Best Keurig Coffee Makers

12 Best Keurig Coffee Makers

Do you want to make rich and delicious coffee from your house? That’s why you should choose a Keurig!

The very first Keurig was a single-serve brewing machine that used coffee pods founded in Massachusetts in 1992. In 1998 they launched the first brewer and K-pods that was made for the office market. Once it gained exposure and popularity they then began making some just for the house. This proves that some of the office machines are particularly made for larger groups of people.

What is a Keurig?

The Keurig is a single-cup coffee maker that includes the idea of a drip coffee maker which can be used to give you a fast cup of coffee. Although the Keurig was based on making coffee, due to the technology evolving it can now be used to make hot or cold drinks including hot cocoa, iced tea, and some even can make cappuccinos.

What are K-Cups?

K Cups are little pods that have ground coffee in them. Each packaging of the pods contains how fresh the cups actually are. It is contained in a sealed little pod to ensure that once opened it is fresh.

Ever consider which Keurig is the best for coffee makers? All of the items that I will be listing below are the top Keurigs recommended preferably to what you are looking for? Whether you want just a generic coffee maker nothing too big or do you drink a lot of coffee and want to find a machine that will provide you with the most amount!

1. Keurig K-Elite

This Elite version of the Keurig comes with a 6 count k-cup variety pack and a water filter and another filter to make sure you get the best taste out of each brew. This product allows you to brew coffee for hot or iced coffee. There is a large water reservoir which allows you to make 8 different drinks before you will need to put more water in it.

In order to brew, it allows for 5 cup sizes 4, 6, 8, 10 oz. In this K-Elite you can make a variety of beverages like coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and iced beverages. With all of these options, it is hard not to enjoy such a machine where you can make a variety of things and it simply takes one minute until you can enjoy it!

Specifications

  • Brews k-cup pods
  • 1 Minute Brew Time
  • Energy Saver
Pros
  • Energy Saver
  • Brewer Maintenance Reminder
Cons
  • Water may leak from the reservoir

Sample customer review…This is the best Keurig brewer made so far. I am coming from all the super deluxe features and touchscreen of the K575 and I don’t miss any of them! The flavor of the coffee brewed by this new Elite model rivals any coffee shop! A taste comparison of the same coffee from the 575 vs. Elite proves the Elite steps ahead! The design is more streamlined. There is NO MORE: Touchscreen, larger pod capability, carafe, Multi-color water tank, or 2.0 Keurig lockout for non-Keurig branded pods, or long, noisy wait times for heating. There IS the capability for multiple brew sizes, a brew over ice feature, Hot water at the press of a button WITHOUT having to lift the lid, A digital clock with Auto-On feature, Auto-Off after various time intervals, a much better pod system mechanism, and a very quick and much less noisy heating system between brews! You can also adjust the water temperature, there is a setting for those in high elevations and a much-improved drip tray that is much more scratch-resistant. You can also remove the drip tray and there is a platform for travel mugs. The system performs much better overall and the coffee taste output is the best yet even without choosing the STRONG BREW setting which is also featured! The only two things I would change is to have the water tank cover hinged (you have to remove the entire top on this one although I like the rectangular design of the Elite better than the weird shape of the K575 one) and it would be more convenient if the clock were in a lower area, as it is hard to see when the Elite is rolled back under the cabinets. Retails for 169.99 but shop around and you can find some better discounts and promotions. This is currently, in my opinion, the Keurig to buy above all others!

2. Keurig K-Classic

This is a very classic all-around K-Classic Keurig that accepts three sizes 6,8,10 normally bigger sizes. Although this one is old it still is very classic. It is recommended to use the 6 oz to receive the best brew. The 48 oz reservoir allows you to make only 4 to 5 cups of coffee. If you are looking for just a plain classic Keurig without all of the latest that is still affordable this is the one to choose! There are buttons on the Keurig that are plain and simple to follow in under a minute. After you are finished brewing, the Keurig cuts off to save energy.

Specifications

  • Brews k-cup pod
  • 1 Minute Brew Time
  • 48 oz reservoir
Pros
  • Cuts off automatically
  • Able to use reusable cups as well as k-cups
Cons
  • Not as high tech as the others

Sample customer review…Packaged well. Arrived on time. Works exactly as described. I like that you can choose different size cups to make as I may not want a pot of coffee but may want a little more than just the 8 oz cup. I like the size of the water reservoir and also that it has a charcoal filter in the reservoir. It heats the water fast and you have a fresh hot cup of coffee ready to enjoy. I also like that coffee is not the only thing this can be used for. I can brew a cup of tea or make a nice hot cup of hot chocolate! This is very useful! I personally don’t think the size is too large on my countertop. Being able to purchase so many different flavor K-cups is nice so I can match my coffee to my mood or what I’m doing also that you can purchase a refillable K-cup to use other blends of coffee preferred not available in K-cups. This is definitely worth it. If I had to go back, I would definitely purchase again.

