Sample Customer Review… I bought this model after looking at many makes and models because it had many of the features I wanted without a lot of fancier ones I did not need. I was unsure I would like an electronic machine, had learned many years ago on a treadle machine, mom’s Westinghouse, and later her White machine that I inherited and let go of (regret that move).
So I ordered the CS6000i which I am very pleased with. It offers so many features for a reasonable price and is easy to use. Since it had been so long since I’d threaded a machine I followed the instructions closely. The bobbin is a dream to wind and insert, the machine threads quite easily and I love that you can adjust the speed.
Another thing I recommend is to buy a good quality thread; have read the cheaper ones tend to snag and jam things up. I’ll gladly pay more if it helps to avoid those problems. Hope this helps if you are thinking of purchasing this machine.Read more reviews at Amazon.com.

Some designs have been built in, some have been ones I purchased and used a thumb drive to put them on the machine. The screen on the machine is small..but still fairly easy to use.Read more reviews at Amazon.com.

Sample Customer Review… I have an ancient machine that’s such a pain that I’ve taken clothes to be altered rather than mess with it. I saw this one on Amazon Prime days and couldn’t be happier with my buy. It’s a good sturdy machine, nothing flimsy about it. The directions for threading it are actually on the machine itself, so it’s good for beginners because anyone who’s done any sewing can easily see how to thread it.
The bobbin winder is a snap, and my fave feature? There’s a flippin’ THREADER for the needle! I actually got a needle threader when I got this machine, knowing that I have trouble threading needles these days. Nifty threader! You pull down this little doohickey and stick part of it through the eye. You wind the thread across it and pull the doohickey back. That pulls a loop of thread through the eye.
You pull the rest of the loop through the eye, and voila! Nice touch. I’ve already caught up on a couple of sewing projects and look forward to finally blind stitching some hems.Read more reviews at Amazon.com.

Sample Customer Review… I LOVE this machine! I sew a lot, sometimes many hours a day for days at a time. I stick fairly close to the basic stitches, straight, some zig-zag, and buttonholes, so I really do not need a $3,000 machine that does 200 stitches. I have been using my last Singer for 30 years. I decided to treat myself to a new machine, and after reading a lot of reviews, bought this one.
It was truly like going from a black and white TV to a new color flat-screen. It is so easy to use! I love the storage compartment for the various attachments. It takes about two seconds to change a pressure foot. Although it is basic enough not to need much instruction for an experienced seamstress, the instruction booklet is extremely easy to follow.
I usually do all of my hems by hand, but decided to try the blind hem available on the machine, when doing a set of drapes. It turned out beautifully, and of course, took a fraction of the time. Highly recommend!Read more reviews at Amazon.com.

Sample Customer Review… Oh wow, my machine arrived and I am impressed! I am a Singer girl from way back but this is a dream machine if you are looking for a workhorse! I held off writing my review until I had put it through the paces. I am not a lightweight, sometimes sewer, I sew daily for several hours a day.
I have made clothing, a quilt, repaired denim, and made doll clothes, all since my machine arrived! It handled all without a hiccup! If you are looking for a pretty machine to set in your sewing room so you can say you have one, keep looking. This machine is not pretty. If you are looking for a workhorse,
I highly recommend this machine. All needed dials and knobs are within easy reach to change needed settings for each project, it’s a breeze to thread and wind bobbins, the reverse lever is a dream! It’s right where a serious sewer needs it! I have used the free arm several times! I confess I have not put a zipper in, nor have I used the buttonhole feature but I have had Singers in the past that work the same way so I am confident this will be no exception.
Love, love, love the machine! Thank you, Singer and Amazon!Read more reviews at Amazon.com.

Sample Customer Review… The best one yet. Last year I treated myself to a sewing machine, I returned it within a month, a day before the refund policy expired. I did this 3 times until I thought I found a good fit. I used that machine for a year. I forced and struggled with thicker fabrics and finally broke it. And then I saw this one and instantly fell in love.
I am self-taught and I make dog vests, coats, and harnesses for rescues. I had a bunch of products started but my old machine was just not keeping up. Today this one arrived and I just can’t express how much nicer it is. It glides through the nylon straps, like butter. It’s quiet, like a purr….for puuurrrrfect.
I have been sewing on a variety of fabrics for 8 hours today and I just can’t believe how beautiful and easy this machine is. Had I known then what I know now. I am in love with this machine. I did purchase the 3-year warranty through amazing for 6 bucks and change. This machine is worth the extra money. Way way better than my last brother gx37.Read more reviews at Amazon.com.

Sample Customer Review… This machine is an absolute joy to use!! HOW could anyone find fault with it, or rate it with anything less than 5 stars?!? To just touch on a couple of my favorite features: first off, I never even use the foot pedal anymore; the very sensitive and clearly-marked buttons that control starting (that one lights up Green when you’re actually ready to . . . ) and stopping (the same button: turns Red when Stopped!), as well as the Speed control slider,
just make the foot pedal obsolete; for me, anyway. OK, and when you reach the end of your seam, hit Stop – and then you can touch another button, marked with a pair of scissors – the machine chirps, the needle lifts, and both threads are cut! Another button lets you pick whether to have the needle in the raised or lowered position whenever you’re stopped. And the needle-threader!
Makes threading the needle such a piece of cake, and it’s no matter if the thread-end is frayed; it pushes a loop of your thread through the needle a few inches from the end! And you can wind bobbins while the needle is still threaded – I’m so happy to own one of these beautiful machines – you will be, too . . .Read more reviews at Amazon.com.

