You can find this with the Coleman ComfortSmart Cot, they found a gap in camping cots and provided a two for one cot with a comfort pad and easy setup.
Sample Customer Review…Very comfortable. Using in tandem with a lightweight sleeping bag for indoor use. Purchased this cot in lieu of buying furniture for a temporary living situation. I’ve been sleeping on this cot for 10-12 days at a time while working remotely and find it to be very comfortable. My roommate purchased one too. Both cots have been used for over a month with no problems. I’m 200 pounds, 6’1″, and my roommate is 250 lbs and about 6′. The lightweight cot is easy to fold up and transport, sets up in under a minute, and is very comfortable for extended use. I would definitely buy again.Read more reviews at Amazon.com.
2. TETON Sports Outfitter XXL Camping Cot
TETON provides consumers with a quick and easy setup, promoting the pivot arm to avoid any hassle during use. This Cot is both wider and longer than a twin bed which provides lots of space to relax for a comforting sleep. The frame is made of aluminum while the steel S-leg design strengthens the cot and provides support. As an XXL Cot, it weights only 26 pounds and can support up to 600 pounds of weight.
Sample Customer Review…These cots are incredible! Seriously. I have never, ever slept so good camping before in my life and I’ve done lots of camping! The morning after our first night sleeping on this cot camping, I couldn’t believe we slept until 8:30am! I don’t even sleep in that late at home in my own bed. The cot is very well made. We had no trouble putting them together. They fold up easily and slide into a carrier similar to a camping chair. You do have to use some force to get the end rail in but it’s not a problem. Be prepared for the very large size. The actual “fabric” part that you actually lay on is 40 inches wide but the total width with the rails is 43″. My husband and I are of average height and weight and had more than plenty of room. We both laid on one together and it held us easy but we wouldn’t want to sleep that way. However, two children could sleep on it together easy! I am a stomach sleeper and extend my arms out over my head when I sleep. I laid that way in this cot and still had plenty of room at my head and feet. I could move around on the cot and it stayed in place rock solid. They sit 19 inches off the ground so you don’t have to crawl down into it. They are larger than a twin size bed. The two cots would not fit in our 6 man tent. We had to go up to a 15 x 9 tent for them to fit and still allow room to walk into the tent. We put a sleeping bag on it and a fitted sheet on top of that (to hold the sleeping bag in place) and it was incredibly comfortable.Read more reviews at Amazon.com.
3. Byer of Maine Easy Cot
Holding true to its name, this cot is extremely easy to set up, just unfold it like an umbrella. It is also extra long and wide to fit any body type and as a result is extra spacious. With polyester material and steel legs, this cot is very durable and can hold up to 330 pounds. It also consists of breathable fabric that is on the firmer side without being stiff. If you are a taller person, move around a lot, or need back support when sleeping, this cot has all the features for you. Folding it back down is just as easy as the set up, and it comes with a carrying bag to make travel convenient as well.
Sample Customer Review...I’ve slept on this for the past 2 nights in my home office to test it out and I couldn’t be happier with it. I’m 6 feet 1 inch tall, weight is 190 pounds, and I’m a side sleeper. I’ve got a 3 inch memory foam topper on it, but I think it would do fine without it because the material is is pretty quality made and lying down on it doesn’t feel in the least. The fact that there is no metal exposed on the sides, and no metal bar on either end of the cot is absolutely essential. I wouldn’t want to be touching up against metal while I sleep, especially when I take this out on a camping trip and don’t have a roof over my head other than a tent.
As far as unfolding it and folding it back up, it can’t get any easier than this. I was a little concerned at first that there are no locks on the legs, because I switch from side to side throughout the night when I sleep, but I found that this cot presented zero stability issues with me moving about like that. My primary concerns when I was shopping around for a cot was space and ease of placement and removal, and the Easy Cot knocked it out of the ball park easily.Read more reviews at Amazon.com.
4. Ever Advanced Folding Camping Cot
The Ever Advanced folding camping cot got its name due to the innovative design and durable steel frame. You will also find extreme convenience with the included carrying bag, making it easy to transport. Lastly, it can support up to 250 pounds providing comfort and stability for the consumer.