3. Keurig K-Cafe

This is the K-Cafe which means that it does coffee, latte and also can make cappuccinos. The Keurig comes with 4 cup sizes 6,8,10 and 12 oz. It also includes a large 60 oz water reservoir which allows for 6 or more cups before you would have to refill it. The Benefits of this one it also has a dishwasher-safe frother that allows for milk (skim, soy or almond). Are you traveling? This one takes on tall travel mugs or any larger glasses that you want to fill with coffee. This Keurig is more expensive but it makes more than just generic coffee and for those who love lattes and cappuccino then this one is right for you.

Specifications

  • Brews any K-Cup Pod
  • Energy efficient
Pros
  • Dishwasher-safe frother
  • Easy to clean/maintain
Cons
  • May not last more than 7 months

Sample customer review…This is just what I needed! I only drink a cup of coffee a day – it’s usually a latte or mocha. I got my K cup universal filter, I use my favorite Starbucks coffee and I get 2 espresso shots per use. The milk foamer is perfect – I’ve used half/half, heavy whipping cream, and almond milk – so far no issues with that. I get nice foam with all 3. Totally worth what I paid for it – in the long run, I will save money and this machine will have paid for itself!

4. Keurig K-select

Getting out of the door without anyone waking up because you are being too noisy can sometimes be a struggle, but this Keurig may be able to help you a little bit. With quiet brew technology, getting out of the house in the morning may be a little easier!

There are many other features that this Keurig has as well! It has 4 different cup sizes, 6,8,10, and 12 ounces as well as a 52-ounce water reservoir. There is also a strong brew option for whenever you want a little bit of an extra boost!

Pros
  • Strong brew technology
  • Programmable auto-off feature
  • Different cup sizes
  • Quiet brew technology
Cons
  • Can not make iced coffee
  • Not as many different cup sizes

Sample customer review…Best thing I’ve ever purchased! Sounds like an exaggeration but I mean it! A Keurig will totally improve your morning coffee routine. I can make a cup of coffee in like 1 minute and it tastes perfect every time because I don’t have to measure the coffee and water as you do with traditional coffee makers. It’s also very easy to use and it was very easy to learn. I also love that I can easily make different flavors/brands of coffee for me and my husband every morning. Brewing traditional pots of coffee are very time-consuming when you brew 2 different varieties; but not with a Keurig! I can make me and my husband 2 different flavors of coffee in under maybe 3 minutes! At night I love to use my Keurig to make a cup of tea. It’s gotta be the quickest and easiest way to make a cup of tea! I am a Keurig user for life and think every coffee and tea drinker should have one; it will be the best thing you ever buy!

Perfect for an office, you get 4, 6, 8, 10-ounce serving sizes to compliment everyone. Specifications

  • Fast brewing
  • Temperature control
Pros
  • Large water reservoir
  • Touch screen
Cons
  • Expensive

Sample customer review…Where to start…LOVE, LOVE LOVE! We had been looking for a long time for a new machine and willing to spend some money on it. Even machines in the multi-hundred dollar range were still getting negative feedback about one consistent problem or another. We looked at the new version and the older and de died on this one. Good choice! The water reservoir is much bigger than the other and I couldn’t believe how much water we went through, so this is a great feature. The screen is LCD and has all kinds of little pics while your coffee is preparing, water level, choice of four different sized coffees (4,6,8,10), programs for on/off, etc. bought a side coffee station and I feel like I’m leaving Starbucks every morning to take the kids to school.

6. Keurig K-Mini Plus Coffee Maker

This mini Keurig is perfect for someone who wants generic use at the perfect compact size. Compact means that it has cord storage for easy travel, and it also has storage for k cups if you do not want them out you can store them inside of it. It is able to brew the normal sizes 6-12 oz. The main difference in this one is that you have to add water to each brew because of its size there is not a separate reservoir for more than one use.

Another good thing about the mini plus is that it comes in cute colors like Red, Teal, Grey, White. Why not be fashionable and enjoy your coffee. This is perfect if you have an apartment or you want this simply in your dorm room it is small enough to provide the same benefits just not as huge!

