1. Apple AirPods Pro

Sale
Apple AirPods Pro
295,706 Reviews

The Apple AirPods Pro earbuds feature noise-canceling technology that is superior to their standard model of AirPods. They include a wireless charging case that holds a charge up to an additional 20 hours, where the actual earbuds battery lasts up to 4.5 hours. The AirPods Pro are equipped with impressive technology that allows the earpieces to sense when you place them in your ears or take them out.

They will play and pause according to their movement. They also allow you to play music with just a simple touch to one earbud, skip forward a track with just two taps to one earbud, and skip backward with a triple tap. The Airpods Pro include three pairs of silicone ear tips which allow you to customize your earbuds for maximum comfort.

Pros
  • Quality noise-cancellation technology
  • Wireless charging case
  • Secure in-ear fit
  • Comfortable
  • Easy on-ear control settings
Cons
  • Expensive
  • No on-ear volume controls

Sample Customer Review… “Apple hit a home run with these… I wanted the original AirPods but couldn’t get them to fit in my ear. I have tried other true wireless earbuds and never liked the look or fit of them. With the AirPods Pro, Apple has answered my prayers, and they’re even better than I could have imagined. The sound cancellation is LEGIT. I own the Bose 700 noise-canceling headphones, and while they’re not as good at noise cancellation as those, I’m blown away by how close it is. The sound quality as well sounds very good to me. I’m by no means an audiophile but I’m a little picky as far as this goes and I’m more than pleased. The ability to switch from noise-canceling to transparency mode is awesome as well.”

2. Samsung Galaxy Buds Live

In a bean-shaped design, the Samsung Galaxy Live earbuds are one of the most innovative wireless earbuds of the year. They have an open design which makes them comfortable and gives them a secure fit. While having a secure fit, they will not fit everyone’s ears equally as well.

They have a good noise-canceling feature but are not as noise-isolating as other wireless earbuds. The background noise reduction feature allows callers to hear you even while you are in noisy areas. The Samsung Galaxy Buds Live are also water-resistant.

Pros
  • Open Design
  • Comfortable
  • Background Noise Reduction
  • Water-resistant
Cons
  • Will not fit everyone’s ears the same

Sample Customer Review… “I never write reviews but I sure do read a ton of them before buying a product. I’ve owned dozens of earbuds, neckbands, etc… and the Galaxy Buds Live beat them all. For comparison, I have the Buds Plus, Jabra 75t active, and my personal favorite, the Spigen Legato neckband. The Buds live are my new favorites! The sound is amazing, noise-canceling works as advertised, and, at least for me, I don’t miss the in-ear tips. I get ear infections from time to time and I’m convinced it’s because of the ear tips for the aforementioned earbuds. I would clean the tips and my ears daily but would still get ear infections. On a side note, I like how discreet they are, I have the mystic black which is paired to my Galaxy Fold, they fit perfectly in my ears. Lastly, I had three conference calls already and the call quality is awesome. These buds stayed in my ears for over four hours straight with no discomfort whatsoever. Bottom line, these might not be for everyone but they’re a technical godsend for me. Hope this review helps you in your decision process.”

 3. Bose QuietComfort Earbuds

Bose’s QuietComfort Earbuds are a great fit for those looking for impressive noise cancellation. These wireless earbuds come equipped with eleven levels of noise cancellation, allowing you to hear varying levels of ambiance for all your daily needs. Three of these levels can be set as favorites, which you can easily swap between by tapping on the left earbud. Their battery life is six hours per charge, which can be extended to eighteen with their included charging case. Also included are 3 sizes of silicone ear tips, so that you can get the most secure fit for these effective earbuds.

Pros
  • Effective noise-cancelling
  • Comfortable
  • Easy Controls
  • Long Battery Life
Cons
  • Expensive
  • Cannot automatically swap between devices
  • Bulky charging case
  • Mic is sensitive to outside sound.