A convenient stitch panel on the front of the machine helps you to keep track of each stitch with a corresponding letter. Then the user can also refer to seam guides on the front of the machine, which measure for you, seam allowance.

Sample Customer Review… As a complete beginner, it was so easy to set up, start playing with and actually begin to sew with. The stitching is nice and it was fun to may my own “examples” so I know what I need to use when making projects. It is a wonderfully simple machine with enough bells and whistles to keep me busy for quite some time.
I do not perceive that I will outgrow this model for a while, even though I eventually plan to make elaborate items of classic ladies’ clothing with it. So far, I have already made an apron and it is a two-sided/reversible type. Literally, one hour out of the box it worked great – no snags, no birds nests – just nice even stitches.
Even the reverse button works well for strengthening the straps! I’m pleased it is light enough to carry although I purchased a nice roller bag specifically made for sewing machines so I could pack it back and forth between classes, a small sewing circle my friends and I created, and to my boyfriend’s home.
As a true beginner, I am really enjoying the process, and I believe it is because this Janome is well-rated, and has lived up to everything I read about it. I would recommend it to those who are considering taking up sewing or just want a sturdy, functional, yet enjoyable machine.Read more reviews at Amazon.com.

Sample Customer Review… I am loving it so far!!!!! It has been many years since I have not only had a sewing machine but had one which was easy to use. I previously had a different brand of machine, which I was never able to get to work properly and only provided me with countless nights of frustration before I finally got rid of it.
I don’t even think I was ever able to finish a project on it. After much research, I finally settled on purchasing this machine. So far it has served me very well and I have already completed two projects on it (both of them were bags). I am looking forward to my next project (curtains).
This machine was very easy to set up and get running from the get-go and I have already tested it out on denim and it had no issues! The machine is very simple to use and is well built. I also appreciated that the instruction manual was very well put together and easy to understand!
This made setting it up a very smooth process and makes it so much easier to look up information when it is needed. I would recommend this machine to anyone! It is worth spending the money on! I look forward to many years with this machine and hope I will never need to buy a new one, but if I do it will for sure be a Janome.Read more reviews at Amazon.com.

Sample Customer Review… I researched many machines before purchasing. I am a bridal seamstress of 44 years. I have had very expensive machines over that time. This machine has everything I need and I had no adjustment time when learning how to operate it the very first day. I only had to order a roll hem presser foot and now I’m good to go. You can’t beat the price and quality. Now I’m ready for 44 more years of happy sewing!Read more reviews at Amazon.com.
When you are looking to sew through denim, there are multiple things to consider when you are choosing a sewing machine. Since denim is a bulky fabric, Some machines will have a difficult time going through the fabric if they were not made for it. Below are something to consider when browning for a new sewing machine.
If you are sewing through thick materials such as denim, then you need a needle that is larger and sharper than your usual universal needle. Some machines will come with a denim needle however not all do. It is good to do research before you purchase a machine that the one you are looking at can use a denim needle even though it may not come with one.
Depending on the type of denim being used, there are different needles that can be used. A 90/14 needle works best with light and medium weight denim. However, a 100/16 needle will work best for heavy weight denim.
Since denim is a thick fabric, the motor of the sewing machine will need to have enough power to sew through multiple layers of denim. When choosing a machine, it is suggested that you look at heavy-duty sewing machines. These machines will have a better build quality and better motor than low-cost budget options.
Heavy-duty sewing machines will usually be made of metal and will have a bigger motor than most plastic ones. An additional benefit of heavy-duty machines is that the better build quality will ensure a longer lifespan of your machine vs machines that have mostly plastic components.
Extra-high presser foot lift
When working with several layers of heavy weight denim, a high pressure foot lift will be essential when you need to layer several layers of denim. If your machine’s foot lift does not rise high enough, that will severely limit the types of projects you can work on.
Stitch Length Variation
It is best to choose a machine that has multiple options of stitches. When stitching denim, it is best to use long stitches versus shorter ones. Short stitches can lead to broken needles and snapped threads.
A zig zag stitch will also be essential when sewing denim. A zig zag stitch allows for the most secure stitch for bulky fabrics. It is best to choose a machine that has multiple stitch options as they can not only be used to work with denim but can give you the most versatility when sewing different fabrics.
We know that it can be quite hard to find the best sewing machines for denim, one that is truly designed for toughness. A machine that can truly serve quality and ease with the thickest of fabrics, and we are here to help! We designed this review guide to best help you navigate through which machines are the very best out there right now for not only denim but every fabric.
We conducted thorough research and went through the ins and outs of the sewing industry so that when it came time for your search, you wouldn’t have to! We hope to have been of some major assistance along your journey of finding your most perfect machine. The machine that will follow you throughout all of your creative sewing activities!