Specifications

  • Reusable K-Cups
  • Has an Auto-off feature
Pros
  • Travel mug friendly
  • Pod storage
Cons
  • Have to add water each time
  • Coffee brew may not be as hot as the bigger versions

Sample customer review…I absolutely love this mini Keurig. It’s perfect for my home office. It’s easy to set up and use. It doesn’t take up a lot of counter space so it’s a good fit for home offices, dorms, and small apartments. I can quickly make a 6-12 oz cup of coffee. Best of all, the coffee comes out hot, not lukewarm. The water reservoir is removable so I can quickly fill it up. It comes with a storage bin that holds up to 9 k-cups. It’s also travel-mug friendly. If I remove the bottom stand it accommodates my taller travel mug. For those that like a stronger cup of coffee, it has a strong brew setting.

7. Keurig K575 Single Serve Programmable K-Cup Coffee Maker

This K575 is a very high-tech k cup coffee maker that provides the perfect brew every time! It includes the following k-cup pods, k-mug pod, k-carafe pod brew sizes. This shows that although it is a normal Keurig you can use it to fill up to 18 oz mugs and a 22-30 oz carafe! It has multiple features like a night light for the kitchen at night.

This Keurig comes with features like strength control which allows you to control the temperature and the size of your brew, and a large touch screen with a program that allows you to set an on and off timer that is there to save energy. The timer can be very convenient for you in the morning when you wake up and go downstairs it will be on and ready for use.

Specifications

  • Able to fit many sizes
  • 80 oz water reservoir
Pros
  • Touch screen
  • Auto Brew (carafe only)
Cons
  • May have maintenance issues

Sample customer review…This K575 unit replaced an older K475 which I liked until its DRM eye stopped working. The coffee tastes much better made in this new unit compared to the old one, and it is noticeably hotter. The larger water tank on it is really great; I have to fill it only about every other day after my husband I use it multiple times per day for tea and coffee. We generally use K-cups in it, but I’ve used the hot water dispensing function for tea bags a few times as well. I’m not particularly picky about my tea, so I didn’t bother to use the adjustable temp setting on it to make tea with bags, but it tasted good to me. If you are picky about your tea, you can make the water hotter if you want. What really like about having the Keurig, in general, is making hot coffee to go. I live in a colder climate and having an insulated Dixie cup full of coffee at the touch of a button to take with me on my way to work during the winter months is one of those little things that really mean a whole lot. Life just wouldn’t be the same without it.

8. Keurig K-Duo Coffee Maker

This Duo Keruig comes with the regular Keurig plus a second side for the glass carafe where you can make a larger batch of coffee. Although you get a lot in this combination think about the benefits, with this item you can make a large batch for other people in the house and then also make your specialty drink. It comes with multiple brew sizes 6, 8, 10, 12 for the Keurig and for the glass carafe. When you purchase this it is recommended that you also get the gold reusable coffee filter for the carafe.

Specifications

  • Comes with a 12-cup glass carafe
  • Programmable Carafe auto-brew
Pros
  • Able to use both coffee grounds and K-Cup pods
  • Heating plate
Cons
  • May not keep desired cup settings
  • Strong Brew feature is a bit weak

Sample customer review…This is the best drip coffee machine I have owned. The operational learning curve is 2 minutes or less. Once you push the start button, the machine panel lights up for you to press for a single cup or pot, then if you press the pot it moves to # of cups; you can choose “strong”; hit the lighted center button and the brewing begins. The pot gives a buzz signals you the brew is done. You do not need to read a book to get this baby going. The pot keeps hot until you turn it off. Wonderful, logical, and intuitive system.

9. Keurig K475

If refilling the water reservoir for your coffee machine is one of the biggest pains, the Keurig K475 might help to alleviate that! It has a large 70-ounce water reservoir that allows you to brew about 8 cups before having to refill it! This Keurig also has a wide variety of brew sizes ranging from 4 to 12 ounces, it can even brew a carafe up to 30 ounces!

This Keurig machine also lets you be your own at-home barista with its many different options and settings! These settings include, but are not limited to, brew-strength control, 5 different temperature settings, and an auto-on/auto-off feature.

Specifications

  • Brews 4-12 ounces
  • 70-ounce water reservoir
  • Strength control
  • Temperature settings
Pros
  • 4 to 12 ounce size
  • Can brew a carafe-with special k-cups
  • 70-ounce water reservoir
  • Strength control
  • Temperature settings
Cons
  • Can be somewhat noisy
  • Carafe sold separately

Sample customer review…I like the fact that I can control the brew strength and water temperature. I have not had a bad cup of coffee from this machine. I bought this size just to prevent having to refill the machine too often and I am happy it allows us at least 7-12oz cups before refilling. This just allows me to get out the door quicker. The machines with the smaller reservoir would be a point of contention for me. I am so happy with this new machine and the coffee flavor has been excellent as well. I have some Starbucks pods, Green Mountain, and tea pods, and each and everyone has been delicious: and I am quite the picky coffee drinker as I like it strong but not bitter. I have not gotten a bitter cup yet. Way to go Keurig!