Sample Customer Review…This thing is surprisingly easy to set up and take down! Upon receipt, I wanted to see how quickly I could put it together. I think it took me all of a minute or two. Very simple and intuitive! The components and materials appear to be very durable and sturdy. It definitely feels quality and like it’s going to last. I weigh approx. 170 lbs., and when I laid down on the cot, it was nice and firm with just a little bit of “give.” In other words, it was pretty comfortable. The width was sufficient and the length had plenty of room for taller folks. Taking the cot down is as simple as putting it together, and it packs away nicely in the storage bag. There’s plenty of room inside the bag for other things, too, if you want to consolidate some of your gear and use the storage bag for more than just the cot itself. I highly recommend this cot. It’s extremely practical, intuitive, easy to set up and take down, and comfortable. I wish I had this cot when we went to Kings Canyon for camping several months ago!Read more reviews at Amazon.com.
5. Coleman Camping Cot with Side Table
This Cot is unlike many of the others on the market, it comes equipped with a removable side table. The table has a cup holder and is the perfect place to keep your phone, a snack, and a drink while you sleep at night. The frame supports up to 300 pounds as it is made of strong steel that is built to last. Included with your purchase is a bag to keep the Cot in allowing it to be stored anywhere very easily.

They want to create a happy environment for their consumers providing satisfaction with their products. Not only that, but Coleman strives to create products that make it more enjoyable and easier for consumers to get outdoors and enjoy what they are doing.
Again, Coleman was able to capitalize on applying an easy to use side table that would allow consumers to store items during a camping trip right next to them while they sleep. Something they otherwise had not done before. Making life easier for their consumers allows for an enjoyable outdoor experience, which Coleman attempts to provide when creating all of their products.
Sample Customer Review…I’m one of those people who generally does a lot of research before buying. On occasions when time doesn’t allow for that, I rely heavily on the reviews of OTHER people who have done a lot of research. In this case, I looked at about a dozen different cots before purchasing this Coleman. Things that were important to me? Size, first of all. I’m tall myself and even though these are mostly going to be used by my kids, my kids aren’t going to stay kids forever. I didn’t see any point in buying smaller cots now that were going to be useless in 5 years. The size of these cots is more than ample for someone 6′-3″, 240 lbs. This cot is wide enough that you can roll over without feeling like you’re going to roll off. Other pros: extremely easy to set up; extremely easy to put away, sturdy, quiet, affordable, comfortable, side table with cup holder works on either side and tucks away nicely inside the durable, easy to use (no stuffing!) carrying bag. I’ll be buying another one and we may end up taking these with us when we visit family.Read more reviews at Amazon.com.
6. Osage River Folding Camping Cot with Carrying Bag
The Osage River folding camping cot comes with a carrying bag that provides the consumer with convenience and ease during use. It can also support up to three hundred pounds making it perfect for any adult to use. The frame is easy to push down, locking the frame joints into place. Luckily, the fabric is waterproof so you will not have to worry if it gets a little wet or damp.
Sample Customer Review…We bought our cots because we go on multiple youth and mission work trips where we sleep in churches or high school gyms. I grew so frustrated with air mattresses, I never wanted to bother with one again. I can’t stand cold coming up from under me and I always slept freezing on an air mattress. The first night I slept on this cot, it was comfortable and I fell asleep quickly. I didn’t have a pad on it and did wake up cold. I’ve since added the Therm-a-Rest pad and, since it reflects the heat back at you, it solved that problem. I would recommend that if you sleep cold.
I was looking for a cot that was easy to transport and of decent size, my husband is six foot and I didn’t want him hanging off of one. I also needed it to be easy for my daughter and I to put up and take down ourselves without any help.
The cots are long enough for a 6 ft man, wide enough to sleep on your side and so easy to setup! You just pull it open like a camp chair. One other feature I intentionally looked for was something quiet. I didn’t want some crinkle sound everytime I moved. I didn’t have that problem with this cot. We have many more trips coming up and we are happy to have these traveling with us.
We have also used them when we had extra house guests and they love them too!Read more reviews at Amazon.com.
7. REDCAMP Folding Camp Cot
The REDCAMP Folding Camp Cot has strong support providing stability for any weight up to five hundred pounds. It is ultra-wide providing the consumer with comfort and a spacious camping cot to sleep in. You will also find this cot’s convenience due to its easy setup.
