistance on these home gyms will be challenging enough for most, but if you plan on lifting real heavy, check the max weight plate and cable resistance settings when shopping for your home gym.
Size and Space
Your home workout space will most likely be in your garage, a bonus room in your home, or the corner of your apartment. The size of the home gym machine that you pick should match up with the space available in your home. Your options could range from foldable setups that can be used almost anywhere to complex hundred-pound, commercial-style rigs.
Goals
Generally, strength training is intended to build muscle, but different people have different goals. For example, seniors that are looking to improve their physical health won’t need excessive tools and 300lb maximum weight resistance. On the other hand, a bodybuilder may want to look for something more advance. You should go with the home gym style that best accommodates your specific fitness goals.
Budget
Home gym equipment can be really expensive, so be realistic and decide how much money you can allocate to spend on your health and fitness. With a budget, make sure that you note any accessories that you may need to purchase. You may need extra weights or an extra set of handles.
Set Realistic Expectations
Commercial gyms, with high-end machines and large spaces, are expensive for a reason. Depending on the design you go for, there may be some limitations to your product. Cheaper home gyms tend to be smaller and much more limited. Compact home gyms can do wonders for you, but it can also be irritating if you are restricted in the range of motion or by lack of resistance.
Manufacturers will pack as much as they can and keep the price as low as possible to sell their products. If you are opting for a cheaper machine, just know that compromises must be made. Sometimes the motion may be a bit jerky, the cables might feel a little flimsy, or the seat may be a bit wobbly. This isn’t to discourage you as you can’t expect the same commercial gym-grade workout with a compact machine.
Use the machine as intended, and you should be pleasantly surprised with the results!
Conclusion
I hope this article helps you to find the better equipment for the Compact Gym which can fit anywhere.