Sample Customer Review… “Deserves more than 5 stars. So comfortable that you even forget you are wearing it. My ear would hurt wearing Apple and Samsung products for an extended period of time, but this is something from heaven. Battery life is amazing. I sometimes even sleep in them because noise canceling is so good. When comes to noise-canceling Apple, Amazon, and Samsung don’t even come close. Noise-cancelling is as good as QC headphones if not better. The sound quality is so good that you can listen to every beat and chord crisply, unlike cheap headphones with huge bass. Great for calls, I do all my work calls on it. The sound and mic quality is epic. People don’t even realize I am using earphones. It ain’t cheap, but the good stuff is never cheap.”

4. Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2

These Wireless Headphones are packed with incredible sound quality, battery life, and noise-canceling technology.  Their battery life lasts up to 7 hours but includes a charging case that has a battery life of up to 28 hours. The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 also supports Hi-Res audio. These headphones are completely wireless, which makes them perfect for on-the-go and exercise. Although these are on the more expensive side, their various features justify the price.

Pros
  • Immaculate Sound
  • Great Battery Life
  • Noise-cancelling
  • Sleek and Stylish
Cons
  • Expensive
  • Uncomfortable for Smaller Ears

Sample Customer Review… “I have owned dozens and dozens of earbuds trying to find a comfortable pair that sound decent. I have been met with nothing but failures until these. I typically can not wear earbuds for more than 30 minutes without having ear fatigue. I do daily workouts and can’t stand the sweat build-up from over-the-ear style headphones. So, I wanted earbuds that sounded great, provided long-term comfort, provided a fit that would stay in during intense workouts, and had good noise-canceling for commutes and plane rides. I would have been happy to find a set that provided 3 of the 5 listed above criteria. The Sennheiser TW Momentum 2’s knocked all 5 out of the park and sound as good as my over-the-ear headphones. This product is a “do it all” earbud that excels at every use case. Incredible sound, check. Extreme comfort, check. Workout ready, check. Noise-canceling on par with the best available, check. If you want the best earbuds as of the date of this writing, look no further. You have found the holy grail of true wireless sound.”

5. Etymotic ER4SR

The Etymotic ER4SR earphones are perfect for those looking for earphones with impeccable accuracy. They include ear tip options that provide comfort. If you would like to hear your audio with little embellishment or if you are an audio professional, these are the earphones for you. Since they are so expensive, if you are not looking for sound accuracy, these may not be for you.

Pros
  • Great accuracy
  • Ear tip options
Cons
  • Not for an average listener
  • Expensive

Sample Customer Review… “For those of you looking through reviews here, you probably aren’t someone who’s used to throwing down $300 for audio equipment, as I was when I purchased this item. The TL;DR of my review is that you should buy ER4SR if and only if you wish to use it for breaking down sounds and analyzing music. The flat tune will not give you the same fun listening experience compared to the cheaper IEMs with less clarity but heavier bass. It is an absolute delight to enjoy music with ER4SR, but it’s not the same as the earphones tuned to deliver fun sounds. I personally purchased this item at $159 on a sale. If these go down anywhere below $200, it is a steal and you should definitely grab them.”

6. Sony MDRXB50AP Earbud Headphones

The Sony MDRXB50AP Earbuds are for those who love a great bass. They are designed with 12-millimeter dome-type driver units which create a deep bass. These provide a listening experience like no other. While listening to your deep bass, you will be delighted to find out the earbuds are extremely comfortable due to hybrid-silicone earbuds.

Pros
  • Deep Bass
  • Comfortable
  • Lightweight
Cons
  • Wired

Sample Customer Review… “First I thought that these would be the typical earbuds that would sound fine for the day. I wore these and listened to music for 5 seconds and I was shocked. The bass is AMAZING. This is the easiest buy for $30, with crystal-clear sound, incredible bass, and cool looks. The earbuds I got were pictured as a “light blue”, but when I got them they were a darker blue with a metallic look, which looked way cooler. The structure is nice, the removable earpieces don’t fall off so easily, but you can remove them and put them back on without a sweat. Overall, I recommend this as the best sound for $30.”