Sample Customer Review… I have always hated air mattresses for camping because I would always wake up on the ground, so I made the switch to a cot and could not have imagined having a better night’s sleep! I am a back sleeper, so the support and sturdiness was perfect for me! I even had one of my kids sneak up onto the cot in the middle of the night with me and we both laid side by side comfortably. It was so easy to just pull out of the bag and unfold for use. It didn’t lock into position for me which I was initially worried about, but I realized after sitting on it that it was actually more sturdy because the ground wasn’t completely flat/level but the cot wasn’t wiggling back and forth because the support beams weren’t locked. I saw a bunch of reviews that had complaints of noisy fabric, but mine didn’t make a sound (I’m 5’4″ and 140lbs if that is any consolation). I used a super fluffy comforter to top it off (and because it was extremely cold weather) and I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. No regrets for this purchase at all.Read more reviews at Amazon.com.
8. Coleman Trailhead II Cot
This cot is very spacious and high off of the floor. It comes with slightly higher rails in order to protect sleepers from rolling off. While the frame is durable, the material is also sturdy and will support you. It is bound to provide you with years of good use. It also comes with secured side pockets which allow you to keep some of your smaller objects near you when you sleep. This cot is definitely on the heavier side and will be difficult to hike with, however it does come with a carrying bag.
Sample Customer Review…I was a bit skeptical after reading on the mixed reviews. I figured even if I got only one use for what I needed it for was worth it so I purchased it and within a couple days was at my doorstep. I immediately put it together and like the other reviews found the last crossbar was a bit difficult to lock into place, but seriously nothing a little muscle can’t handle. The quality of the material as well as the carrying case I found to be very durable. Instructions can be found stitched on the inside flap of the carrying case, very handy. So worth my investment, glad I took the chance on it.Read more reviews at Amazon.com.
9. KingCamp Camping Cot
Using an innovative design the KingCamp Camping Cot is portable, durable, and doubles as both a chair and a bed. It uses an ergonomic design in order to reduce muscle stress as well as tension to provide the consumer with a comfortable alternative to their bed.
Sample Customer Review…This is a super sturdy and comfortable cot that can be used as a chair. It is easy to set up and take down. I really like that the head is adjustable and can go up or down. The foot part is easy to put down, however, you may slide right off, so be careful. We bought one for my special needs brother and my mother for camping. They love it!Read more reviews at Amazon.com.
10. Hitorhike Camping Cot
Hitorhike provides consumers with an easily accessible as well as storable camping cot. Unfortunately, it can only hold up to 280 pounds but is extremely comfortable. It is about 7 inches off of the ground and is made of nylon waterproof cloth.
Sample Customer Review…We got these for a 16 day road trip where we’d be camping in multiple states and various climates. I did a few practice setups and breakdowns at home so we had no surprises or issues at camp. These things were awesome. They are pretty light weight, pack down fairly small and take about 5 mins to set up or tear down (this was with a 6 year old “helping”). Some of the reviews mentioned that these were too tough to work with. You do need to use some strength to build or break apart, however I’m a tiny lady and after I figured these out, I could do it quickly. The legs do get easier to work with the more you set up and take down the cots. I found it was best to apply downwards pressure on the leg with one hand (and a lot of my body weight) while simultaneously lifting up the long cot pole with the other hand to meet the notch in the leg piece. Not sure about the review who said these had 30 pieces, there are 5 legs, 2 long poles and the cot fabric, all fit nicely into the bag they came in. As far as comfort, they sure beat sleeping on the ground and are better than a wonky air mattress that rolls you to the middle or off the edge and require you to bring sheets to avoid sleeping on the plastic air mattress. The first night, I used just a sleeping bag on the cot and was a little uncomfortable in the shoulders. 2nd night (and every night after), I layered down an old sarape from the car, then my sleeping bag, and was fine. You could probably use a sleeping pad as well for even more comfort.Read more reviews at Amazon.com.
11. Kamp-Rite Oversize Kwik Cot
The Kamp-Rite Oversize Kwik Cot is both durable and resistant to any weather you may stumble upon on your camping trip. It comes pre-assembled and is extremely easy to set up due to the nylon material it is made from.
