1. RhinoGear RhinoRamps

Looking for a lightweight, yet durable pair of ramps? These RhinoGear set of car ramps are made from a sturdy foam material to avoid scratches on your garage. These car ramps can be universally used for cars with shorter front ends and can hold a tire width of 8 inches and a car weighing up to 1,500 pounds.

The surface is a larger size, perfect for gripping the ground and tires firmly. Typically, the size of these car ramps is more appropriate for smaller vehicles, such as small sports cars with the tire width measuring a maximum of 8 inches.

Pros
  • Lightweight
  • Anti-scuff
  • Can grip the ground well
  • Can hold up to 1,500 pounds
  • Durable
Cons
  • Cost lots of money
  • Suitable for only smaller cars

Sample customer review… these ramps are extremely well made and very sturdy. They held my CR-V without any issue at all. After seeing some of the failures, I was sure to check for bowing or cracks. I didn’t see even a little flex in the sides of the ramps. A few things I like. There are rubber grips on the bottom that prevent the ramps from sliding out as long as they are on a clean floor. The ramps fit inside each other, so they take up less space in the garage. The front lip on the top is very pronounced, making it easy to tell when you are on the top of the ramp. The ramps also have plenty of grooves to prevent your tires from slipping.

A few things to prevent failures. Make sure the tires are centered with the ramps. Check and recheck. If a tire is not center, you may put too much weight on one side, leading to a failure. Have someone guide you if you are unsure. Only use the ramp on a clean, smooth, level surface. These are really made for paved driveways with zero grade or a garage floor. Don’t leave the ramps outside in the sun. They are a plastic material and plastic does degrade over time. Direct sunlight will speed this process up. Check the ramps for any cracks before using them. Don’t exceed the limit of the ramp. Always check your tires and use a second safety measure like jack stands, a floor jack, or stacked blocks of wood in case there is a failure while in use.

2. Race Ramps Rally Ramps

If you’re an owner of a high-performance or sports vehicle, this Race Ramp is for you. It’s designed for vehicles with low clearance to avoid damaging the underside of the car. It is also lightweight and portable with a built-in handle to make elevating your car efficient and versatile.

Pros
  • Portable
  • Non-slip
  • Sturdy
  • Lightweight
Cons
  • Low density
  • Not much lift

Sample customer review… Works as advertised! My WRX didn’t collapse the ramps despite being a few hundred pounds over the “maximum limit”. Much cheaper than buying a new low-profile jack. Plenty of room for an oil change and leverage to do said work.

3. Nicky Nice Solid Steel Auto Ramp Set

The Nicky Nice ramp set is a great deal for a solid steel pair to hold your automobile in place. It has a powdered coat to sustain its value. This ramp set can hold a 6,500-pound capacity vehicle with each ramp measuring 35x13x9 inches.

These are great for repairs and maintenance such as oil changes and tire changes. The steel material provides great durability. The Nicky Nice ramp set is a great deal for a solid steel pair to hold your automobile in place.

Pros
  • Solid Steel
  • Suitable for maintenance
  • Made in the USA
Cons
  • Quality isn’t the most durable
  • Some customers have complained they are too high

Sample customer review… I used these for my 2017 Honda CR-V and 2015 Chevrolet Cruze and you can feel rest assured that crawling under your vehicle while rolled on these ramps that you are safe. The ramps are solidly built of steel and have a raised lip at the end of the hardware so that you know when to stop accelerating your car. Also, they have holes on the incline part to provide bonus traction for your tires to prevent vehicle slippage. 1/4″ holes are punched out on each ramp so that they can be hung up for storage, also they are stackable.

4. Trailer-Aid Tandem Tire Changing Ramp

If you are looking for the perfect car ramp for maintenance purposes, such as tire and oil changes, this ramp is what you are looking for. It allows you to easily change a flat tire, providing a 4.5” lift from the ground.

This lightweight car ramp is made from remarkably strong polymer, allowing you to safely drive upon it. It is made to hold up to 15,000 pounds for trailers and RVs.

Pros
  • Made from a strong polymer
  • Waterproof and rust-resistant
  • 15,000 lbs high lifting capacity
  • 4.5” clearance
Cons
  • Not satisfactory for every type of trailer

Sample customer review… If you pull a trailer, this is a must-have. It’s reasonably priced and makes a miserable job a lot easier. It also makes servicing your trailer much less of a chore.