7. Beats Powerbeats Pro

Looking for a pair of in ear headphones for your next workout? Beats’ Powerbeats Pro are the top-performing wireless earbuds in the fitness category. The ear hooks ensure these buds will remain in place for even the most high-intensity workout. Their reinforced design also ensures that you won’t have to worry about potential sweat or water damage. With 9 hours of listening time and suitably heavy bass levels, these earbuds will be sure to keep you motivated to reach and surpass your fitness goals.

Pros
  • Adjustable ear hooks keep buds in.
  • Dual volume controls for both buds.
  • Sweat and water-resistant
  • Long battery life
Cons
  • Mainly intended for fitness
  • Geared for iPhone users
  • Bulky
  • Occasional Bluetooth issues

Sample Customer Review… “I was on the fence about these. I have very tiny ears and have always had an issue with earbuds staying in my ears, especially while working out or walking. These come with smaller rubber pieces for your ears and the fact that they go over the top of the ear was really the deciding factor for me. They come in an awesome case that is very easy to charge and they synced right away with my phone. I’m still working on my Fitbit but only because I’m having trouble downloading my music onto it (no fault of the headphones). Having said all that, I am glad I spent the money on these. I had really given up on most of the cheaper ones because I just couldn’t find ones that fit perfectly, and these are just right!”

8. Jabra Elite Active 75t

The Jabra Elite Active 75t earphones are true wireless headphones with a secure fit. These headphones feature intense bass and powerful audio. Since they are on the more expensive-side of wireless earphones, they have features that not all wireless earbuds would have.

They are completely durable and waterproof, which make them highly sought-after. The Jabra Elite Active 75t are the perfect earphone for gym-goers and on-the-go individuals. They feature control buttons on both earpieces which makes them easy to use. The secure fit provides additional noise-cancellation. The battery life is estimated to be 7.5 hours. These earbuds include a charging case that provides an additional 28 hours.

Pros
  • Secure Fit
  • Powerful Bass and Audio
Cons
  • Expensive

Sample Customer Review… “I am so happy with these earbuds! The hear-through option is great, although I wish they would allow you to up the outside volume to almost double as like a hearing aid when I’m having a hard time hearing someone… The range with Bluetooth 5.0 is amazing. I also sometimes wear just the right ear. Fit is very comfortable, I’ve been wearing them for 3 days now (about 4-8 hours each day) and I’m forgetting that they are there. Battery life is super great, I haven’t maxed it out yet and I feel like I’m using them longer than the average person. Very happy with the Jabra+ app. Sometimes when I’m in a meeting I play the birdsong in the background and I’m happy in my own world… Trying to think of cons… other than being able to amplify outside hear-through even more, I can’t really think of any, other than the price is a little high.”

9. Tin Audio T2

These earphones have an extremely solid build for a great price. If you are looking for extremely basic earbuds that will not cost you a lot, look into buying the Tin Audio T2 earphones. The sound quality is fantastic for the price of these. They do not contain a flat frequency, but they do emphasize all the right parts. The Tin Audio T2 earbuds are great for commuters.

Pros
  • Inexpensive
Cons
  • Braided Cable is not well-built

Sample Customer Review… “This is an amazing product for the price! Really superb build quality and finish on the product. The audio sounds phenomenal as well. Also, the foam inserts that are included are very high-quality, very comfortable, and do a fantastic job of canceling out a lot of the ambient noise. In addition, the foam will also help reduce the microphonics that usually occurs in silicon earbud inserts. Overall, I am very happy with these headphones and would highly recommend them to anyone!”