Sample Customer Review…Bought this for the annual family camping trip as I was getting tired of the air mattresses deflating every night even though they didn’t have any holes. This was definitely a step way up. I did buy a pad to put under my sleeping bag as some other people suggested, and it was heaven. Simple set up, definitely stable, and plenty of room under the cot to put all your other stuff. It’s a bit high off the ground, especially when you’re only 5’2″, but that wasn’t such a big deal. Though you should make sure you have a tent big enough to stand at full height in if you plan to get this. Also pay attention to the dimensions for how long it is, because it is long. I will have to buy another next year as my mother stated she wanted one as well. I even had to fight my niece over it because she wanted to come stay in my tent and sleep on it. It is roomy. My brother who is 5’7″ and about 210lbs came to test it out and said he was pretty confident it would hold him just fine.Read more reviews at Amazon.com.
Buying Guide: Things to Consider When Purchasing a Camping Cot
How it packs
The type of camping you will be doing is going to play the biggest factor in the way in which you want your cot to pack down. For example, if you are planning to go backpacking, then you will have to rely on a smaller cot that you can physically walk with while holding on your back. This is different from car campers, who can fit a bulkier cot in the car and then will only have to move it a couple feet to set up once parked at the campground. So, highly consider what type of camping you plan to do and then focus on packing size accordingly. You will see with the rest of considerations when buying a cot that a lot of it boils down to what size cot you want and how important that is over other factors.
Easy Set up
Because you need a cot with enough tension to hold you up, it can often take a good amount of streng, or another pair of hands, to be able to pull the material across the frame. Generally, smaller and more compact cots are going to be harder to assemble, whereas bulkier cots will be easier to assemble. This means that when buying a cot you must consider if you value convenience of set up or convenience for travel more.
How comfortable your cot is for you will depend on a number of things. First of all, make sure to look for one that fits all your dimensions and leaves some extra room, both length and width wise. If you fit inside a cot but your legs are close to hanging off the ends then it probably won’t be the most comfortable sleep. Most cots do not come with cushioning, but if comfort is of the utmost importance and you do not want to add a sleeping bag on top, then make sure to look for a cot that comes with cushioned material. For both dimensions and cushioning, obviously a bigger cot is more likely to provide these things, however just like before, you must consider if comfort is more important than how conveniently you can travel with it.
Prices will vary immensely for cots, starting in the $20 range and reaching above $300. This all breaks down to the different features you would like your cot to have. For example, if you want it to come with more cushion and be specifically designed to fit in a backpack and remain lightweight, then be ready to pay a little more for your cot.
While obviously you need to look for a cot that can support your weight, you may also want to account for other factors that may inevitably rough up your cot. For example, if you know you will be camping with rowdy children who may want to play on your cot or if you want to account for your bed possibly being dropped for some reason, then you will want to have a sturdy frame. Again, bulkier cots tend to be more durable but lightweight cots are easier to travel with. If you decide to go with a lighter cot that makes your backpacking experience more enjoyable, you will definitely need to treat it with greater caution and care.
These three cots are arguably the best on the market, they provide comfort, durability, stability, and easy setup. Whether you are looking for a cot for someone six foot six or four foot eleven there is a cot out there for you. You can find comfort in the all included mattress pad on the Coleman ComfortSmart Cot, even pregnant women have found it to be comfortable.
If you are in need of a side table for your phone, water, and more then the Coleman Camping Cot with Side Table is for you. If the side table is taking up too much space you can remove it and avoid setting it up altogether. Some people have even found it to be useful as storage for their sleep apnea machines.
The Teton Sports Cot provides immense comfort for those who are both wide and tall giving them a cot that suits all of their needs. You will not have to worry about your legs hanging off the end seeing as this cot is meant for tall people. It is about the same size width-wise as a twin bed, giving you and your significant other a place to sleep together.
Consider all of the pros and cons of each cot before making a final decision, but you really can not go wrong with any of the options. There is a cot out there for everyone and the purchase of one of these cots will bring you satisfaction and comfort for a good night’s sleep.
Whether you are camping or hosting house guests, you will wake up well-rested and satisfied after sleeping on one of the above-mentioned cots. After purchasing your cot, consider leaving a review on amazon to inform other people of your experience with these cots.