I thought this was a great idea before I ever had to use it. Now that I have had a couple of trailer flats, I won’t leave home without it. I once had to change a tire by the side of the interstate with big rigs going by, and the turbulence made the trailer really sway and rock. The trailer was much more stable on this ramp than it would have been on a jack, and I didn’t have to worry about it falling off while I was in the middle of the tire change.

5. BISupply Vehicle Service Ramp Set

The BISupply ramp set is made from durable plastic that can hold SUVs, trucks, and vans. Each pair can carry up to 4,000 pounds with a 6.3 clearance from the ground.

These ramps are great for doing maintenance whether it is changing your oil, transmission fluid, driver’s belt, etc. you will find this pair is easily manageable and accessible. They provide safety while you are working on your car with each ramp width being 11.5 inches.

The surface of the ramp has good adhesion for your tires as well as the bottom of the ramps so you don’t scuff the ground.

Pros
  • Sturdy material made from heavy-duty plastic
  • Good for maintenance
  • Can hold up to 4,000 pounds
  • 11.5 inches of tire width
  • Strong, but lightweight
  • Great traction
Cons
  • Works best only on a flat surface

Sample customer review… Saying that I do think the ramps are built stronger than the others I reviewed on Amazon’s site. The plastic columns are interlocked to each other, one on top and the next on the bottom, etc. There are cast-in or glued rubber-like feet on the bottom to prevent slipping and there is also a slight ridge on each side to help prevent run-off on each side on the top of the ramps. I think I would only use these on a flat concrete surface and be sure to never approach the sides of the ramps.

6. Low Profile Plastic Car Service Ramps

This pair of discount ramps are great if you are looking for a cheaper pair of heavy-duty plastic ramps. They are a good choice for low-profile service ramps.

Measuring out to 27.5×7.8×2.5 inches, they can hold a capacity of 4,400 pounds. It has a 9.05-degree slope created for lower cars. Additionally, these ramps have a honey-combed style texture to help avoid moisture build-up for easier cleanup.

Pros
  • Good for low profile cars
  • Easy to clean
  • Affordable
Cons
  • Only satisfies low profile cars (2.5 in)

Sample customer review… their value compared to more expensive alternatives is great. I’ve used them a few times for brake pad changes for track days on a low-profile competition package M3. They raise the front end just enough to access the front center jack point for subsequent lowering onto jack stands onto the side lift points. The instructions say that the width of the ramps is exceeded by my stock tires but this has not been an issue and I feel safe with these as I wouldn’t do work under the car on these ramps anyways. I just make sure they are lined up with my front tires well prior to driving up onto them. Regarding slipping off of the ramps on concrete, an easy solution that I use is to support them with my rubber wheel chocks or place a rubber yoga mat beneath each ramp. This provides plenty of friction.

7. Low Profile Sports Car Lift Service Ramps

Whether you need a heavy-duty ramp for a showroom or maintenance, this ramp is another low-profile ramp, perfect for performing service on lower-profiled cars. This ramp has a slope of 11.5 degrees and is 66 inches long. It lifts your automobile 7 inches off the ground.

This ramp duo is made out of durable aluminum that holds 3,000 pounds. Additionally, there are side rails to keep your car in place and rubber pads on the bottom to keep it from sliding.

Pros
  • Durable aluminum
  • Suitable for maintenance
  • Satisfies low profile car
  • Side rails & rubber pads
Cons
  • Heavy (43 pounds)
  • Low maximum capacity

Sample customer review… These ramps are so well built, that they’ll hold my Dakota, full-size Bronco, my wife’s Forester, neighbors Expedition, etc, and long enough that I can get my sons lowered (3″ ground clearance) Monte Carlo right up on them. Plus they are tall enough to get most any service that doesn’t require wheel removal done and wide enough for vehicles with large off-road tires plus with large enough side guides not to have to worry about driving off the side, and has a huge end stop plate to keep you from driving off the end. Plus being aluminum, the pair is lighter than one of my old steel ramps (now scrapped), which were too steep even for my wife’s Forester and they will never rust. The only problem I’ve had is that they use a cheap rubber pad on the bottom of the legs where they contact the ground to keep them from sliding; they lasted a week, easily replaced with some heavier rubber and some good 3M spray adhesive. They shipped quickly and arrived undamaged. I see right now they are unavailable, hope that changes, they should be able to sell thousands of these sets for all of us backyard mechanics. The only set I’d buy if I ever need another set

8. Electriduct Rubber Curb Ramp

The Electriduct ramp can hold 20,000 pounds while measuring 5.2” in height, 12.75″ in length, and 19″ in width. It is made from industrial-grade reused rubber to provide stability and a tight grip on the surface. With its high weight lifting capacity, it has been said to hold up to a 32 foot RV and other large campers.