10. Sony WF-1000XM3

The Sony WF-1000XM3 headphones are portable, cable-free headphones that have noise-canceling features that are good for any area with high volume. A charging case and various different sizes of silicone and foam ear tips are included. Touch controls are featured on the back of the earpieces for easier access. The Sony WF-1000XM3 features a companion application that allows you to modify the sound to your liking. Overall, the Sony WF-1000XM3 headphones are truly wireless and noise-canceling headphones that have a great sound quality and battery life.

Pros
  • More Portable than over-ear and on-ear headphones
  • Noise Cancelling
  • Great for public settings and traveling due to noise canceling feature
  • Compact and Lightweight
  • Securely stay in ears
  • Charging case included
  • Good for blocking out noise
Cons
  • In-ear fit could be uncomfortable to some
  • Not as sweat resistant as other headphones
  • Lack stability fins and hooks
  • Limited touch controls
  • Not good for sports

Sample Customer Review… “After catching the cord for my old earbuds on various things and sending my phone flying on more than one occasion, I needed a pair of wireless earbuds for the gym. I settled on the WF-1000XM3 after reading reviews; they looked to be of good quality and the price seemed reasonable compared to similar products. I’ve had them for about a month now, and so far, so good!

The default size fits my ear nicely, but I like that they come in 3 different sizes (in two different materials) to try. The setup was easy, and the sound quality is great. The noise-canceling feature is pretty decent as well, though you really have to screw these things into your ears for it to work properly – and even then, some movements/noises seem to throw it off from time to time. Battery life is great as well – the case does a good job of keeping them ready to roll. I’ve recharged them 2-3 times since I got them, and I probably only needed to do so once.”

11. Cambridge Audio Melomania 1

No products found.

Cambridge Audio has award-winning engineering that shows itself through the Melomania 1 earbuds. Alongside their 45 hours of battery life, the audio quality is particularly impressive. They are on the cheaper side of wireless earbuds but have extremely impressive quality. The only downside to these earbuds is that they are not noise-canceling. The Melomania 1 are also equipped with Bluetooth technology, making pairing easier. The included charging case can fully charge the buds 4 times per charge. These earbuds take just up to 30 minutes to charge, while the charging case takes up to two hours.

Pros
  • Affordable
  • Comfortable
  • Long Battery Life
  • Great Audio Quality
Cons
  • Not Noise-cancelling
  • Control buttons are not ideal

Sample Customer Review… “These buds are fantastic. Best if worn with the accompanying memory foam pads (make sure you twist them in as instructed.) They sound great, natural with good separation, not over bassy, not tinny. The battery life is why I bought them over everything else. I have not worn them for 9 hours, but I have worn them through a 7 1/2 hour workday without a hitch, including call answering which works fine. There were no complaints from mine or the other end of the calls.

The buds are independent, and either can act as the primary in pairing, or they can both be used singly. My one complaint is that if I need to hear something in my immediate environment, I have to turn them off (easy) and pull one out (pain in the butt.) They work like memory foam earplugs which is great most of the time, but not when someone is trying to talk to me. There are buds on the market that turn on the outside sound when you pause them (Sony does this particularly well) and this feature would make these perfect. I love these. I use them for many hours a day listening to books and music. I recommend you don’t hesitate to buy these exceptional wireless earbuds.”

12. Bose QuietControl 30

The Bose QuietControl live up to the high standard of Bose. They are completely noise-canceling and provide incredible sound quality. A smart collar band that provides comfort comes attached to these earphones which makes them near-wireless. Although this may be a deterrence, the collar is easily hidden under shirts. These are perfect for commuters and in-office use. They come with a carry case and three different sizes of ear tips. Their battery life holds up to 10 hours.

Pros
  • Noise-cancelling
  • Incredible Comfort
Cons
  • Smart Collar Band

Sample Customer Review… “I LOVE these earphones. Just took four flights in the last week, and they were fantastic. You don’t realize the magnitude of ambient noise in an airport or on the plane until you have something that truly reduces it. I’d say these earbuds cancel about 80-90% of the airport/flight noise. It’s like I’m in my own little bubble of quiet, and I can listen to my music at a far lower volume, I can sleep, or just chill. If needed I can take out an earbud to listen to something important, or adjust down the noise cancellation with the controls on the earbuds.

