The rubber ear pads aren’t the most comfortable but are easily replaced with the foam kind available on Amazon.

A couple of months ago I bought the TaoTronics earbuds with active noise cancelling. I needed another set for my wife so I decided to try the Sony MDRXB50AP which doesn’t have noise cancelling.
With TaoTronics, there is a huge background noise difference when noise cancelling is activated, at least when flying. Even though Sony doesn’t have noise cancelling, it does a good job blocking out the engine noise – about the same as TaoTronics with active noise cancelling. It really does have extra bass. Wouldn’t want any more. Overall sound quality is quite good. The earbuds are reasonably comfortable, slightly better than TaoTronics.
They don’t easily fall out of my ears. Unfortunately, I bought the headphones for $45, which is more than they cost now. However, I am still happy with the value. At today’s price, you can’t go wrong. If I had to buy another set I would buy these and not the TaoTronics.I have never listened to an expensive set of earbuds so maybe I don’t know what I’m missing. However, I prefer using these over my Bose QC-15 headphones when I travel.

Now let’s talk about Bluetooth. Without boring you with all the different versions, its origins, and how it works. I will only talk about the two Bluetooth types that might be included with the headphones on the list. Bluetooth 4.2, is a bit older but can transfer data up to 1 Mbps, which is already much better than most headphones. Also, it has a range of effects of 30 feet, within which the headphone will work fine. After Bluetooth 4.2, comes the newest Bluetooth 5.0, which can transfer data at a speed up to 2 Mbps and has a range of 260 feet.
Price
The cheapest is not always the best and neither is the most expensive. Hopefully, I have enough diversity in my list to prove both points. If you are truly lost and don’t know where to start at all, then create a budget for yourself. Try to find an item that matches your budget and resonates with you.
Bluetooth
At the end of the day a Bluetooth 4.2 works just as well as 5.0 so don’t limit yourself by thinking that you must absolutely have the latest hardware. You don’t need it.