Overall, this ramp is used for heavy vehicles. Very heavy-duty! Reviews mention that it doesn’t dislodge when the car is elevated on it, showing it has great traction from the rubber material.

Pros
  • Sturdy rubber material
  • Excellent grip
  • Can support up to 20,000 lbs
Cons
  • Rear height is a little shorter than stated
  • Smelly rubber

Sample customer review… these ramps were exactly what we expected them to be and did just what we needed them to; we actually ended up buying two more of them because it was easier than moving the two for different trailers being moved. They are a little heavy as other reviewers have mentioned but you are driving a lot of weight over them so I am totally fine with that; they aren’t so heavy that I cannot move them myself. I would definitely recommend them, no hesitation!

9. Pyle Heavy Duty Plastic Curb Ramps

The Pyle Heavy Duty Plastic Curb Ramps can hold up to 6,600 pounds of weight–you would never guess they are made of plastic material! These sturdy ramps can be used for various vehicles, effectively elevating anything from a motorcycle to a trailer. They are suited to use for driveway ramps, loading dock, garage, or any type of curbs. The dimensions are 20 inches wide, large enough for bigger tires. Also, the ramp sits 4.1 inches high from the ground, establishing its clearance.

Pros
  • Affordable
  • Lightweight
  • 6,600-pound capacity
  • Variety of uses
Cons
  • 4.1-inch lift

Sample customer review… they are lightweight but very durable and small enough to store just about anywhere. And they have a built-in handle cutout for easy carrying. I would definitely recommend these to anyone with a light-to-medium-weight motorcycle. I’m pretty sure they could handle some of the heavier weight bikes but I personally haven’t used them for anything other than light-to-mid-weight ones.

 10. Tomioka Racing Super Slopes – Car Ramps

The Tomioka Racing ramps are great for lower-profiled vehicles. It can be damaging to ride on raised surfaces with low-profile cars, which is why these lower sloped ramps are perfect, lifting your car 3 inches off the ground.

The ramps are made of heavy-duty plastic, yet are lightweight and easy to maneuver. Marked at an affordable price, these ramps will benefit most needs you are looking for when buying your perfect car ramp.

Compared to other ramps, these are on a smaller scale, measuring the width of one ramp at 8 inches. Although, they have a mild bevel allowing an easy lift to your car.

Pros
  • Affordable
  • Mild incline
  • Lightweight and easy to store
Cons
  • Low clearance of 3 inches
  • Narrow ramp width of 8 inches
  • Suited for only low-profile cars

Sample customer review… I love these. You wouldn’t think 2.5” would make a difference, but it does. I use them all the time. Super easy to do with no assistance. Like others have said, it’s hard to tell when the car is all the way on, but the angle is so small that you can easily e-brake it and check. I’m planning to buy a second set so I can put all four wheels on them any time I do maintenance. They’re narrow, but that doesn’t matter. They are wide enough.

11. Rage Powersports Sports Car Service Ramp

The Rage Powersport Sports Car ramps are a very sleek and slim option when it comes to car ramps. Best for low-riding cars, these ramps are made of solid aluminum and hold up to 3,000 pounds.

Portability is not a strong suit of these ramps, though. The long nature of the ramp allowing for accessibility to low-profile cars takes away from the portability possiibilities.

With the 3,000-pound weight limit, these are durable enough to take on extremely heavy vehicles.

Pros
  • 3,000 lb weight limit
  • Accessible to low riding cars
  • Durable
  • Sleek and slim
Cons
  • Not very portable
  • Not great for normal riding vehicles

Sample customer review… I was originally going to purchase a pair of Race Ramps model RR-XT-2 67 but was not sold on those space-foam ramps lasting me 10 plus years.

These, on the other hand, are super sturdy and are well made. They definitely look like they will last me forever. Furthermore, the ramps are not too heavy either. The ramps give you 9.5 inches of actual lift and will accommodate any low-profile vehicle.

12. Guardian Industrial

This Guardian Industrial ramp offers many different features with the most impressive being the high clearance provided.

With this ramp, you receive an impressive 32-degree incline. This allows for plenty of room under the car when working. Although, this is not the best when working with a low-profile car. A longer, less steep option would be the way to go.

Another plus: this specific ramp is made with 2 holes, allowing the ramps to be bolted into place for increased stability.

Pros
  • Stability
  • High Clearance
  • Support
Cons
  • Low-Profile Cars

Sample customer review… I got this ramp after the plastic MAXSA Innovations 20031 Curb Ramp got tossed to the side the first time I tried to use it with my 2015 Honda PCX 150 scooter.