My regular old earbuds, when those are crammed in my ears as far as they go, they passively cancel noise equivalent to about 65% of what these Bose earbuds cancel actively. So the Bose earbuds cancel noise almost twice as much. And they’re far more comfortable to wear since they don’t need to be crammed in at all. I’m not an audiophile, but I’m a musician, and I’d say the sound quality is excellent. I’m new to wireless earbuds, and man it’s awesome. No more untangling a rat’s nest of wire to plug in, or snagging them and having them yanked out of my ears.

Also, this unit connects to multiple devices simultaneously, which is really cool (the only one can play at a time, but they switch instantly between them, whichever one is playing). I can have a movie playing on my laptop, get up and get something from the next room with the audio still playing, and then switch to my phone to take a call (yes you can take calls with these earbuds, and it’s awesome).”

13. Klipsch T5M Wired

The Klipsch T5M Wired Headphones are not only affordable but also comfortable headphones. The buds feature a 5mm driver with silicone ear tips that create extreme comfort. With the in-line remote and mic feature, they are compatible with most smartphones. Caught in the rain? No problem! These headphones are completely sweat- and water-resistant.

Pros
  • Comfortable
  • Affordable
  • Sweat/Water-Resistant
  • Detailed Sound
Cons
  • Wired
  • Generate Cable Noise

Sample Customer Review… “These are excellent earphones with great sound and reasonably priced. Normally you will find user reviews of in the earphones criticizing the sound quality – this is often due to people not inserting the ‘phones properly and making the good seal needed for sound quality and good bass. There are lots of reviews here saying that the sound is distant with these earphones or that speech had a lisp. After using these earphones for a while I have realized that as these particular earphones fit into the ear canal better than most (as they are designed for comfort) you can actually push them too far and essentially block the sound. This makes everything sound distant. These are great-sounding earphones just make sure that that you use the right silicone tips that are comfortable and make a good seal and don’t push them in too far.”

14. Libratone Track+

The Libratone Track+ headphones are perfect for those who are looking for noise-cancelling technology, great bass, and comfort. The earbuds allow for a secure and comfortable fit. Their battery life lasts up to 8 hours. Three ear tips and two wings are included with purchase. Although they are extremely comfortable, the long cable makes activities like running and exercising difficult.

Pros
  • Noise-cancelling
  • Secure Fit
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Long Cable
  • Tricky to locate controls while exercising

Sample Customer Review… “These are some of the best sounding, most comfortable, feature-packed earbuds I’ve ever owned. These buds have such clarity, a pretty wide sound stage, good instrument separation, and the bass is controlled but still thumps pretty good!! My ears never get any fatigue from these, they are so light and are shaped just right to slide into my ear. I was very very surprised at how great the ANC worked!!

Also, you can adjust it or set it to smart mode where it detects the noise around you and adjusts on its own. Ambient mode works really well, I can hear everything around me but it’s not superhuman hearing. Lastly, the charging case is tiny, a little bit bigger than the AirPods Pro case. I wouldn’t say I’m an audiophile by any means but I’ve tried almost every single earbud that’s out there right now (Sony, Sennheiser, Samsung, Apple, Bose, Jabra, Anker, Panasonic, Technical, ATH, Klipsch, and so on) and these are one of the very few that I haven’t sold off, and I use as one of my daily drivers!”

15. Urbanista London

With a similar look to the Apple AirPods Pro earbuds, the Urbanista London wireless earbuds have a well-balanced sound. They feature noise-canceling technology with a transparency mode. They also feature a sensor that detects when you take the earbuds out of your ears and pauses your music. Detailed sound will provide you with a seamless listening session. They are perfect for making calls because of their noise reduction technology.