10. Keurig 2.0 Series K250 Coffee Maker

The Keurig K250 offers major upgrades that are not seen in the basic level Keurig machine. The 2.0 series gives customers the option to brew a wide range of Keurig 2.0 pods such as K-Mug, K-Cup, and K-Carafe. This machine also features an advanced touchscreen, displaying a large upgrade in comparison to basic Keurig models that are equipped with push-button controls. The 40 oz water reservoir gives consumers the chance to create multiple cups of coffee before needing to refill the reservoir. Another key feature included in the Keurig K250 is the machine’s ability to quickly dispense hot water on demand.

Specifications

  • 40 oz reservoir
  • Ability to brew K-Mug, K-Cup, and K-Carafe Pods
  • Hot Water feature
Pros
  • Touch Screen
  • Strength control
  • Easy-to-use
  • Multiple color options
Cons
  • Cannot adjust coffee temperature
  • Smaller water reservoir

Sample customer review…I never owned a Keurig because I like my own coffee, and always drink several cups at a time. I was intrigued by the Plus series, but the questions and reviews said that Keurig did not sell an adapter for the carafe. The third-party reviews for the adapters were less than stellar. But, throwing caution to the wind, I ordered the K250 and several styles of adapters. As it turns out, the Keurig My Cup was the only one I needed. It brews either a cup OR a carafe, and you get to decide how large a batch you end up with. I am thrilled with this machine. An added bonus is that it comes in the exact color of accessories I use in my kitchen, which is beach-themed. It was in stock, so I received it from Amazon very quickly.

11. Keurig K15 K-Cup Machine

This Keurig K-15 is compact and just right for you ! It is able to brew 6-10 ounces with a single cup reservoir. The compact size coffee maker makes you able to brew in just two minutes. The single cup reservoir is for a fresh brew every single time! Although it is compact it also has cord storage and a removable drip tray. You may need to remove the tray if you have a taller mug. This coffee maker is very affordable for the benefits of also making tea, hot cocoa and iced beverages from your home!

Specifications

  • Small, Personal Design
  • One cup reservoir
Pros
  • Multi-colored
  • Auto shut-off
  • Affordable
Cons
  • Only one water reservoir
  • May not last long

Sample customer review…I have limited space in my kitchen so this compact Keurig is perfect for me. The machine is scaled down in overall size but still gives me the full functionality of the larger Keurig machines. This model does not have a water reservoir, which I actually prefer – I don’t like water remaining in the unit when not in use. With the K15 you add your water prior to making each individual cup. This also eliminates having to worry about how much water you’ll use when brewing – you get what you put in each time. The Platinum color is really nice looking. I also have this in red, which gives my office a great pop of color.

  • Fast-brewing

Buying Guide: Things to Consider When Buying a Keurig Coffee Maker

How to Use the Machine

In order to use a Keurig first, you put the pod or k cup into the machine or in the reusable filter, then once you set the settings to your preference it will begin to take the hot water from the reservoir and push it through into the cup. Once the water goes into the pod there are small holes at the bottom to allow the water to mix with the coffee grounds which will then drain into the cup. For best use make sure you choose the size of your cup to allow the machine to pour out the amount that is the best fit.

What kind things can you make with it

All of the Keurigs have different features, for instance, some only for the generic coffee making hot or cold. Other machines allow you to make cappuccino and lattes. Most of the generic machines allow you to make coffee, hot cocoa, and tea hot or cold depending on your preference! It is important to know what you can make with the machine before purchasing it.

What is a K-mug pod

The difference between a k-mug and just a regular k-cup is that the k mug pods are specifically designed for travel mug sizes to ensure that the quality and the brew will be enough to fill mug sizes. It is compatible with sizes 12, 14, 16 ounces which can be used at full strength. They are both the same in flavor and what they do, the difference is how many ounces it can be used for.

Benefits

The main benefit of purchasing a Keurig is being able to receive a fresh batch of coffee right at your fingertips. Once you choose your pod which contains flavor and being able to mix and make the perfect batch just for you! With this you can even choose the right size for even a regular coffee cup or if you are carrying a mug on the go! All of the settings on the Keurig are designed to ensure you make and brew what you want.

Conclusion

All of the information at the end of this article should have helped you pick the best Keurig maker for your specific needs. Each Keurig maker has special features and uses tailored to what you are looking for. Based on your experiences please provide reviews on the products listed as they will help the next person.