With the added weight, this curb ramp was exactly what I was looking for to store our scooter on top of a curb in our garage (about the height of a short sidewalk). The rubber material helps keep the ramp in place, while the weight doesn’t let the ramp get tossed to the side. It’s very sturdy and I have no doubt it’d be able to support a car or anything larger than our scooter.

For my purposes, I wish it was a little bit wider, but I think it’s the best option on Amazon for an affordable, durable ramp to get a two-wheeler onto a curb.

13. Rage Powersports Sports Car Service Ramp

Another great pick for sports car owners is the Rage Powersports Sports ramp. Made of sturdy aluminum, this ramp is guaranteed to last for years and always gives you a reliable lift. With 7 inches of lift, the underside of the car is easily accessible for maintenance or just display purposes.

Pros
  • Lightweight
  • Durable
  • Low-clearance
Cons
  • Not easily portable
  • Not anti-slip

Sample customer review…These ramps work great for my low clearance car. The welds look good, and these ramps are light and easy to carry. I’ve only used them a few times, but time will tell about longevity. I also like the width of the ramp surface…less risk of driving off the side or having the tip of the ramp over from less than perfect positioning. The rubber pads aren’t glued very well, but I consider that a minor thing.

Why Purchase a Heavy Duty Car Ramp?

Car ramps provide balance and stability to your vehicle. Whether you are doing maintenance and repairs or need a steady incline when driving up your driveway curb, car ramps can help!

When compared to car jacks, car ramps have more durability. You can feel assured that the vehicle will hold up for as long as you need on a car ramp to ensure better safety.

When working on a vehicle, it is important to have enough ground clearance to avoid difficulty. Compared to car jacks, ramps provide more ground clearance allowing you to see more clearly underneath your car. Additionally, car ramps can save you money instead of going to a car mechanic and spending hundreds of dollars on repairs you can do at home.

Buying Guide

Clearance

When purchasing a car ramp, it is important to look at the clearance of the ramp. This determines how high the ramp can lift your car. It may provide the degree or height in inches of how high it lifts off the ground. A lower lifting inclination is about 2.5-4 inches. On the other hand, a higher clearance would be around 5-9 inches.

Weight Capacity

Each ramp can hold up to a certain weight capacity. The capacity for car ramps usually ranges from 3,000-40,000 pounds. Your vehicle weight and size will help determine what type of ramp to purchase.

Physical Material

The material of a car ramp helps determine the quality of the ramp. The prime materials that car ramps are generally made out of are rubber, plastic, or steel. The physical material also helps determine the cost of the ramp. Plastic ramps are generally cheaper than steel ramps.

Ramp Width

The width of the ramps will help distinguish whether your tires will fit on the ramps. It is important that they are wide enough for your tires to hold stability.

Holes

Some car ramps have holes placed on them to help provide more stability while doing work on them. They are punctured so that people can drill the ramps down to ensure they don’t slip out from underneath you.

Traction

The surface and bottom texture of the ramp are important to consider as well when investing in a car ramp. Having enough traction on the bottom will ensure your ramp doesn’t slip while your vehicle is on it.

Additionally, having enough traction on the surface of the ramp will ensure your tires don’t slip off while it is inclined. Some ramp surfaces have crisscross patterns, while others have honeycomb grooves to prevent sliding. Furthermore, traction is important to consider if you will be using car ramps in all types of weather (rain, snow, sleet).

How to Use a Heavy Duty Car Ramps

Before using car ramps, ensure you are purchasing the right one for your vehicle. Double-check the weight capacity, inclination height, safety features. To begin, make sure your car’s front and back wheels are aligned forward on a smooth, flat surface.

When arranging the car ramps, make sure the lower slant is faced toward the front tire for each ramp. Align them as straight as possible with the front tires. Prior to driving up the ramps, place your tires at the tip of the ramps.

Proceed very slowly to prevent any mistakes of tires sliding or driving off the top. Go ahead until you reach the center of the ramp or wherever the groove is placed to stop. Once you are placed in the center of the ramp, leave the car in gear and put your car in park so it doesn’t drift off.

Conclusion

In the final analysis, these were the top 12 highest-rated heavy duty ramps. All of these options are of great quality and highly recommended in the reviews.

Once you have determined your vehicles’ features, then you can match it with the right ramp style that would suit your vehicle. Consider the ramp’s inclination height, weight capacity, material, ramp width, holes, and traction to find your perfect heavy-duty ramp. Happy researching and shopping!