Pros
  • Water-resistant
  • Well-balanced sound
  • Noise reduction
  • Defined Bass
Cons
  • Limited touch controls

Sample Customer Review… “These Urbanista earbuds are amazing. They are lightweight and fit great in your ears. I have been super active with these earbuds going on runs and doing yard work and have had zero issues with them falling out or noise quality. The battery life on these earbuds are the best for any wireless device I have ever used. I love the small carrying case that they come in and how quickly they charge. A must-buy for anyone who is super active and looking for some sleek earbuds.”

16. Optoma NuForce BE Sport4

The Optoma NuForce BE Sport4 headphones are the full package when it comes to wireless earbuds. They are precisely designed for motion such as working out at the gym and on the track. Although they are designed for motion, they also have the capability of isolating audio in high-volume areas. These earbuds are very affordable but still have a great build and impeccable audio. The battery life of these earbuds is 10-hours. They also charge extremely fast.

Pros
  • Incredible Audio
  • Affordable
  • Ideal for exercise
  • Customized earbuds
  • Portable
Cons
  • Unable to do one-ear listening

Sample Customer Review… “This was my first pair of Bluetooth headphones. I ran across them in an online review. At $70, they’re not the cheapest, nor the most expensive. But, they sure are made well. The pairing was easy, the magnets in each headset keep them from falling off your neck, and the largest foam earpieces really block external noise well. And, being an ex-radio guy, I have keen ears for audio, and the fidelity of these headphones I feel is impeccable. Plus, the little clip-on carrying case makes them harder to lose as well. I haven’t tried the many other various earpiece adapters that come with them, but with that many options, everyone should be able to find the comfort and fit they need. I couldn’t be happier.”

Things to Consider When Buying the Best In Ear Headphones

Finding Your Fit

The most important factor in purchasing the best in-ear headphones is making sure they will fit your ears. Fortunately, most pairs of in ear headphones do come included with a few different sizes of ear tips. These small pieces of silicon or memory foam can be attached over the earbuds in order to find the best fit for your ears. In general, the best fit will be one that allows the silicon tips to fit snugly inside of your ear canals. The pressure might be noticeable, at first, but it should not be painful. A good fit should also minimize “ear fatigue,” or lasting soreness in the ear canal following the use of your in ear headphones.

Wired or Wireless?

In ear headphones come in a variety of styles, but one of the most notable distinctions is between wired and wireless. Wired headphones can be connected to a phone or laptop via a headphone jack. They are generally less expensive than wireless headphones, but some may require a small adaptor in order to connect to the latest technology, such as newer smartphones. However, they do not ever need to be charged. These might work best for more stationary activities, like listening to music or answering a phone call.

Wireless in ear headphones can link with most technology through their built-in Bluetooth capabilities. However, these do need to be charged and tend to be more expensive than wired headphones. They would work well for more active pursuits, such as running. A newer offshoot from this type of in ear headphones are “true wireless” headphones. These do not have a wire connecting the left and right earbuds. These are often the most expensive types of in ear headphones.

Earbuds and Earphones

Though “earbuds” is commonly used as a catch-all term for compact headphones only covering your ears, there is a small distinction between earbuds and earphones. Earbuds do not actually enter your ear, and tend to hang onto the outside of the canal. They are usually bigger and could require external support that earphones do not. Meanwhile, earphones do enter slightly into the ear canal. These smaller devices are better for blocking outside noises, but can be more of a hassle to put in and remove. Finding the best in ear headphones will involve choosing which of these styles suits you best.

Usage

Your choice of the best in ear headphones will narrow further when you consider what you specifically want to use them for. For example, some people want in ear headphones to use for running or working out. Not all in ear headphones will work for this case— it would be important for you to find a pair that advertises itself as sweat- or water-resistant, to avoid damaging them by accident.
